The joy cons are great but this controller is you are still able to use motion controls which is nice. Its very comfortable and has a long battery life. If you are a casual gamer stick with joy cons. If you gamer who plays a lot this controller is worth the peice.

Long life battery, very easy to set up, Vibrates! Which works for me! Nice grip, more comfortable than the original control. Has a long Bluetooth range.

I started looking at the pro controller after the stock controllers kept losing their signal. When using the stock controllers I'd have to make sure there was a clear line of sight or else button presses would not register, something that became super annoying.
The pro controller fixed all of that. I no longer have to worry about clear line of sight and I no longer experience interruptions in the signal. Plus, the pro controller is a lot more comfortable.
The controller itself is charged via a USB-C cable and is said to hold a charge for 40 hours of gameplay.

Exactly what I needed. Good controls out of the box, no analog triggers if you're concerned about that but to me I don't need them anyways, no back buttons as well and I prefer that as I accidentally hit them anyways.

Feels really good in my hands. Long battery life. Very smooth and light weight, but not too light to make it feel cheap

Typically I am not a fan of wireless products, had a few run out of juice in bad times, however you can have this one plugged in a charging while playing so you have that flexible option.
Controller is comfortable to hold if you plan on logging a few hours, if you’re an adult and tried playing the Switch as a handheld unit you’ll notice a big difference right away.
I still prefer the button layout of the Game Cube style controller, but I am still happy with this wireless pro. With the multiplayer games available having extra controllers around I a great thing!

This is hands down the best controller for the switch. It may seems a bit pricey, but it is worth it. I waited to find it on sale. I love it! Highly recommend!!

For Zelda, this is necessary. The Joycons have nothing on this controller, I haven't touched the grip since I got the Switch pro controller at launch. The Switch Pro controller feels better in your hands than both the Xbox One and PS4s controllers. Gyro is incredibly responsive and the battery life is incredible compared to the competition. This is also the only console controller to have a USB C connection, which feels much more sturdy than the standard micro USB.
10/10 would buy again. My only complaint is the glossy plastic at the top because it scratches easily. It's very durable though, I've dropped it multiple times.

This controller is absolutely amazing! It charges over the included USB-C cable that can be connected to one of the two front facing USB ports on the switch dock or any other USB that powers the device according to the specifications. I haven't quite experienced the claimed "40 hour lifespan" that is advertised on the box but it is well over 30+ hours. If you prefer a traditional gamepad as opposed to the joycons I couldn't recommend this enough. It supports amiibo and features motion controls that can still be used in a range of games. Wonderful product!

I prefer playing my Nintendo Switch in TV mode. This controller works flawlessly. I rate it way higher in build quality than the Xbox controller that came with my Xbox System X but not as high as my PS5 DualSense controller.
I've had one of these controllers for over two years now and recently started playing some multiplayer games that needed a second controller. While the new controller holds a charge for a long time, the old one isn't noticeably worse. Rock solid and high quality.

Love this controller i highly recommend. The switch itself gives my hand cramps and playing with joy cons ahh no... i mean unless i have to. Plus controller is comfortable wireless has where you can scan amiibos on it as well also the battery life is crazy good! Only complaint is it turns on if u hit any button which if u put into a bag etc is a pain. Only way to avoid is put switch into airplane mode i think someone said..

Controllers work so well. Home button just turns on the Switch from sleep mode so quickly. Buttons are responsive and have no issues. Grip is perfect and so much better than the joy-con controller that comes with the Switch. Excellent response time, no input lag whatsoever. Doesn't take that long to charge, and battery life is exceptional. Reminds me of the Xbox one controller. If you have a Switch, you have to get this controller, especially if you play competitive multiplayer online.

I was skeptic at first due to the high price for just this controller but I was delightfully surprised after using it. The grip of it feels amazing, despite the joycons already fitting my small hands the Pro Controller feels way better as it does give a more traditional gaming feel. The addition of the motion controls and the NFC reader may also probably explain the high price which makes this controller a hardware powerhouse. The addition of a traditional D-Pad is also a positive since the fighting games on the virtual console definitely benefits from it. I highly recommend anyone to grab this for their Switch

This controller is streets ahead of the joycon controllers when they are in the controller grip. The pro controller is more comfortable than it looks and has a good weight to it. Not quite as comfortable as an xbox elite controller, but more comfortable than ps4 controllers. It is a must for long gaming sessions with the switch docked to a tv.

The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller is so great! If you want to be more pro at multiplayer games, or just feel comfortable playing any game, get this controller. Control sticks are bigger and allow more control of movement. Buttons are bigger and more mushy. D-Pad is pretty useful compared to the separate buttons on the Joy-Cons. Trigger buttons are mushy and comfortable to press. The grip is so ergonomic in my hands. Charging takes only a couple hours with an easy USB Type-C Cable. Finally, the controller lasts 40 hours. Don't wait if it's on sale for $50-$60!
