This is exactly what I needed for my Switch! The Joy-cons are a cute gimmicky control scheme but this pro-controller is just better suited for most games. If you are used to using Playstation/Xbox controllers this will definitely feel more natural to you. Also great for people with medium-large sized hands (I always feel like Joycons are so small for my hands). These hold a charge for a long time as well. Honestly these should’ve come with every Switch purchase.

The Pro Controller is a MUST for any Switch player. Stop using that horrible Joycon slide-in holder that comes with the console! This controller is wide enough to feel like your fingers are not going on top of each other but small enough to carry with you on a weekend trip. I have had this controller for almost a year now and I have yet to encounter any Joycon drift issue with the sticks. This is a high quality piece of hardware and is worth the price.

I’ve owned a Switch for over a year now and didn’t think it was worth getting this controller. Boy was I wrong! I think this is a must have if you play any kind of action game. I started using this instead of the Joy Cons for Legend of Zelda: Age of Calamity, Mario 3D World, and even Mario Tennis. I can’t wait to try my other games out. I yet to run into any issues like the Joy Cons have been known for. I will update this review if anything comes up.

The look and feel of this controller is very premium and feels good in the hand.
The feature that I did not expect is that I have logged around 60+ hours on Breath of the Wild and the controller still shows as being charged somewhere up in the 80% range, which is incredible. Whatever technical sorcery allows this should be integrated into other premium controllers like those offered by Microsoft, Razer, etc.

We have had our Switch since the very first release day of the Switch. Over these years, we have tried so many Joy-Con pairs (every single one went bad within no more than a year), wired controllers, and plenty of different off-label wireless and wired controllers. Nothing has lasted as well or performed as well as this controller. I hate that it is so ridiculously expensive and only allows one person to play, but it is the best available on the market.

Very comfortable grip, decent battery life, and chargeable by USB-C. It's pricey, but it's much improved over the Joycons that come with the Switch.

Great comfortable controller probably the best for the switch. I know there are many different kinds to choose from and while I don't like the high price battery life is amazing. It has HD rumble which is nice, and motion control all buttons feel great I would definitely recommend the pro controller over some of the power A controllers I have the nano which is also good but battery life not so much.

Great battery life (and even comes fully charged!), works awesome with Gyro, and is more comfortable to hold than the Joycon+grip setup. Looks pretty sleek; I like how you can see into the electronics on the inside.
This is a must have if you have a hard time comfortable holding the joy cons, with or without the grip. The space distribution on the pro controller is just better and more similar to other console controllers like Play Station, XBOX.

The worst thing about this controller is that it has more input lag than the joycons (based off my perception).
Everything else is great. Holds a charge for a long time. Is very comfortable. Feels very sturdy and higher quality than my xbONE controllers.
I really like it and think it’s nearly perfect.

THE Controller for the Switch

I do not mind using the Joy-Cons when playing games like Zelda, but the Pro Controller feels like a much more natural fit. I would constantly struggle to hit the "-" button on the Joy-Cons when they're attached together due to the awkwardness of it being so close to the left thumbstick, but it is perfect on this controller.
The controller overall has a feeling of quality, and it has a very long battery life. Some games require and even work well with the Joy-Cons, but for fighters and action/adventure games, I would strongly suggest getting a Pro Controller.

Best controller of this generation. Bought as the joy-con are a bit cramped and didn't want to deal with joystick drift. This controller feels so good in hand and the joysticks honestly feel better than the PS5 Dual Sense Xbox Series controller. The 40 hour battery is well beyond them we well. Features like HD rumble and the NFC are also nice. All around if you have a Switch and want the best in controllers this is the controller you need.

I enjoy that it maintains some level of motion control even just to wake the console from the power save mode. Bought it a few weeks ago and put it through the ringer with Bayonetta and Zelda. No lag, no loosening of the sticks. Way better made than most of the XBox controllers I’ve bought!!

While the controller is a little pricey it addresses the main complaints I have with Joy-Cons in general.
Better ergonomics with a feel not unlike the Xbox One/360 controllers, MUCH better thumbsticks than Joy-Con, and excellent battery life.
Seriously the upgraded thumbsticks alone are worth the upgrade IMO.
Only improvements I think could have been made with this controller are the D-Pad, which feels kinda mushy in comparison with the Joy-Con buttons, and the size/grouping of the ABXY buttons which again lack the nice click of Joy-Con.
