    The product was damaged when it arrived. I was going out of town when it arrived so I couldn’t check it then, but now it’s past the return window so I can’t return it. The rice cookers bowl isn’t very rigid and could easily bent if you place it under heavy stuff. When I used it for the first time the cooker was emitting some weird smell as if the internal circuitry was burning, but seemed fine when I used the next couple of times. I found the steamer to be useful, I tried steaming dumplings and it turned out fine.

    we are an elderly couple without lot of guess or any particular gourmet life style, so this cooker is really made to some people like us! a useful bargain

    I use my rice cooker for a whole lot more than rice. I use it every day. I use it to make grits, oatmeal, cream of wheat, rice, quinoa, corn, green beans, ravioli and so forth. This one is a replacement for the one I had for years with no problems.
