I purchased this for my 15 year old son as an early Christmas gift. Right out of the box the drone was easy to use and the instructions on how to sync and calibrate were clear. We were surprised to find that the drone battery came fully charged. Be aware, however, that the joystick requires 4-AA batteries, which are not included. After a quick run to get some batteries, we fired the drone up, followed the instructions to sync and calibrate, and it was in the air. My son and I have messed around with a few drones over the years, but this one blew them all away! It practically flies itself. within about a minute, my son was flying it all over the house with amazing precision (He may have also used it as a means to terrorize his sister's cat). Another cool feature is the VR function of the phone app. Although it would be pretty tough to fly the drone with VR goggles, it was fun to take turns wearing the goggles while the other person flew it around the house. The live feed didn't seem to have too much lag and the camera is decent for the price range. One of the biggest surprises is the Dronium 3x battery life. It says 12-15 minutes, but I feel like we flew it on and off for close to 45 minutes with no issues! That may have been beginners luck, but I was pleasantly surprised. I may still buy a second battery from Protocol (they run about $22). We are taking a trip to colorado next week, so he will really get a chance to use it in an outdoor environment, but overall, here is my initial take: Pros- Long battery life; very easy to use; live feed didn't seem to lag; camera is respectable at this price range; seems pretty durable (my son managed to get it stuck in a tree, but we shook it out and it fell about 15 feet to the driveway with no damage); simple takeoff and land button; has a cool evil robot look. Cons- (I'm being picky) Didn't come with 4-AA joystick batteries; instructions on starting the drone weren't super clear (you have to push the sticks as follows: to the 8 o'clock on the left stick and 4 o'clock on the right stick simultaneously and then hold them there until the drone engines start. This took some trial and error); you'll need a wall plug for the USB charging adapter unless you plan to plug straight into a USB port; phone mount doesn't seem to clamp down properly on the joystick. Easily remedied with a little electrical tape.

For new drone users it’s excellent better than a lot others out there.

1st drone ever purchased and could not be happier with purchase

good as a starter drone, not sure how long it will last as it's light weight plastic and you crash and burn alot as you learn how to fly. But a good starter to learn on how to fly a drone and manuver. Not as easy as it looks, guess it takes some practice

Bought this to learn to fly a drone. Good beginner

Bought this for my 13 yr old for Christmas. No great, I can only compare to my phantom which is not in the same price category. Really lightweight so any kind of wind makes it difficult to operate. Would not be afraid to try other drones in this price point.

This is my first time buying a drone.there was minimal effort to get this toy going.Staight out the box it was assembled all was needed was to fully charge the battery then it was off to the races.

Nice starter drine for a teenager. He received it fit Christmas and loved it! All his friends came over to play with it. It was the hit of the party. I would highly recommend this drone!

had it only for 2months and it stopped charging. could not use it and i eventually do not know where i placed it at. had it on sale so i guess it does not hurt that much

Stabilizes well, the battery lasts about 15 minutes, really fun to use! I love the different modes for experience level.

It was a five gift for my nephew. He seem to master the drone and was about to control it with easy.
