Digital terror by the master of melancholic horror
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent, somber horror film by Japanese master Kiyoshi Kurosawa, responsible for other wonderful, psychological terrors such as Cure (1997) and Retribution (2006). His works tend to subtly address social phenomena - Pulse is his 2001 feature about the Internet, identity, and the digital revolution sucking our souls away. Pulse is one of the few Kurosawa films to make it to Region A blu-ray, released by boutique publisher Arrow Video with lovely artwork and packaging, as well as special features such as interviews with cast and crew, video tribute by director Adam Wingard, and a making-of documentary. Well worth the price. Best Buy shipped quickly and in great condition. I'm thrilled to own this horror masterpiece.

Better than the remake
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just like most horror movies, this original is better than its American remake. They did a decent job, do not get me wrong, but this original outshines the remake by leaps and bounds.

Great Japan Film
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great horror movie originally from Japan. A lot of movies in America are based on Asian cinema. It is a slow burned FYI. Don't expect nonstop frights.

One of the Best J-Horror Films
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. An early 2000s J-Horror film. Incredible disturbing imagery. Film doesn't rely on cheap gore and jump scares to produce definitive horror.
