Wonderful, fanciful, and fun
Posted .I had put the first disk on my NetFlix a while ago, and forgot about it. When I received it and popped it in the DVD player, I was immediately struck by the bright colors used to enhance the story. It's part mystery, part comedy, part drama, part romance. The cast is phenomenal; they work so well together, and their timing is impeccable. The sets, costumes, and make-up are not overdone, and greatly enhance the fairy tale-like reality. With so many shows on the air that are boring, redundant, and excessive, this show is interesting, new, refreshing, and suprisingly tame. There is some inuendos (not enough to catch unless you're looking for it), the language is very tame (a b-word every now and then), and some violence (think Disney violence, like people getting hit in the head and falling down funny). I'm so disappointed that we won't be able to see any more of this show, but I've heard talks of a comic book and a full length movie. I would definitely recommend this show to anyone, anywhere, looking for a new spin instead of the same old shows.

COME FOR THE PIE - STAY FOR THE CHARACTERS!
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis has to be one of the best examples of what TV should (and essentially) could be if you put it in the hands of real talent. Everyone behind and front of the scenes is working grade A performances. Lee Pace and gang have never fit so perfectly in an ensemble using each of their unique talents to deliver some of the best dialog and storytelling. The visuals are an obvious standout but leave it to Creator Bryan Fuller to not focus entirely on special effects and set design. Instead, he shows the value of great characters and character development through intriguing stories. And that, my fellow Daisy fans, is why this series works so well. The biggest frustration, of course, is the cancellation. Why would a show this flawless get canceled? What does ABC have to replace it with anyway? It's just a shame. I highly recommend you buy the series (BluRay is a must for those with HDTVs) and enjoy what you may never see again on TV. Come for the pie - stay for the characters!

Great Show!
Posted .Pushing Daisies is one of the best new shows from the 2007-08 season. It has a great cast. It comes from the writers of Wonderfalls and Dead Like Me and the director of Men in Black. From the beginning, I was intrigued by the set up. After seeing the first episode I was hooked. This is a show that does not have a complicated set up like Lost. My only complaint is that due to the writer's strike, they did not air a full season of shows. This show is very entertaining and would make a great gift or purchase.

Different is good
Posted .This show is excelent and is amazingly told like a story book or fairy tale. The cinematography is amazing as well as the acting. This is the first show of its kind that pulls you in and makes you never want to let go. Its a refreshing change from most of the shows on television which tend to be too serious or not serious enough, the creator of Pushing Daisies knows exactly what they were doing when they made it. Pushing Daisies is a modern-day fairy tale (with a hint of '50s) being narrated to the veiwers.

R.I.P. Pushing Daisies
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendFirst Bluray we bought. It looks awsome on our 720 p LCD TV. Bought this series because we love the show and are mourning its cancelation. The DVD was the writer's strike shortened season of 9 episodes. With the series being canceled, we are anxiously waiting for the release of the 13 episode 2nd (and final) season.

best sitcom on tv
Posted .If not for last year's writer's strike, this show would already be ranked #1 sitcom on TV.
