Unfortunately necessary

The stock one is terrible. I'm giving it 5 stars simply because the strap is good. Its very comfortable and adds little weight to the headset so as not to take away from the experience. But I do believe this should have come with the Quest 3 by default.

Much better than the stock headstrap

Significantly more comfortable than the original strap. Easy to install, just snap the existing side pieces off and this snaps right on. The adjustment wheel is simple to use and quickly gets the tension correct on the headset. The top strap is simple to adjust via velcro and helps distribute the weight well.

The standard strap is just about worthless. But this is a very comfortable and lightweight solution.

Something like the BOBOVR might be more comfortable and at a comparable price. However, this does have the advantage of being, lighter, more compact and easier to travel with.

I feel its alot more comfortable and keeps the headset more secure to my head. I also feel that it balances the weight of the headset and it doesnt feel so front heavy. Great purchase, definitely a must buy for the meta quest.

Easy and Balancing Strap!

Helps balance out the weight of the quest. And makes it easier to put on! I actually really like the elite strap with battery though mainly because of extra battery life and perfected balance
