The Meta Quest 3 Elite Strap in gray promised to be the ultimate accessory for my VR adventures. It boasted improved comfort, secure fit, and a sleek design. However, after just a few months of use, my experience has been marred by a significant quality issue, leaving me questioning its value and durability. Pros: Initial Comfort: Initially, the Elite Strap did provide a more comfortable VR experience compared to the Quest 2's default strap. The weight distribution was better, and the silicone support felt nice against my head. Secure Fit: The dial-adjuster system was convenient and allowed for a more secure fit than the velcro on the original strap. This was helpful for keeping the headset in place during active VR sessions. Sleek Design: The gray color of the strap matched the Quest 3's aesthetic well, creating a more polished look. Cons: Expensive: The price tag of the Elite Strap is high, especially considering my subsequent experience. Durability Nightmare: This is where my positive outlook took a sharp turn. Just a few months of use resulted in a significant crack at the point where the strap meets the headset (see image below). This crack has steadily worsened, compromising the strap's stability and raising concerns about its long-term functionality. Image of Cracked Meta Quest 3 Elite Strap Opens in a new window www.reddit.com Cracked Meta Quest 3 Elite Strap Unclear Instructions: The included instructions were inadequate and lacked detail. This led to confusion when it came to installing and removing the strap, potentially contributing to the issue I encountered. Tight Fit for Many: The strap felt too tight for several friends and family members who tried it, even when adjusted to the loosest setting. This is a significant drawback for users with larger head sizes or those who prefer a looser fit. Overall, the Meta Quest 3 Elite Strap offered a short-lived improvement in comfort but ultimately failed to deliver on its promises of quality and durability. The high price tag coupled with the significant crack issue makes this a disappointing purchase. I cannot recommend it in good conscience, especially considering the potential risks and lack of clear information.

So far I’m enjoying this. It’s more comfortable using the elite strap than the stock strap. It feels lightweight, but durable. So I am not seeing too much extended playing time when using this. I haven’t pushed the battery, so that might be the case. Its adding a little longer playing time, but I’m taking it with a grain of salt that this will double your play time. I’m able to make the quick adjustments on this device faster than the default stock one. It makes passing this between my wife and I easier. I can tell while using it that it helps alleviate some of the weight and pressure than the stock headset. It feels compact and and lightweight, so I’m really happy about that. Pros: Comfort Feels more sturdy Battery built in Extends the battery life Cons: Price How long will battery last? Overall: It does it job, but I’m really hesitant to recommend it at this price tag. I’m starting to use the vr device more and more, so time will tell if it actually doubles the battery life. I do enjoy the comfort of this more than the stock strap, so I consider that a win. But the $129 price might limit some potential purchasers.

While the strap included with the Quest 3 is comfortable, the Elite strap improves on the basic design. The first part is with the plastic loop makes it easier to quickly grab the Quest 3 and put it on without worry about the strap getting twisted. The next part is with the sides being rigid and away from your head it doesn’t put pressure on your ears. Finally, it also is easy to adjust because you can tighten or loosen with a simple twist of the dial on the back. You can even adjust it with one hand while using the headset. It locks each time it clicks, and the adjustments are very small so you can fine tune the fit. The nice part is it also stays centered so there is no need to worry about accidentally tightening the strap on one side more. If there was any downside compared to the standard strap is that it does add some weight. While overall it is more comfortable it does put the pressure on the front and back of your head versus all around. It is a tradeoff but it better than having a strap pressing on your ears. If you have a Quest 3 the Elite Strap is a nice addition if it’s in your budget.

    More Comfortable VR Experience

Meta – Quest 3 Elite Strap - Gray My Overall Impression Nice upgrade over the standard strap that comes with the Meta Quest 3. Softer material, more comfortable, and easier to adjust. What Worked Well *Upgraded Appearance – First of all, this just looks better than the original. More plastic, and less of the stretched out looking strap material. *Softer Material – The adjustable strap material is softer and more comfortable on the top of the head. Silicone component at the back of the head is much better than just a strap. *Plastic Wheel – The plastic wheel at the back turns to tighten or loosen your fit. This works much better than sliding the stretchy material on the original strap. It also stays put once you have it in position. The original strap would slide back and you’d have to adjust it occasionally. The plastic wheel is similar to the nicer construction hard hats, and those are designed to stay put. *Sharing Headset – The plastic wheel make it a little easier if you want to share the headset with others. It makes it much easier and faster to adjust the strap and saves a little battery in the process. What Could Have Been Better *Instructions – The instructions that come with it could have been clearer, particularly the section about removing the existing straps. Don’t want to break the part that is attached to the Meta Quest. *Case Storage – It’s slightly more difficult to fit it in the case for the Meta Quest 3. Still works just fine though, so it’s not a big deal. Final Conclusion I am giving the Meta Quest 3 a 5 star rating. It’s a good upgrade to make your VR experience much more comfortable.

I recently got the Meta Quest 3 Elite Strap, and it has been a fantastic upgrade. The strap greatly improves comfort during long VR sessions, providing much better weight distribution compared to the standard strap. It feels sturdy and secure, making the headset sit more comfortably on my head without constantly needing adjustments. The dial at the back makes it easy to get the perfect fit, and overall, it adds a premium feel to the Quest 3. If you spend a lot of time in VR, this strap is well worth the investment—it enhances the overall experience significantly.

In Meta’s quest to make quality VR more financially accessible they skimp on certain things to keep costs down. Unfortunately in the case of the headstrap that means they nickle and dime you into what amounts to an essential upgrade that should have been the standard in the first place. If you own or plan to own a quest 3, factor this into the cost. The original headstrap gave me a headache within 20 minutes. This one allows me to have a full length seasion without a problem.

The strap that comes with the headset didn't feel secure when wearing the VR system. I remember a friend recommended this hear gear and we love it. It feels so much better, and I don't worry about it falling off while I play a game or work out. If you plan on getting a VR system, then add this to your budget the same day you buy the system. you will not regret it.

The Elite Strap feels great. There's no other way to put it other than that it feels great. I would honestly prefer for Meta to sell the Quest 3 at a higher price but include this strap for how much of a necessity it is. The included strap results in neck strain in long sessions, which are normally not possible with the battery life. If you use the Quest 3 for desktop VR and have the capability to play for much longer then this accessory is a no-brainer. Getting immersed into a long session in No Man's Sky is almost too easy with this strap on. I've had hours fly by in which I don't feel that the headset is even really on. It feels much more snug around my head and doesn't move around at all. The only issue that I had was installing the strap. Getting the top strap threaded through to the front bracket took a bit of effort, but that could also just be my fault. If you're having issues with the original strap, then definitely pick this up.

The elite strap is better than the default strap in basically every way. Easier to put on and adjust. Better balanced. More comfortable. The only downside is the price and the fact that it doesn't come with the Meta Quest 3 by default.

I bought this to replace the dirty, disgusting fabric headband that came on my sons quest 3, and boy is it an upgrade! Easy installation took about 30 seconds, and very easy to adjust to any size head. Slips on and off your noggin with ease. Way better being almost entirely plastic, so it doesnt get dirty from handling. No complaints!

Very cool. Fits very nicely. There are cheaper options but then again meta is selling the quest 3 at almost a loss. They’re relying on accessories for profits and the headset is an incredible value. If you feel like supporting a multi billion dollar corporation for their sacrifice go ahead and buy the original one. If you want a power bank with the headstrap for the better price then get a third party. Idk whatever, good product overall tbh.

Comfortable strap and the ease of adjustment on the back is nice. I will say installing the Elite Straps is nerve racking since you have to pop off the plastic cowl at the front of the headset. Plastic and I don't get along, so always think it will break. I initially was going to swap between this and the Elite Strap w/ battery, but now that I have the Elite Srap w/ battery installed it will be staying there so I don't accidentally break the plastic cowl.

I have a Quest 2 and Quest 3 and now have an official Elite Strap on both. I feel like the material may be a bit stronger on the Quest 3 strap, but it fits a little differently than the Quest 2 version. It could just be my head, but it seems to cradle it a bit higher than the Quest 2 version and that makes it feel slightly less sturdy on my head. I'd still recommend it, though I feel the price is definitely higher than it should be... just like all other official Meta accessories.

The elastic strap is feeble and will not be able to withstand a lot of head movement without readjusting. The Elite strap fixes all the issues I have with the elastic strap and then some. The tightening mechanism is similar to some hard hat safety helmets with the rotating wheel, so it feels very satisfying getting the correct fit everytime. Must have if you own the Quest 3. Throw the elastic strap in the garbage where it belongs.

I just had to share my excitement about the Elite Head Strap I recently picked up for my Quest. I mean, WOW! This thing has totally upped my VR game, and I'm thrilled with it. Let me break down why I think it's a must-have for anyone into virtual reality. Only thing is the price is NOT at all accurate to it's value, this thing should be $100 cheaper just like every other 3rd party strap that is just as good or better.
