I’m not sure whether it’s on the bank’s end or Quicken, but I have two accounts that won’t consistently update. I like the overall performance though, just need to get the accounts figured out.

I have been a Quicken user for many years. I'm not in love with new format as compared to some of the older versions but it's still very useful.

Getting better

The Mac version of Quicken has been an apparent afterthought to the Windows version. It was buggy, lacking features and awkward. This version is a good step in the right direction. Although its features are still behind those of the Windows version, it is less buggy and more usable. Hopefully, Quicken delivers on its promise to continue improving.

I was looking for software to help me budget and keep detail records of transactions for various accounts. Quicken did the job! Love that I can look at reports to keep myself update on where everything is.

I'm a long term Quicken user and find the software a convenient way to keep a handle on my checking account. Quicken is useful for generating reports and filtering on past expenditures. One thing they can improve is to automatically increment the check number for new transactions. This was a feature in an old Windows version that I used before I went to a Mac. So not sure if this is a Mac specific limitation or they eliminated this feature across the board. Or there is a way to enable that I have not figured out.

Great software from one of the leaders in financial tools. Automatically downloads your bank statements and helps track all of your transactions. Makes budgeting even easier. Find your greatest expenditures, tighten up your budget and find that extra you have needed, right in the money you are already making!

I needed to buy this software as an upgrade from an older version in order to do my taxes. Everything worked out great other than I needed to upgrade my Mac OS which is kind of scarey, but it worked out fine. All my old information downloaded as if I hadn't changed a thing.

great product with poor advice from best buy

The product is fine and does its job well. The necessary support from Quicken to get it working on a Sunday night was amazing. I did receive bad advice from a sales associate at Best Buy. Since my CPU is an IMAC, there isn't a way to use the DVD. I asked the associate if this product would have the necessary registration codes that would allow me to download a version and install it on the Mac. He assured me that it had everything I needed. When I got the software home, all that was inside the package was a DVD and no codes. As mentioned the support at Quicken was very good. I took a picture of the DVD and emailed it to them and they authorized a download at that point. So, in the end, I wasted time (and gas money) to go to Best Buy to get a product that wouldn't work with my configuration, I would have been better off just buying it off the Quicken website and downloaded it for about the same price and save the trip to BB.

Great for the basic user. I need to something that would keep books for my rentals. And it does just that without being too complicated. However be aware that the program changes every 2 to 4 years and you need to register this program and updated as needed. After this period of time it will be forced to purchase a new update either online or from Best Buy. If you don't you better back it up before the program changes and you're locked out.
This happened to me and I went online and got a foreign, India, technician. Even though they were able to signed me on at a higher price their contract only lasted one year and I was locked out again. I got smart and went to Best Buy and purchase the CD and reinstalled Everything married up again and I was up and running with no problems

Works well. Budgeting setup is still cumbersome. Still lacks features that the PC version has. Not as intuitive as the PC version, but it's getting better.
If you do not have a financial program yet it's not a bad start.

Bought a MacBook and had to transfer from PC. My previous version of Quicken was old, so didn't transfer well-started from scratch. The reason I kept the older version was because of the custom reports, although the current version has custom reports there are not as many options.

Good Product - not as good as the Windows Version

I've read horrible reviews of the Mac version of this, so I was hesitant to try it. Since I only use the basic features for checkbook balancing - I gave it a shot. While even this basic functionality is not as good as the windows version - it is OK and I'm glad I bought it. The reconcile process takes a bit to get use to, but after a while it is OK - just not as straight forward as the windows version. So, if you are moving from Windows to Mac on this - don't expect it to be as good -- but using this is better than switching to your PC to do the work (in my case, switching to my Win10 VM thru Parallels)

As a former MS Money user, it took a little while to get used to Quicken. And, a few of my financial institutions don't connect with Quicken, so that makes things less automated. But, now that I have figured out Quicken I am happy with it.

I went from Quicken 2004 to 2017. I wasn't able to transfer all my old files but that is okay. I just created new accounts and transferred balances for a fresh start. I like Quicken 2017 a lot but there is a slight learning curve.
