This is our third Rachio. The new weather monitoring is much more accurate than the previous version. Setup is simple and straightforward. Once setup there’s not much else to do but let it do its thing.

Installed the control easily with good directions form the box. Set it up in a few minutes and already can see the savings in water use.
It also made clearing the lines for the fall a lot easier as I can turn zones on ad off more easily.

Bought on Earth Day at cheaper price than the older 8 zone model. Only have 8 zones on my system, but this had more features and allows for future expansion if needed.
Installed myself (not an irrigation guy, but somewhat of a techy). Was a little confusing mapping the wires from my old system. Took some trial and error and referencing some online guides from Rachio. Looks a heck of alot better on my wall than the old one.
Has been up and running now for almost a year. Very reliable. Easy to get basic schedules setup. Lots of advanced options available. Definitely helps keep our plants green in Dallas, TX once it is set right.

I liked the Rachio 3. Installation was quick and easy and dry run using manual button is very nice as it is handy. Instructions were clear to switch to Rachio machine and I highly recommend to use this.

My water bill went from $800 to $200, no exaggeration, even BEFORE getting the Rachio Flowmeter. The controller when I bought the house made it so difficult to figure out what zone was what, to trouble shoot, to set up a schedule, and FORGET troubleshooting! I had a Hunter controller, so installing and setting this up myself was super easy. Now, I can watch my yard respond for a couple weeks, tweak here and there, and like I said, get to a point where I'm saving $600/mo with a beautiful yard! When this season started, the Flowmeter helped alert me to two sprinkler heads that broke, and I'd never have known. Love this thing!

This sprinkler control is a top of the line, all inclusive! Multiple ways to set it up. You can even take a picture of each zone so that you know where your sprinklers are located. It coordinates with multiple weather satellites to stop system if your property is getting rain. Mine just reset time on the zones because of data from last years weather in my area. Excellent product!

All I can say is WOW. Never had a sprinkler controller like this before. Connects to app on phone, works flawlessly. During initial set up, take pictures of the zones helps when you need to run just one - takes the guess work out. It also connects via satellite and predicts the exact rainfall and expected rainfall to automatically run or stop a scheduled run. Based on it's automation, I have saved enough from my water bill to pay for this. Highly recommend to people in Florida that pay both water and sewer.

Overall, this controller is great. Easy step by step instructions on how to replace the existing and setup the new one. This would get 5 stars if there wasn't one big issue, network connectivity. The issue is that if network connectivity is interrupted (power, loss of internet, etc), the unit attempts to connect and appears to be recycling between step 2 and 3, but won't connect back to the network. The only thing I've come up with is unplugging and plugging it back it in solves the problem every time. I thought that putting a light timer on the outlet to have it recycle daily would help, but oddly enough, it did not.
Otherwise, it is a great controller, plenty of configuration options and advanced options for those that really want to fine-tune their watering needs.

Installation is painfully easy. The rachio app is reliable. The software is fantastic - doesn't water your lawn when it rains or moisture is too much, notates how much water is being used, etc, etc, customizability is awesome, but really the best part of this is how you just hook it up and it just..does its thing. Honestly, i'm not so great with lawncare, and this thing just waters when it needs it once you set it up, no thought involved.
Minus one star for the amount of advertising that the app / rachio bombards you with at every corner though. They try to use this as a gateway into their ecosystem to get you to spend more money on lawn stuff, so it's a little bit spammy. But aside from that, this is incredible.

I have been very impressed with my new Rachio 3. It was simple to take out my old Rain Bird unit and wire in the Rachio, took less than an hour while taking my time.
WiFi hasn't had any issues, and integration with my Android smart phone makes me wonder why I didn't do this sooner! Jury is still out on how much this will save me on my water bill, but regardless the grass and plants are happy and so are we with our new Rachio 3.

It was an easy replacement for my old timer-based system. The tie-in to weather forecast/data is what I was looking for and has worked well this summer. I would like a better way to tweak the watering time in the app, but it does tie to your soil type. I didn't bother adding the rain sensor because it gets data off the internet.

Fairly easy to set up, had to mess with the app a little to get it all straightened out but nothing traumatic. Works great. Love that I can work the system with my phone!
Installation didn’t seem very difficult. If it ever rains in CA I look forward to seeing it do it’s magic and skip the watering!
Also the DWP rebate nearly paid for all
Of it!

Unbelievable. If you're interested in doing your irrigation right, you really need to look hard and long into this product. We have the 16-zone only because we have 10 zones to cover. The support is fantastic (community and company support); easy to install; many, many unique adjustments.

Automating the sprinklers saved me a lot of water overall. Some months it skipped more than 50% of the runs due to rain or more shade during the day. Helps set quick runs after adding fertilizers or frequent runs in seeded areas.
Rachio should come up with a lower cost 4 zone model.
