So easy to set up. Remember to take pic of wiring in old unit before unhooking and replacing. App is awesome, and allows me to soak my neighbor if he encroaches on my property line when mowing. Love the auto skip feature linked to weather too. No brainer purchase, especially for those still fiddling around with old systems like rainbird.

If you think this looks like something Apple would put out, then you have an idea of how well it works. It's so refreshing when you find a product that makes life EASIER! This thing is amazing. It looks great, it functions great, and it saves me money! What's not to love? With how rainy it's been so far this summer, it's well on its way to paying for itself versus my old 'dumb' controller. Plus I'm not having to clean my sidewalk off all the time from the excess water running out of my lawn because it was saturated from my old system running after (or even during) a rainstorm.

The Rachio 8-zone 3rd generation controller is user friendly but requires programming via a smart cell (android or apple0. There are no analog meters, LED screens nor on/off buttons on the unit itself. Everything is programmable via the cellphone. I mounted the Rachio on the outside garden wall in a weatherproof box. You will need WIFI coverage to operate this controller. The controller monitors local weather conditions to save water if it is raining!

We gave this controller to our son and DIL for their new home and it has been great - living in FL and having a toddler, not having to worry about irrigating too much or too little is so helpful. Not only that, but the weather algorithums save valuable water and monthly costs. It was easy to install and they have had no issues with it since Day 1. Definitely recommend.

This was a snap to install. Take a picture of your current controller wiring. Remove old controller, mount Rachio, and insert corresponding zone wiring into zone label on Rachio. The only installation issue I had was the mobile device I tried to use. It did not like my iPhone 11. Had to use an older iPhone 8. The software was easy to set up, label the zones, and set a schedule. This controller lets you water your yard in several increments to reduce runoff which is a big water saver.

I absolutely love my Rachio 8 zone smart sprinkler controller. I like how it lets me know the moisture level in the ground so that I can adjust the watering. I also like that it will automatically skip a watering when it is not needed during the winter. Thank you.

Definitely makes watering very easy. Custom programming spaces out the watering not only by the day but by the session. So if it runs for 40 minutes it'll go for 10 minutes in each station then come back around again so it doesn't soak the lawn. I can also turn on temporarily remotely if I want. Almost certainly saves water.

Super-easy to transfer all my old wiring. Simple wall mount. Unit itself is handsome and you can customize the brightness of the light. It was easy to connect to my home network and phone. The APP is fantastic, very user-intuitive and easy to setup my zones. BONUS: it's already saving me money with the location-based weather alerts that know how much moisture has fallen and will fall and when to skip watering because! Can't recommend this unit enough!

This has been absolutely fantastic. It was very easy to install, with a nice guided process right in the app. The device is well built and easy to mount. Only a slight issue, the magnetic plate that attaches to the front to hide the connections is a bit weak. Magnets could be a bit stronger to hold it in place better. Programming was fairly straightforward and I was able to set up and name the two zones I have. I love the notifications when things run, I love the ability to do an ad hoc watering at the touch of a button. Also, the intelligent weather skip feature is fantastic. It saves so much water simply by not watering in the rain or when the ground is wet. And it even tells me it's gonna skip! I did have difficulty during setup adding this device to my Apple HomeKit app, a known issue at the time. Honestly, I am a huge HomeKit fan and I use it a ton, but I found I didn't really need the sprinklers in the Home App. However, recently I tried again and they appear to have fixed whatever software issue was causing the addition to HomeKit to fail. It worked beautifully and now my sprinklers are in the Home app too. I highly recommend this controller. It's everything I wanted and more!

I really love this system. It took me about 30 min to install and set up and now I just ignore it. It will skip watering if it rains. It will adjust days based on the temperature. I can look at my phone to see when it waters and how much it has watered this month. The zones are detailed on what is in them and what the soil is like then it tells you how much water it needs. It waters in spurts to cut down on runoff.

Very easy to install and the connectivity was seamless. The app is great and reminders are awesome.

Its a great product if you like doing everything on your app. It automatically decides the irrigation cycles for you based on weather patterns so once its set up, you can pretty much forget about it. The set up was intuitive however you need to buy a separate outdoor box for it.

This device does what it says it does, its a smart sprinklers, the only problem i had was setting it up with my samsung s20, it wasnt connecting to my wifi, but i used an ipad and it was done very quick, i highly recommend this device, its exactly what i was expecting.

Liked this product saves water. Knows how much to water and knows when not to water with weather updates through wifi and the net it knows how the weather's is and if it going to rain it will stop water a few days before and will not water on a rainy day so you save money. Also great to test to see which sprinklers don't work when your out side with full control of your system out side

What an upgrade from my 2004 system! I have complete control of my zones now and I love the sprinkler head mapping. Now that you can integrate a personal weather station, this will save money and be the most accurate system available

Bought this to replace a very old controller in my home that had not been functional for years. It was easy and straightforward to connect--real plug and play. The Rachio app is great for controlling the various zones and is very user friendly. No complaints!

Easy to follow instructions, no more manually powering on my sprinklers, saved my grass and water bill. Solid product, would recommend!

This was an easy install and upgrade to my 20 year old controller. The hardest part is setting up your zones in the app and getting the timing down. Once that’s done you can run it in flex mode and it factors in your local weather and soil type to create an automatic schedule. I have not tried the manual buttons on the controller, but I did my own blowout this year using the app and the quick run feature. Knocked a star for price, I see it for much cheaper now that the season has ended.

Took about 10 min to swap out old 8 station with Rachio controller. App is very intuitive and extremely easy to operate. Old controller required many trips to the garage to operate zone control. Since it also samples weather trend information in the area, it makes it very easy to save water by missing a watering day or two. Very satisfied with the purchase.
