Dont know why I waited that long. Always had my eyes on Rachio, but always ended up not ordering it with the idea that I already have an electronic sprinkler, not a smart one, only manual scheduling. Didnt realize how much i was missing until buying this. It checks the weather for rain, temperature, wind etc and makes decisions based on the information. I sodnt need to do anything. So long the days I see my system watering the yard when it is raining. Installation and setting the ap were a breeze. Get one today and thank me later.

Excellent controller, easy to connect. Working perfectly fine and with wifi ability and weather sensor that stop water sprinklers when raining, it saves good deal of water that could have been wasted

I had an older version on a previous property. This one is leaps and bounds above with the ability to map your yard using satellite, and using tons of weather stations instead of one. Great app, great device. Watering the lawn has never been easier.

I have been impressed by our Rachio since our purchase. After a few months of usage i can tell that our water usage has reduced which is the main point! No more do i have to wake up at 3am to turn off the sprinklers when its raining. I have been using the daily flex setting and it has done a great job thus far. Also the ability to manage from afar while on travel is really nice. I would recommend this to anyone. Will take a bit of getting used to as its not particularly easy to run the system from the unit itself. Easiest to use a smart phone, which is a change from normal, but not to terrible once you are used to it. Integration with google home is only minimal (doesn't show up in your home). You have to ask google to talk to "Rachio" and then you can interface. A bit annoying and we haven't used it much. Would like to have ability to control through google home app, so i don't need so many apps on my phone for various devices.

This is one of the best products I've invested in. Installing was super easy, but one should be prepared with all the tools and plan out before just diving into installation process. Specifically location, mounting it on a stud or dry wall, indoor/outdoor. It took about 30 minutes to remove the old unit and install new unit. Setting up took another 20 minutes on phone app and testing another 5 min. All in all it was a breeze, already running for days now and no issues. I would definitely recommend this product, their app is also easy to use, one has to get used to it. I am hoping to save a bunch on water bill, let's see how it performs, I will update once I have it running for few months in Spring.

Easy to install and use. The app makes identifying zones and watering the lawn much easier than my old controller.

This device is great. Works awesome and gives a lot of details regarding water usage and schedules. The only thing that does not work great is the automatic soil saturation determination. I am trying to get my grass to grow back after lack of watering and the device skips watering events because it thinks the solid has enough water. That could be the way I set it up though so I will try to adjust. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the price is very high.

Very easy install and great app that works anywhere. Love the wind skip and used my existing prior rain sensor to make it conserve even more.

Almost too many options but once you get it setup, it's nice to be able to control the irrigation system from your phone, web, or Alexa. Install time was right around 30-45 min. The main issue I had was not enough wire lead from my previous system, not any issue of Rachio. The phone and web app to me does seem a little ambiguous and takes a little trial and error to setup because you don't quite know if it's going to do what you want it to do till you review the history. Some watering options lock you into a specific schedule and you can't manually change so you have to setup again using a different method to gain more flexibility. But as stated, once you figure what works for you and setup, you can just let it go. Auto seasonal adjustments are nice but again, you have to let go and trust Rachio to do the right thing.

Replaced our old controller with the Rachio and it’s been the best decision. This controller can be controlled with a smart phone and can be linked with the local weather to optimize your watering. Also super easy to set up.

Got the Racio-8-Zone 3rd Generation Smart Sprinkler Controller for my husband's birthday. I am glad that I did, that a few days before his birthday he complained that he wished he could set the sprinklers from his phone. Yep, good wife listened...lol Anyways, it is nice to set up your system on your phone, versus running back and forth to set the sprinklers on or off, or even just to ensure all zones are being watered. In addition, this system is very nice and sends you notifications to inform you that it will be raining and therefore, will not be waisting water. We are very please with this easy-to-use system.

I bought this thing on sale because I was getting tired of trying to catch the dumb sprinkler controller in the mornings when it would rain to prevent wasted water. We received a rebate from our local water utility that covered almost half the cost of the Rachio. The first month using the Rachio our bill was $100 less than the lowest previous month. Between these two savings, it has paid for itself in the first 30 days of use. Setup was super easy and the app has a lot of really cool features. It even allows you to draw the layout of your system and specify the type of sprinkler heads and plants on each watering cycle to most accurately estimate water needs.

Great product, easy set up, no issues at all, and amazing features from just a manual one. You start to learn a lot more about your lawn and it’s health.

Loving this device. Easy to install and set up. Uses iOS or Android apps for setup and monitoring. Has a ton of smart features nobody else is offering. So worth a little bit extra over the v.2 device as well as its competitors.

This is easilly doable by yourself. Just take a picture of your wires and then disconnect them. Reattach them in the same slot on the Rachio and enjoy. The app is exactly what you want for a smart sprinkler system!
