Overall, I like this bike. I would recommend buying this bike if you want the fastest speeds, a comfortable riding position, and good practicality for commuting. It is my first Rad Power Bike, but I have owned an REI Gen e2.1 before this, so I have some experience with e-bikes. My use case: I commute a few miles each way to work in a city environment, as well as use it to get around town for leisure and to get groceries. Pros: 1. Fast and Stable - Due to the size of this bike, its large tires, and the 750W motor, I can easily ride at 28 mph on straight stretches of road without feeling unstable or in danger. The motor has great torque as well, much better than my last e-bike. The swept-back handlebars and upright sitting position lend to a very comfortable riding position I can maintain for quite a while with no back, arm, or wrist issues. 2. Practical - The rear rack enables this bike to be very useful for things like commuting to work, going to the grocery store, meeting friends at the beach for a cookout, strapping body boards on the side to catch some waves, and more. I have used a basket on top, a pannier backpack, traditional pannier bags, and more to carry stuff on here, and it works like a dream. If you’re using a bike as your one mode of transport, I would not get a bike with a rack weight limit less than this 55 lbs limit. 3. Good Stopping Power - I have had cars and trucks pull out of side streets right in front of me while I’m going 20+ mph and been able to stop very quickly to avoid a crash. 4. Good Technology - The display is clean and bright. The throttle is a godsend for moving from a stop. The front and back taillights are very effective at making yourself seen at night. The option to change classes is nice for letting people demo. The security feature is also cool, albeit I never leave it where I need to use it. 5. Stylish - The bright blue is very attractive in person and is well done. I have received several compliments from friends and passersby on the look and color of my bike. I have also spent several hundred miles out on this thing in rain or shine, as well as some bumps and scrapes with little-to-no damage to the paint job. Cons: 1. Big and Heavy - this bike is not great if you have to carry it up/down staircases. I do everything I can to find alternate paths or elevators to avoid carrying this bike. Coming in at 75 lbs, this is far from the lightest e-bike, and I have required help getting it down a narrow staircase in my work building. The larger wheelbase also means that it can be hard to fit in small elevators and around tight corners, but I can usually make it work. 2. (Situationally) Uncomfortable - My city has quite terrible road conditions; when you’re cruising at 28 mph and hit a deformation in the road, it hurts a lot worse than if you’re riding at normal bike speeds. I purchased a REDSHIFT suspension post to replace the OEM offering, and it made a world of difference. If there was one thing I could recommend to drastically improve the ride quality, it would be to get a suspension post. Large potholes and similar issues will still not feel great, but your backside won’t be sore for the next week. 3. Issues with First Gear: I’m not sure this is universal, but I have issues with my first gear making a rattling sound. I have had this adjusted by a bike shop 2 times now, and within 20 miles of riding, it happens again. This may be an issue with the derailleur coming slightly loose, I’m not sure. Neutrals: 1. Gearing Designed For E-Assist: This is both a pro and a con, so I’m calling it neutral. The gearing, especially the top-end, is great for e-bike cruising speeds. You don’t find yourself spinning your pedals wildly at 28 mph to get traction (which is an issue some poorly tuned e-bikes can have). It feels very good to shift up and down as you speed up or slow down. However, riding without e-assist does become a chore, and the gearing only allows you to use the bottom 3 gears. It can be annoying to find a good rhythm when riding on slight hills, and the jump from first-to-second-to-third gear can be too much for riding any sort of large distance.

This is a fabulous bike. Super powerful. Long-lasting battery. I can ride to work and home - 20 miles each way problem free. The power assist through the pedals or throttle make it a fun and effortless ride or I can dial down the assistance and get a great workout. I love this ebike so much that now my spouse has one to match. Rides together are a blast.
