Save your money…
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I decided to purchase the Radenso radar detector after reading/seeing so many positive reviews on the Best Buy app while in-store at a location in West Little Rock, AR. To sum up my experience, I regret purchasing this Radenso unit because the detection technology is no more reliable than the MUCH older (and cheaper) Cobra unit I was trying to replace. I live in a rural, small town and it misses local law enforcement 99% of the time… To make matters worse, the sales representative neglected to tell me the return period was only 15 days.

Radenso DS1 Radar Detector
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Radenso DS1 at a really good sale price and chose this over Escort and Uniden models based on reviews I saw on the web for it's ability to pick up radar at longer ranges. Out of the box, the detector seemed to work fine for a few days prior to taking a 2300 mile trip that I specifically purchased this for. Into the trip, I finally got an opportunity to do a firmware update on the device. The firmware update started and about halfway through the device literally died. It would not power on again. It felt warm to the touch and I tried again to power it up once it stayed unplugged for a while, but to no avail. The fuses in the power cord and the car's cigarette lighter position were not blown. I stopped at a Best Buy in a city along my trip and they were very supportive in offering me an exchange. I opted to go with another brand and paid more, but I did not want to risk another situation such as this happening again if I did firmware updates.

Good but not great
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Product works good but not great. There have been times that I know that radar was being used and got no alarm.

Good Radar for Price
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great device especially for newer vehicles without the car lighter plug. This works great with usb c plugin in the car, but make sure you update the firmware from the website. Company is also very helpful with assisting with any issues. However, I wish it would include the function of indicating the direction the radar signal is coming from.

Not bad for $400
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its a decent radar. For $400 it would be even better if you could personalize the codes into names

Excellent radar
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first time I used a radar detector on a long driving trip and I was pleased with the performance. On city roads, the radar detector tends to pickup a lot of K band signals. However, it was easy enough to mute it either from the mute button on the radar detector or on the car charger. Supposedly, it learns such static source of signals if you pass by the same spot multiple times and mutes them automatically so that they don't bother you in the future. In my limited passing by law enforcement officers, the radar detector reliably detected Ka band signals and alarmed me beforehand. Obviously, one shouldn't be overspeeding but on country roads and during sudden speed limit changes, it's ideal to have one of these devices setup in your car especially if you are driving in a new area. The device comes with a USB charger, magnetic mount and carrying case. The carrying case is of high quality and the magnetic mount is easy to use once you get a hang of it. The display is a basic OLED screen on which multiple colors are available. Overall, I am happy with the device and would suggest to get it if you tend to drive out into new roads every now and then.

If offers many features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Radenso - Radar Detector DS1 Included- Radar Detector, suction cup mount, USB-C power adapter, storage case, manual, and 1 year limited ticket free warranty. The Radenso Radar Detector boasts many features so that you can drive with the peace of mind that you will not get a ticket. This is my first radar detector and so it does seem quite complicated to me. The device was packaged well. The hard case that is included is very impressive and high quality. Installing the suction cup mount was very simple. I really appreciate the magnetic quick release of the device from the mount. It makes it really easy to store the device. I do find sometimes the magnet has to really be exact to be secure, otherwise it falls down from the weight of the power adapter. The OLED display made it very easy to read. There are controls for power, the volume, the menu and mute. Some of the best features of the Redenso radar detector is the long detection range from a magnesium-alloy radar antenna, GPS auto-lock outs that improve the more you drive, it's advanced technology will auto-learn to avoid false alarms, and includes a free comprehensive red light and speed camera database. The device is compatible with PC and Mac to receive software updates. The biggest thing I had trouble with is trying to figure out the menu and submenu settings. I used the Radar Detector mostly at night in the dark. When it would alert me, I was never able to visually confirm any police but it was at least nice to know that there was the possibility of one being close by so I knew to be careful. I wish the Radenso Radar Detector was a little bit more user friendly to someone like myself, but I can tell this detector means serious business. It is sure to help you on your drive. Better safe than sorry.

I feel the need... the need for speed
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will admit that I had never heard the name Radenso before I received this radar detector. After using it for a couple of weeks I'm surprised I hadn't heard of them. This detector is feature rich. It will be interesting to see what the Radenso Thea is like when it's finally released. It promises to take detectors to the next level with AI. But for now I'll settle for the DS1 and its capabilities. I usually don't use radar dectectors other than maybe a long trip where speed zones change frequently and you can easily get caught off guard and ticketed if you had your cruise control on and not paying attention. For those cases radar detectors are a great safeguard. If you tend to push the limits regularly then a decent detector with long range would be needed. The DS1 fits both of these cases almost perfectly. While I haven't personally tested this but I hear that it has a very low signal signature so that law enforcement won't know you are rocking a radar detector unless they are right on top of you. Stealth!! I already owned another brand that has been used off and on, mainly because it has a dash camera piggy backing, so I really wasn't looking for another unit. But after doing some homework the DS1 has the longest range of others in it's class. It also has GPS so it will remember false hits and automatically lock them out so you won't be annoyed by them the next time you come through that area. Awesome!!!! The cord is more than adequate and the 12V plug has a mute button and a pass through USB type A port. Super convenient! The business end of the cable is a USB C. I'm thrilled that electronics manufacturers are starting to standardize on USB C ports. It makes things much easier and reduces the number of cables you have to lug around (except for iPhone... come on Apple, time to switch from the lightning port). I am a huge fan of Blendmount adapters and I hope they come up with one for the DS1. I'm kinda on the fence on the quick release magnet mount. Honestly I don't leave the base in my car because it's a flag to potential thieves wanting a quick smash and grab. So bulk of mount plus the offset between the dector and the mount make it a mehhhh for me. I'd rather have something with a lower profile and smaller base. One big plus is that the attachment to the detector itself to the mounting arm is a standard camera screw (1/4" x 20 so users might be able to hack their own mounting solution. I've got to give that a try myself, heck I can easily see myself using a small flexible camera tripod with legs that you can wrap around the mirror, or in my Jeep's case I have an accessory rail with Ram mount hardware. Hmmm... maybe a GoPro mount would work... (wheels turning in my head). A few things I like about this detector are: - Auto lockout - Remote mute button - Display color settings (helps stealth out the unit) A few things I don't like about it are: - Price is a tad high. - The magnet windshield mount does not make me happy

Lots of false alerts
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like the look of unit, and the weight was not heavy at all. Unfortunately, the lightweight aspect may play a part in its inability to stay attached to the slide in/magnetic mount…one big bump or pothole, and it will fall right off the mount. It may cover all the bands, but just too many alerts for me, mostly false ones.

Extremely long range!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This detector puts my Escort iXc to shame, and the Escort is no slouch! I ran them side by side for several days - the Radenso picked up signals with 1/4 mile before the Escort did , and with many less false detections! I additionally liked how the Radenso's lighting can be adjusted to better match the lighting theme inside your vehicle. Mounting system works extremely well - I like the magnetized mount as you can easily remove the detector to prevent theft . The USB-C power is something more detectors need to go to as well ! Great detector - highly recommended!

Uniden R3 > DS1
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall would not recommend. I upgraded from the R3 because I thought it was supposed to be a little bit better. The detector takes way to long to alert to a Ka band presence. If your doing 85 on the highway, by the time it alerts you it is too late. My R3 ($299) worked much better and I highly recommend it in favor of this one. Basically identical features.

Remarkable
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't had a radar detector since 2002 and I bought that one back in 95. It used to annoy me every time I'd drive by a store with automatic doors. Those constant chirping made me turn it off in the city. Eventually I just quit using it for anything other than highway driving. I can not believe how far they've come since then. False alert detection that it remembers by GPS coordinates. Auto dimming OLED display. Camera light alerts. Holy smokes if they added a dash cam it would be everything you need to protect yourself while driving. Set up is easy, but if you download the app it's even easier. The app is no-nonsense and no frills but gives you everything you'll need. It makes tweaking a whole lot easier than fidgeting with buttons. Plus it can get updates from the Android app. My biggest disappointment is that so far I haven't detected any radars on the highway. They're doing massive amounts of construction on my 50mi trip to work and people are always doing 80 in a 60 work zone...yet no cops around. You'd figure they'd be out there with the bonus bucks tagged on to speeding in work zones, but nope, not a peep. Since the summer cops have been rare on that highly popular stretch of highway. In the city I passed by a gas station that would trigger the K band. Two days in a row it would go off. On the third the Radenso D1 determined it to be a false signal and now blocks it. Amazing! In a few weeks I'll be traveling to Charlotte so I might get a real test plus traffic cams test. I can't wait to see what it can really do!

Not as good as advertised
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needs more range. Updated firmware and drove through state of Illinois. Every police officer using radar in the median of the intersection was not detected. I didn’t see a laser gun on other vehicles as I drove by. Luckily didn’t get pulled over.
