Excellent Way to Monitor Tire Pressure
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this so I can tell which tire is low when I get a low tire pressure warning. Perfect solution to monitor each and every tire's pressure.

App needs serious work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The hardware works reasonably well and it was easy to install. You have (4) Tire Valve PSI sensors, Central Hub, micro usb cable and a typical car power adapter. Once physically connected, it required driving a few miles before all the sensors were detected. I just leave the hub connected to my center console which has power. The valve sensors have a nut to supposedly "lock" the device. I don't see how it secures it as I'm able to twist them off no matter how tight I screw the nut to the sensor. I think all valve based TPMS sensors are like this so its not really a big deal. My biggest gripe is with the iOS app. It doesn't seem like Rand McNally tried very hard on the app. The unit has to be on in order for the PSI information to show. There's no way to tell what the last tire pressure was detected. It forgets everything. You'll get a beep when there's an issue. The notification on the iPhone app just says there's an issue. It can't be hard to have it tell me what the issue is in the notification. Leak, low pressure, high pressure? Nope, I have to open the app, pretty much while driving or at a stop. Both annoying. I also get many false positives. There's a leak from one of my sensors but the PSI reading is at the same as the other tires and it always has been? My pseudo leak has been happening on multiple sensors too. Other random beeps I get were very difficult to get because it stopped beeping by the time I was able to (safely) open the app. I can forgive the false positives, though. Its seems so simple to add a Save last 10 drives features or add some more info to the notifications in the iOS app. Rand McNally isn't really known for their products and I remember them because they used to make physical maps before GPS. I have very little confidence in them to update their app and its a shame because this product could be good/great. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone but I'm also not going to return it because there are moments when its useful and its not worth the effort. I will replace this one (and put it in another car) once I see a better competitor at a more reasonable price.

Good product in theory, but.....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good product in theory, but buyer be aware! I was attracted to this tire pressure monitoring system due to living in a cold climate area (winters). Rand McNally has a good reputation so I felt comfortable in ordering this product. Sudden changes in the temperature has a tendency to cause tire pressure changes. I thought having a warning system when this happens to be a plus and help me to be proactive in maintaining the correct tire pressure. I recently noticed my jeeps rear tires required air. When I attempted to remove the sensor to inflate air, I could not? I then attempted to remove the remaining sensors and no success. I thought that I must be doing something wrong, but was now in fear of damaging the tire stems if I continued. I decided to take my vehicle to a tire repair shop and was informed that my issue is not an unfamiliar one. I was doing nothing wrong. The sensors had fused (oxidized) to the threads on the tire stems. The tire specialist had to basically break all four sensors to get off of my tires. I wasted my money on this tire pressure monitoring system and had to pay a maintenance fee to have them removed. Maybe this system will work without issue if you live in a warm weather area?

Total blow out tire still registered ok
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The tire blew out and shredded but the app still said everything was going ok and the tire pressure was right on. There was no air or pressure in the tire seems there was no more tire.
