Really cool device. Easy to pair to phone. The app is really limited as far as useful function except knowing battery level and changing the EQ settings. The actual glasses are comfortable but do tend to slide down my nose. The touch controls have a small trigger point and can be annoyingly finicky. The game mode is nice to have but to me isn't super important. The speakers get plenty loud to where people can obviously hear the beat of your music. The interchangeable lenses are nice even though they'll be dirty with your fingerprints every time you change them. Comes with carrying case as well. My main gripe though is the gloss black finish. SERIOUSLY STOP WITH THE GLOSS BLACK. IT DOESN'T MAKE THINGS SEEM PREMIUM, it makes them gross.

These Razer smart glasses are the second pair of audio sunglasses that I have acquired, so I do have a little bit of a reference point for this new class of "music-wear" accessories. The first is a brand that is renowned for its speakers, and I have had them for about a year. It makes sense for a speaker company to put speakers in sunglasses. But Razer? I wasn't sure, and I'm still not 100% sold. I own quite a few of Razer peripherals, and every one of them is quality. So I was hoping that these would be of the same innovation and quality as all of their other products. For the most part, they are. The packaging, the frames, the lenses, the charger...they all feel and look like quality. In the box, they come with the clear blue light filtering lenses preinstalled. In the packaging is also the shaded sunglass lenses. Being that they are audio sunglasses, I was excited to hear the sound quality and put them straight on my face. As soon as I do, I hear a giggle. As I turn and look at my girlfriend, she has a smirk on her face and all she has to say is "Nerd". Well, I walk over to a mirror, and she was definitely right. If you have every seen Major League the movie, it looks like these glasses are straight out of that movie. If you haven't seen it, Google "Ricky Vaughn" and you will see exactly what I am talking about. The look still didn't turn me off from the Razer Smart Glasses as that's merely a styling point and will vary from person to person. So I moved on to the audio. Pairing the glasses with my phone was amazingly simple. Open up the frames and they turn on. Search for a bluetooth device with your phone and select "Razer Anzu Smart Glasses" and you are up and running. I selected a few of my favorite songs that I have regularly listened to with my other audio glasses. The audio is VERY clear. Extremely clear. Vocals are very pronounces along with different parts of the music. But there was something missing. The music didn't seem as...well...full. I believe its a lack of bass, but I still havent been able to put my finger on it. I know, I know...these are TINY speakers. How do you get bass out of tiny speakers. To be honest...I dont know. But they just left me wanting more from the sound. I dove into the partnering Anzu app for the glasses and their are a couple different EQ settings, but the default was definitely the best. I wish I could control bass and treble settings on my own, but I didnt see that option anywhere. Again, these did not sound bad. They did sound pretty good, but there is a chance my previous brand set the bar a little high. I used the blue light lenses for a couple days as I got familiar with the glasses, but I found myself getting a little nauseous if I was driving around with them on. Kind of like if you put on prescription glasses on when you don't require them. So I switched out to the shaded lenses and have not had an issue. Swapping was simple enough and I didnt break anything, which is always a plus. Im not sure if it was just my eyes, window tint in my vehicle, or something else. But I will not be going back to the blue light lenses. Something that I found interesting, but am not particularly fond of, is that these frames do not have any physical buttons. My previous pair has a single action button that controls everything. These Razer Smart Glasses have a soft touch section above your temple that handles all actions. Single tap to play, pause, etc. Double tap to skip songs. Triple tap to go back. Or go into the Anzu App and change the tap settings. I would encourage putting your most used commands on the 1 and 2 tap settings as I would have to frequently hunt for the sweet spot on the soft touch section, making 3 taps fairly difficult and getting undesired results as only 1 or 2 taps would register. I like the concept of the soft touch, but there definitely needs to be some improvement made. Overall, these are a good product, dont get me wrong, but they have so much more potential that they just left me wanting more. Especially at the price point. The competition seems to currently have a better product in every aspect, and costs the same. I dont think Razer struck out with these at all. I think its a good entry for them. It just seems that for the time being, Razer hit a single, while another brand has hit a home run. Keep with it Razer, I have faith in you, but I will be wearing my other pair until the next version comes out.

The glasses are sturdy, the speaker quality is decent. I can have it as loud as it goes, and still hear someone speaking in a normal conversational tone, which is nice. There are a couple of downsides, number one; you can't be super active with these as they do not sit on your face or hug your face. They are a slick plastic that slides right off of your ears, and nose. I attempted to do some carpentry and while using my saw, looking down they almost became goners. Second is the lack of instructions that come with them. The fact that they come with two sets of lenses, one clear and the other for sunglass, is great. The lenses are very easy to change out. Also, you can go to their website and navigate to their lens supplier and get your prescription filled for a very low price (around $120) for decent lenses. Do I like them, yes they are great when I'm sitting at the computer and working. Would I recommend them, yes. Could they use some improvement, yes.

Well this was surprising. We are all very used to new technologies and some are in the “how did I live without these” category while others are “it’s cool for a few weeks”. This razer glasses are amazing and definitely have me wondering how I lived without them. In my job I like to sometimes wear my ear buds while I work for listening to music and answering calls etc. It doesn’t always go so well with the upper management but with these glasses I can wear them and they look very professional and are quiet enough where no one is able to hear what I’m listening to. Crystal clear audio when listening to music! You can map the controls so when you touch or double touch or triple touch whatever you want to do like call Siri or next track or pick up phone. Very secure on your face and the small/medium works amazing for me and I have what I would consider a medium/large face. Another cool aspect is while gaming it helps improve your gaming experience with low latency and technical stuff that I don’t exactly understand completely. These things are a very nice surprise for me! Also they are great as the package includes a couple of dark glass lenses. If your concerned how they look don’t be they really are both stylish and professional and also modern in a weirdly cool symbiotic way.

The Razer Anzu smart glasses were not at all what I'd expected, and I'm quite frankly disappointed. I got these thinking that they could function as a portable Google smart speaker that could double as both sunglasses and wireless headphones. Unfortunately, they don't do any of this very well. First, the gestures are clumsy. You have to touch the exact spot "just right" in order to trigger the desired action. Any fumbling will result in you skipping songs, going back to the last track, pausing unexpectedly, or triggering the voice assistant when you didn't intend to. There's a little nub on each arm of the glasses to help you find this spot, but that doesn't help much when just casually brushing against it triggers the aforementioned confusion. I got these primarily for use with Google's voice assistant. I was a little dismayed by how long the glasses take to call up the assistant. After pressing the appropriate spot, the glasses will beep once after about a two second delay to acknowledge the touch. Another two to three seconds after that, the assistant will then beep to prompt you to start talking. Four to five seconds might not seem like a lot, but it feels like an eternity when you're just looking to set a quick reminder. Call quality was horrific. The person on the other end of the line was impressed by the call quality and didn't even realize that I was talking to them through the glasses at first. On my end, the voice was so distorted and warbly that I could barely understand what was being said. I ultimately had to switch to handset as it was just too difficult to follow the conversation through the glasses. Listening to music went surprisingly well, but don't expect any kind of privacy with these. The sound is quite clearly audible to anyone around you. The glasses come with blue light filtering lenses pre-installed. I personally feel that they should have pre-installed the UV blocking sunglass lenses instead. I wear prescription lenses, and I was prepared for the blue light lenses to do virtually nothing for me. I wasn't prepared for them to make my vision WORSE. Upon putting on the glasses, everything became distinctly blurrier. I was looking forward to using the blue light lenses to reduce eyestrain during long gaminig sessions, but I found that I couldn't even properly focus on my screen while wearing these (and I generally do just fine viewing my screen without my glasses). As sunglasses, the UV blocking lenses were perfectly acceptable. As much as I like Razer, I really can't recommend these glasses. They work just fine for listening to music, but that's really about it.

The Razer - Anzu Smart Glasses are truly a unique and innovative product that I have no doubt are the start of something big. Combining blue-light filtering lenses with speakers built-in to the frame was truly a remarkable idea. There is just something so cool about listening to music and podcasts in such a different manner rather than having to use traditional over-the-ear headphones or earbuds. The audio quality obviously isn’t as good as a nice pair of over-the-ear headphones, but I believe the unique design and experience more than make up for this. The fact that these glasses come with polarized replacement lenses with UVA/UVB protection makes them even better and even more widely useable. The touch controls are a nice added “touch” and make it easy to do things like play or pause media and manage calls without having to pull out my phone. Speaking of calls, I was pleasantly surprised by the call quality when I tested this function out and the person on the other end was equally surprised by the quality. The only thing that could even remotely be considered a slight drawback is the 5-hour battery life since I like to wear them all day while I’m at work on my computer and I can’t quite make it through the whole day without having to recharge but given the size and functionality of the glasses, I really can’t complain and it is actually a bit surprising that they last as long as they do on a single charge. Overall, I am very impressed with the Razer - Anzu Smart Glasses and I highly recommend them!

The Razer Anzu Smart Glasses are a stylish pair of glasses. I have been testing them out for awhile now and I have enjoyed them a lot. I was initially looking for a blue light filter pair of glasses when I stumble upon these as I stare at a monitor all day for work. Not only can I use them for work but I also use them daily as the come with an extra pair of dark sunglass lenses that are easy to swap out. Other accessories included are a cleaning cloth, charging cable and a nice case for storage. All you really have to do is download the app and connect it to your phone and you are good to go. Controls are easy to memorize and you can even change them with the app. Touch controls are on the side of the glasses and you just tap to use them. Incoming calls are clear and I also love that I can list to music while I am working without the use of earbuds. The app even has some preset sound eq. Battery life is good as I have listens to music all day and had not had the need to charge them. Overall a great pair of smart glasses I can use all day to filter out blue light/take calls/listen to music.

    Maybe not "smart"

Not really sure why these are called "smart" glasses. Speaker glasses or headphone glasses, maybe. What they do is enable you to hear the sound from your smart phone, or other bluetooth-connected audio device, through tiny speakers in the temples of the eyeglass frames. For tiny speakers, the sound is quite good, and you have some limited equalization options if you also use the app for the glasses on your smartphone. They also have touch-sensitive spots on the outside of the frames (similar to a lot of earbuds) that allow you to control playback. The response to your taps or presses can also be customized, but only through the app. You can also "remember" multiple devices so you don't have to keep repairing if you want to use these with multiple devices. I think the main advantage here is the ability to listen without blocking out other sounds. So, if you want to use them as sunglasses while riding a bike, you can still listen to music without blocking out traffic sounds. The lenses are easy enough to swap out, but the sunglass lenses are not very dark. People nearby will still be able to hear the sound, so they're not going to give you any privacy, but they could be an option to avoid ear fatigue from wearing earbuds. The glasses themselves are quite comfortable, but maybe not the most stylish. They are fairly thick when folded up, but they come with a pretty decent case for carrying them in that also accommodates the charging cable.

Razer is Slicing into the Field of Face Accessory

The Razer Anzu Smart Glasses are quite an innovation. This review is specific to the Rectangle Frame Bundle, Size SM. There is a Size Large in the rectangle frame, and there is also a round design in both SM and Large. The “Bundle” refers to two lenses included: Blue light filter lenses and polarized sunglass lenses. Smart glasses cater to the world of technology but may also be a part of everyday adventures. Simply as glasses, Razer has done a fantastic job. Designing glasses in two sizes, SM or L allows for a personal choice in frame. For myself, I have a thinner facial structure and the SM fits wonderfully. For my wife, who has a more rounded face the SM is not for her – this was obvious for us, but the fact that there is a Large option she could use is such a game changer compared to many frames out there. Then, rectangle versus circular shape comes down to preference. With the frames are the lenses. The blue light filter lenses absolutely have blue light filtration. The difference is obvious when looking at a screen with or without the glasses on. And even when glancing at the frames/lenses, the blue reflection is noticeable. With prolonged electronics use, blue light filtration protects the eyes and is a beneficial health decision. There is a video on the Razer website, outlining how to swap the lenses. This was not the easiest to do, regardless, but once interchanged the polarized sunglass lenses are perfect for on the go! Could easily wear these while driving, walking, hiking, or a day at the beach. I love polarized lenses and feel these are quite adequate. Now, I use contacts, but if you’re an everyday glasses user you do not have to count these frames out. Razer has paired with Lensabl on their website, to offer discounted prescription lenses specific to the frames. Of course, this comes with added cost, but if considering typical frames, the price point is not outrageous in general for a “name brand”. Now, as smart glasses, Razer has just opened a new world. These charge with a specially designed USB charger the charges each arm of the frame at the same time. Having a specific, non-universal charger does require one to have the charger with them or to not misplace it but there is a very discrete home for the charger cable within the glasses case. So, keep up with the glasses and case, keep up with the charger. The charger is a magnetic design and very simple to employ. These smart glasses connect via Bluetooth. When you open the frames, they attempt to pair. Pairing is quick and will preferentially pair to previously paired devices (up to 4 different devices remembered at once – but only one device connected at once). The sound itself is bizarre, having the speakers near the ear. It creates a surround sound sensation that is hard to “place” where the sound is originating which I LOVE in sound equipment. Overall, the sound quality is crisp and clean. Impressive for the size of the arms. The sound is not as loud as I may have wanted them to be though; however, when considering that these are open air speakers, I understand WHY the level of sound goes to where it does. At the volume they max out at, you can hear if nearby, but it is not obnoxiously sending sound into the room. That goes into the use. One could have the blue light lenses in and connected to their computer while coming. [Speaking of which, Razer put in a low-latency mode specific toward this purpose]. They could have the sunglasses lenses in and connected to their favorite music while at the beach. Could have prescription lenses in, while driving and use the frames to have a hands-free conversation with the built-in mic. The options are endless. I am impressed with the concept of “smart” glasses and believe Razer has done a fantastic job entering this new field of personal accessory. I had planned to use these glasses only with contacts, as sunglasses, but given my satisfaction I may very well be investing in ordering prescription lenses soon!

The Razer Anzu Smart shades are actually better than I was expecting, out of the box they have the blue light filter lenses installed, with polarized lenses included to swap out. I have an older pair of blue light filter glasses, but they have more of a yellowish hue to them, The Razer Anzu are much clearer, more like a standard pair of glasses. I work on monitors all day and it has been nice using a new pair of glasses with a more natural tone on the screens. I do also like the polarized lenses, they aren't too hard to pop in and out, I try to keep the included microfiber cloth handy for when I do change the lenses not to smudge them up. The polarized lenses are nice, I've gone out with them a few times but I primarily keep the blue light filtering lenses on. The first time I put on the smart glasses I heard it was available for pairing, they appear to go into a powered off state when you fold hinges closed so they will automatically pair to your phone (how i'm using it primarily) when you unfold them. The speakers work well, I tend to listen to music while working, but I typically did that with one wireless earbud in. These allow me to listen to music while I work, without impairing my vision at all. You can also pick up calls which come across clearly in my experience, no one had complained about the sound, guessing they probably assume they're on speaker. The glasses come with a nice leather case that holds the glasses, and has a nice pocket for the charge cable. I just keep the lenses I am not using in the provided box but don't really keep them on me, may be nice to see a pocket in a future case with a slot for the other lenses. Touching again on the speakers, out of the box I didn't care for the sound, I did however tweak the equalizer in my phones audio output and they are better than before. There is an equalizer in the Anzu app, but I preferred the sound from the phones settings. I typically listen to the music low, so I can still have communications when needed, and still listen to music without needing to tweak the sound or pausing if I don't need to. 5 Hours is a good estimate to the battery life, I got 3 hours one day and probably used them for another 2 or so the next day before needing to charge them. As mentioned earlier I am very pleased with these, and I could easily suggest them to a lot of people with the benefit of blue light filtering and being able to listen to music, podcasts or even watching videos without having to fill the room with audio, or potentially blocking out sound in your surroundings!

    Smart glasses that barely graduated

Right out of the gate, it should be noted that this is my first pair of smart glasses and I used the Small version. There is a large version available, which should generally be picked up by any male or large headed female. I don’t have a bug head, it’s certainly not deep, but the small is noticeably too small for me. That out of the way, let’s talk about the nitty gritty. Out of the box, this is a good setup. The packaging is nice, it hits the highlights, comes with everything you need, and specifically the glasses case was surprisingly good quality. I’m not quite sure what the market is for these YET. After google’s failed smart glasses years ago, there seems to be a momentum shift to get back in the game. Bose has a pair that came out last year that I look forward to checking out and this is Anzu’s first foothold in the market. Learning about these, I pictured myself near the pool or at the beach, blocking out the sun and listening to tunes, now that I’ve used them for a while, I’m not sure what role they’ll play in the future. My pair came charged with the blue tint lenses already installed so out of the box, I put the glasses on, connected the Bluetooth to my phone without even needing instructions and was literally using them within seconds. It couldn’t be easier. Pretty immediately I was able to notice that the mid-sound quality is unfortunately subpar. Listening to music is noticeably a bit of a bummer where things like vocals or bass may stick out but guitars may sound dull. A lot of it comes across as listening to music with a sheet over the speakers, just lacking that extra punch. The good news is that these glasses have a built in microphone so I tested out phone calls on them. I could hear people clearly and they could hear me clearly, so that was a big positive. It comes with backup lenses so that you can switch between blue tint or UV protection sunglasses. My girlfriend is an eye doctor, a very trusted source, who said that blue tint is largely a scam in the lens industry and isn’t important. It’s certainly not bad but not needed and not helpful, the other downside is just wearing the blue tint has a very noticeable tint to them and doesn’t look great in daily wear. Charging is a breeze, and doesn’t take too long to get to fully battery but the battery only lasts five hours, at best, which doesn’t seem long at all. This is a big strike against them. The highlights are the glasses automatically turning on and off when closing, as well as touch functions on the side to control volume, as well as pausing/playing features among others. All in all, you’re basically wearing glorified headphones that now take up space around your eyes and face. I already wear glasses sometimes so I can’t wear these if I need my glasses while driving fit example. These are too nice to take to the beach, I don’t want them covered in sand. The music quality is too poor to wear around casually. I don’t really need them in place of headphones and I’d rather have something simpler in-ear than something surrounding my ear and then taking up space on my head. A neat gadget that’s far for smoothed out.

I've had mine for about 6 months now. Purchased them when they went on sell last year, and went to my optometrist and got some transition lenses put in them with no issues. I want to love them. The thing is that the battery life is garbage, and the blue notification light is really annoying. Especially when the battery is low, or when you lose bluetooth connection. I wish there was a setting within the app that would turn the lights off. If you are eyeballing these frames, wait until they go on sale.
