I have been using these for about a week now primarily playing FPS games and I've thoroughly enjoyed my use with these. I'm coming from the Razer Kaira Pro Hyper Speed headphones which are similar in providing crystal clear clarity sound but the design of the BlackShark V2 Pro felt like it was higher quality. I definitely prefer the memory foam ear cushions for comfort but I will say that after a decent amount of gaming, my ears did feel like they needed a breather. The seal these headphones create is also really helpful with sound cancellation. I had a Youtube video playing on my phone at max audio but as soon as I put the headphones on with gameplay, I couldn't hear anything but the game which is great for providing an immersive experience. I also prefer the push button switch for the mic since I could tell when it was muted or on just by feeling instead of toggling it. I made the mistake of leaving it on a few times with the Kaira Pro and had some embarrassing moments over chat. The dial for volume also gives it a more premium feel over than the scroll wheel found on other headsets. Overall, the weight is good, the headset feels sturdy, and they are comfortable to use for long gaming sessions with the occasional removal to let my ears breathe. During gameplay I am fully immersed and could pinpoint my opponents whereabouts relative to my character which I felt gave me a slight advantage. Another thing I could not stress enough is the incredible extended battery this headset has. I was constantly having to charge my previous headset with constant reminders of low battery ringing in my ear but these last an incredible 70 hours! These will for sure be my primary set until they fail.

A great headset, pretty much exactly what it markets itself as. Not a total top of the line 500 dollar headset, but just under that mark for well under that price.

I was really excited to get this headset cause the reviews were good but it was absolutely horrible and did not live up to the hype. First the sound was horribke especially if the volume was all the way up, second you couldn’t seamless switch between bluetooth and the usb c dongle?? You had to unplug the dongle to use bluetooth. Also why cant you use the razor software on pc to set this up? And why doesnt the manual that by the way is black paper with grey text, explain that you have to use the stupid mobile app to setup or even do anything related to eq or microphone stuff. But you can only use the app with bluetooth so you have to unplug the dongle from your pc or ps5 and then connect to them with the app and hope they connect because the app sucks and took me 30 minutes to get the headphones connected. Just dont buy them they are horrible. Buy the corsair hs80 max headset instead they are so much better and cheaper I believe.

Audio wasn’t very clear, even with switching between the presets, and the max volume wasn’t very high. There was also some white noise in the background. The mic and comfort were fantastic, though.

The Razer Blackshark V2 Pro for PS5 offers a premium gaming experience with its blend of comfort, audio quality, and convenience. I have a wildly large head (like, been turned away from go kart tracks because they don’t have a helmet big enough, head) and the headset remains exceptionally comfortable during extended gaming sessions, thanks to its thoughtful design. The sound quality is robust and immersive, providing a full-bodied audio experience. One standout feature is the microphone quality, delivering crisp and clean communication during gaming sessions. With a quoted 70 hour battery life, I was impressed by its longevity, easily lasting through multiple days of 5-hour gaming sessions without needing a recharge. During all the time I did not once experience a drop or interruption in connection. Even with my PS5 being in a TV cabinet and my desktop pc being tucked under my desk. The USB-C charging is a much needed upgrade over the original model’s micro-usb, and the flexibility of both a wireless USB-C receiver and Bluetooth connectivity offers convenience for various setups across PS5, PC, and Switch platforms. However, there are some concerns regarding durability, notably the thin metal bars connecting the headband to the cups. This raises worries about potential breakage, even just from wear and tear. Additionally, the reliance on a mobile app for fine-tuning audio adjustments stinks but isn’t the worst thing in the world. Overall, the Razer Blackshark V2 Pro excels in providing a comfortable, high-quality gaming experience with very few drawbacks. While its durability and app dependency may raise some concerns, its performance and features make it a solid choice for all gamers. Pros: Exceptionally comfortable for extended gaming times (even for massive heads like mine!) Sound quality is robust and full Mic quality is crisp and clean Battery life is solid, played several days of online multiplayer 5 hours at a time and still haven’t had to charge them USB-C charging Wireless USB-C receiver or bluetooth Plug and play for both PS5 and PC Cons: The metal bars that connect the headband to the cups feel worryingly thin, I’m scared they will break easily Need to download a mobile app to do fine tuning audio adjustments

The volume knob is my favorite feature of these headsets. Don’t laugh. I’m serious. There is nothing more satisfying then the tactile touch of twisting a knob to control the volume and I hate that more headphone manufacturers can’t seem to grasp the value of the knob. The knob rocks. I love it. The other two buttons, power and mute, are tiny circles with the mute button popping out when pressed making it obvious to the touch when the headset it muted. I also appreciate the simplicity of the headset in that Razer makes no attempt to hide the wires or the wireframe that allows the ear cups to be adjusted to fit the head of the person wearing them. I like this approach because it means you have less material on the headset making it lighter and more comfortable to wear. The foam used to support the headset for both ear cushion and head cushion is light and breathable. What my fellow gaming teammates love is being able to hear me shouting with glee and excitement with the crystal clear microphone, which is removable when not in use. Audio is immersive but not overwhelming to your senses. Razer designed the USB-C pairing dongle in an L-Shape which works well on a PS5 sitting inside an entertainment stand, but the L-Shape can be awkward to use on a gaming laptop where ports are tightly spaced. The headset is comfortable to wear for hours of gaming and after a week of intense gaming sessions I never found the batteries running out of juice before my sessions were done for the day. Overall this is a solid product from a solid manufacturer.

    A PS5 Gamer's Audio Advantage

As a PS5 gamer, I'm always on the hunt for a headset that can elevate my experience. Enter the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro Wireless. The build quality is top-notch. It feels sturdy and well-made, with a sleek design that looks great. But looks aren't everything, especially when you're glued to your screen for hours on end. Thankfully, the BlackShark V2 Pro is surprisingly comfortable. The memory foam earcups are plush and feel great against my ears, although after a particularly long session, I did find myself needing a short break. Still, compared to other headsets I've tried, these are winners. The real star of the show, though, is the audio. The HyperSpeed wireless tech delivers a lag-free connection, which means the sound stays perfectly in sync with the on-screen action. The 50mm drivers and noise-isolating earcups create an immersive soundscape. Every detail comes through crystal clear including footsteps. The detachable mic ensures my teammates can hear me loud and clear. The push-button mute switch is a lifesaver – no more accidentally leaving my mic on during a heated chat session. Plus, the volume dial gives a nice premium feel compared to some of those clunky scroll wheels. But the true game-changer for me is the battery life. 70 hours on a single charge? That's insane! I can game for days on end without having to worry about finding a charger. Overall, the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro Wireless Headset is a fantastic choice for PS5 gamers. It delivers excellent audio, a comfortable design, and an unmatched battery life. Sure, the earcups might need a short breather after a long session, but for the sound quality and battery life alone, this headset is a winner.

While I was looking for a gaming headset, I was hoping to not only find one I could use for gaming but also for other needs as well. This one absolutely does both for me. Ultimately, I wanted it for gaming, and it has been perfect for that. They are very lightweight, set-up was quick and easy, and connectivity has been rock solid. Given there was going to be some long gaming sessions (and that I wanted these for dual purpose), I was a little worried going in about the comfort. Well, that was dumb. They are extremely comfortable. The cups fit my ears well (of course this will depend on your ears), are a nice material, and just “feel good.” I also love the looks. Simple. Plain. Clean. Lots of matte black. I suppose some may want something more “gamery,” but this look is perfect for me. As for in use? I couldn’t be happier. The mic sits well, is easily adjustable, comes out clean, and sounds great. On the other end, overall sound quality is fantastic., surround is solid, and I haven’t experienced any lag so far. Just zero issues to this point. In the end, I am very happy with this headset. It works, well, is very comfortable, and has improved my gaming (and more) experience.

EQ software Razer Audio does not sync

The Blackshark V2 Pro (2023) specifically the Playstation version is NOT compatible with the Synapse 3 or 4 software for PC and is also NOT compatible with the Android App Razer Audio which Customer Support recommends you to use but will not sync up at all with the app thus you cannot edit your EQ profile at all on this headset. If you don't plan on using any software then it works fine with just plug and play but otherwise none of the suggested software will work for this headset.

    Nice headphones for gaming

The build on these headphones is very good and sturdy. The headphones are mainly made out of very lightweight plastic material with soft memory foam cushions lining the headband and the ear pads. Since it is made out of plastic it makes the weight of the headphones very light and it can easily sit on the top of your head for hours without feeling any fatigue. My only gripe I have with the headphones is that for the amount of money that you are paying for them, it feels like you are not getting your money’s worth in terms of build quality. For around the same price there are other headphones that use metal parts, which helps give the perception of a more premium build. The memory foam cushions on the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro headset are decent at providing passive noise cancellation as most medium to low-volume sounds get blocked off by these headphones. Loud noises or medium-loud noises can still be heard but are often very muffled. One thing I can say is that the memory foam pads tend to run a bit on the warmer side around your ears after long sessions as it is good at trapping your body heat in the headset. As for the look of the headset, my first impressions were that it looks very nice and sleek for being gamer headphones. I got the black version of this headset, and it looks very clean and minimalist. The branding is not too aggressive as it has the black Razer logo on each side of the ear cups and then they have the company name, Razer, etched out on the top of the headband. I think the stealth black looks good and the branding is not overly aggressive either. The microphone in this headset is detachable so it gives the headset a very sleek design if you ever plan on using it in public with its Bluetooth mode. Unfortunately, even with the sleek design, the headphones look very much like “gaming” headphones, so I cannot see myself wearing this headset in a public environment. One thing I wish that they would change on the appearance of the headset is the volume dial. It protrudes out of the left side of the headset aggressively making it stick out like a sore thumb when viewing from all angles. However, it does make the volume dial easy to find and use when wearing the headset. I would prefer it to be a lot smaller and put on the bottom of the headset instead so that the headset completes the minimalist aesthetic. The sound quality of these headphones out of the box is great for gamers. There are plenty of basic built-in EQ presets on the headset that sound great. The preset choices that come by default are custom, music, movie, and game. There is also another set of EQ modes called “Esports EQ” that are preloaded on the headset. The selection that comes default on the headset is between Apex Legends, CSGO, and Fortnite. I found that after testing out both the basic preset modes and the competitive preset modes I ended up sticking to the music preset as it provided the best sound stage for listening to music and playing games. Overall, the sound quality is excellent and made for an enjoyable experience playing games. I noticed that these headphones tend to lean more heavily on the low ends making the bass sound good. This helps in video games as it helps add to the emersion when there is an explosion nearby and you can feel it in your ears. These headphones also make footsteps easy to hear and locate as the directional audio works very well with the drivers. One thing I did notice was that as a tradeoff for having such good bass in a wireless headset, the high ends tended to sound a lot more compressed and sometimes even a bit muffled at some points. That can probably be tweaked in the setting if you install the Razer app on your phone or computer. The mic quality on this headset is by far the best-sounding mic that I have tested on a wireless headset to this date. I have used plenty of wireless headsets and an issue that I have had with all the headsets that I have used previously is that the mic quality is always super bad and borderline unbearable on most. When I used these headphones for the first time, I tested the mic, and I was shocked at how good it sounded right away. I was blown away by the quality of audio that I was hearing and when I played with my friends they didn’t even know that I was using the headset microphone until I told them. Even with a couple of niggles, I highly recommend this headset to anyone who wants a good-sounding headset with an excellent-sounding mic out of the box.
