Best budget gaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What’s Good 1. Very Comfortable for Long Sessions • The headset is lightweight (about 240g) and has memory-foam ear cushions, making it well-suited for long gaming sessions. • Many users on Best Buy praise how the headband and earcups don’t dig in, even after hours. 2. Good Sound for Gaming • Razer uses its 50 mm Triforce drivers, which help recreate high, mid, and low frequencies more distinctly. • According to Tom’s Hardware, the 7.1 surround sound (on supported systems) is “noticeable and helpful” for positional awareness in games. • The sound profile is somewhat “dark and bass-heavy,” which works well for explosions or action games. 3. Strong Mic Performance • The boom mic uses Razer’s HyperClear cardioid design, and tests show it records voices clearly even in noisy situations. • Users say their voice comes through “clean without background noise.” 4. Good Value • For a wired headset with decent features like surround sound and a quality mic, the BlackShark V2 X is often considered a great value. • Many buyers mention it’s “one of the best budget headsets” for gaming. 5. Cross-Platform Compatibility • Uses a 3.5 mm jack, so it’s compatible with PC, consoles (PlayStation, Xbox), Switch, and other devices. • On Windows 10 (64-bit), you can enable virtual 7.1 surround to improve positional audio. What’s Not So Great 1. Inconsistent Sound Delivery • According to lab testing by RTINGS, the bass and treble can vary a lot depending on how the headset sits on your head. • The sound seal is sensitive: if the earcups don’t form a tight seal (especially if you wear glasses or have thick hair), performance drops. 2. No EQ Software • There’s no companion app or software from Razer for fine-tuning EQ, so you’re more or less stuck with the default tuning. • That means you may not be able to customize the sound to your liking if, say, you want “music-friendly” tuning. 3. Build Quality Feel • Some parts feel a bit fragile: RTINGS notes that the metal hinges and cables look like they could be weak spots. • A few user reviews mention the mic mute/unmute switch or volume dial could feel more solid. 4. Poor Noise Isolation • The closed earcup design does help block some sound, but according to RTINGS, it doesn’t do much for low bass noise (like engines or deep rumbles). • So if you’re gaming in a very noisy room or commuting, you may still hear a lot of ambient sound. 5. Mic Is Not Detachable • The boom mic is integrated and cannot be removed. • That could be an annoyance if you don’t always need the mic and want a “cleaner” look or want to reduce weight. 6. Durability Risk • Some users on forums report issues after long-term use. For example: “Every other sound … is over-muffled … footsteps are so low …” • There’s also mention of a buzzing issue in one ear after about a year (in a Reddit thread). Who It’s Best For • Competitive / eSports Gamers: If you’re playing FPS games (like CS:GO, Valorant, Apex), the headset’s positional audio and light weight make it a strong choice. • Budget-Conscious Gamers: People who want a good headset without spending big money will likely find this very attractive. • Cross-Platform Players: Because of its 3.5 mm jack, gamers on multiple platforms benefit. • Casual / Long-Session Gamers: Comfortable enough for long sessions, but not ideal for extremely rugged or long-term durability if you’re very hard on gear. My Verdict The Razer BlackShark V2 X is a very solid budget wired gaming headset. It nails a lot of core things: comfort, mic clarity, and gaming sound. But it’s not flawless — the inconsistent sound delivery and slightly iffy build quality are real trade-offs. If I were buying a headset purely for gaming and didn’t mind spending a little time adjusting its fit (or living with its sound quirks), I’d pick this. But if I needed something with better build durability or more “audiophile-friendly” tuning, I might consider spending more.

Good headset with some downsides
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: -Good sound quality for both mic and headphones -Slightly looser fit so it does not get uncomfortable while wearing glasses -Adjustable volume dial and mute buttons are nice features which are easy to determine state or engagement without needing to use the headphones (halfway point click for volume and click & in-out state on the mute button) -Adjustable mic is nice to be able to adjust volume by moving closer or further away depending on the other person's input -Comfortable feel around the ears and on top of the head -Headset feels solid and not fragile Cons: -Loose fit is slightly too loose across my head with no horizontal adjustment causing it to move; I typically wear a hat to help compensate during longer sessions -Surround sound program never loaded properly after download. Tried to uninstall/reinstall twice but always either didn't load or came up blank -I wish the up/down movement of the ear phones was more stable/slightly more rigid - it doesn't take much to move them accidentally causing unbalanced seating between the different sides -The movable mic could be a little more rigid - any contact moves it a significant amount which can be irritating when it was well placed before

Razer BlackShark V2 X Wired Gaming Headset
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love it !!!The Razer BlackShark V2 X Wired Gaming Headset is a fantastic choice for gamers seeking premium audio quality, comfort, and cross-platform compatibility without breaking the bank. After spending some time with this headset, here are my thoughts: Audio Performance: 9/10 The TriForce 50mm drivers deliver crystal-clear audio with rich highs, powerful mids, and deep bass. Whether you're immersed in the roar of battle or listening for subtle enemy footsteps, the soundstage is impressive and enhances the gaming experience. It also handles music and movies surprisingly well for a gaming-focused headset. Comfort and Design: 8/10 The lightweight design, weighing only 240 grams, makes it easy to wear for extended gaming sessions. The memory foam ear cushions are soft and breathable, ensuring comfort even during marathon gaming. However, the lack of swivel on the ear cups might be a drawback for some users. Microphone Quality: 8.5/10 The HyperClear Cardioid Microphone performs admirably, isolating your voice from background noise. Your teammates will hear you loud and clear, whether you're coordinating strategies or just chatting. The detachable design adds convenience when you don’t need it. Compatibility: 10/10 The versatility of this headset is a standout feature. It's compatible with PC, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and other devices with a 3.5mm audio jack. Plug-and-play simplicity ensures you can switch between devices effortlessly. Build Quality: 7.5/10 The headset feels durable but uses mostly plastic materials, which might not appeal to those looking for a more premium build. Despite this, it feels solid enough for regular use. Value for Money: 9/10 Considering the price point, the Razer BlackShark V2 X offers exceptional value. You get high-quality audio, a comfortable design, and cross-platform compatibility at a budget-friendly price. Pros: Excellent sound quality with TriForce 50mm drivers. Lightweight and comfortable for long gaming sessions. Highly versatile with multi-platform compatibility. Effective microphone for clear communication. Cons: Non-swiveling ear cups might limit comfort for some. Plastic build could feel less premium.

Precision Sound with a Price Bang
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Razer BlackShark V2 X in white delivers impressive audio quality, comfort, and versatility at a very competitive price point. Designed for gamers who want clear communication and immersive sound without breaking the bank, this wired headset works seamlessly across PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Audio performance is a standout feature — the Razer TriForce 50mm drivers produce crisp highs, rich mids, and punchy bass, making in-game soundscapes feel more detailed and engaging. Whether you’re tracking enemy footsteps in a shooter or enjoying cinematic background music, the sound is well-balanced and precise. The cardioid microphone does a great job isolating your voice from background noise, ensuring teammates hear you clearly. While it’s not detachable, it’s flexible enough to position comfortably, and voice pickup is clean for both casual gaming and competitive matches. Comfort is another strong point. The memory foam ear cushions with breathable fabric keep the headset comfortable for long sessions, and its lightweight build (just 240g) prevents fatigue. The all-white finish gives it a sleek, modern look that stands out without being flashy. Being a wired headset, there’s no need to worry about battery life, and it’s simply plug-and-play with any 3.5mm-compatible device. The only trade-off is that it lacks surround sound features found in higher-end models, but for stereo gaming audio, it’s excellent for the price. Pros: Clear, balanced audio with Razer TriForce 50mm drivers Lightweight and comfortable for long gaming sessions Crisp, noise-isolating cardioid microphone Universal 3.5mm compatibility across platforms Stylish and clean white design Cons: No detachable mic Stereo only, lacks built-in surround sound Wired connection means no wireless freedom Verdict: The Razer BlackShark V2 X in white is a fantastic choice for gamers who value clear sound, comfort, and multi-platform compatibility at an affordable price. It punches above its weight in audio quality and comfort, making it ideal for both casual and competitive play.

Amazing Headset!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing for the price, by far. The surround sound system works wonderfully, very comfortable, no pain after long periods of use, and lightweight. The microphone is good, being able to move it more freely compared to my previous headset is so much better. Amazing product, feels great, would buy again.

Really great value and do last long
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So realizing Ive had these headsets for an over a year it was only right to make a fair review of them. Also, because ironically I repurchased the exact same ones lol. I’m pretty destructive and headsets would probably last a good few months for me because I tend to throw them around(not angrily lol I just toss them when finished with use) or even found myself sitting on them at times. These have withstood all the tests. The mic is great, I love the fit as someone who has always disliked headsets because I don’t like how restricting headsets can feel. They last long and don’t break down as quickly. Maybe an ear muff came off but it’s easy to reattach. I’ll be honest I swore it was because I purchased the pc Xbox one which was on sale at the time. So it could have updated the model but I remember always having to twist the cord to hear or even be heard. However with this new model I have had no issues so far and the quality is even better from the one I had before. Only recently have I had mic problems. Otherwise I recommend especially since they made this new model, also always great to get it on sale, especially if youre new to trying any razer products. This is definitely worth it. It’s funny how long these have last for me because even with the problems I did have with the older model I still used it for a year and a half, so it’s says a lot.

Incredible Value for a Quality Headset!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a new headset for my PC that wouldn't break the bank, and I'm honestly blown away by the BlackShark V2 X. For this price point, the quality is just fantastic. Sound: The audio is the star of the show. In games like Call of Duty and Apex Legends, the directional audio is super clear. I can easily pinpoint enemy footsteps and gunfire, which has genuinely improved my gameplay. The 7.1 Surround Sound software for PC is a nice bonus and works surprisingly well. For music and movies, they sound great too. Mic: My friends on Discord and Xbox noticed the difference immediately. They said my voice comes through crystal clear with almost no background noise. The mic isn't detachable, but it's flexible and stays where you put it. Comfort: These are LIGHT. I can wear them for long gaming session without any of that head-crushing feeling or my ears getting hot. The memory foam cushions are super soft and do a great job of blocking out ambient room noise. Bottom line: If you're looking for a top-tier experience on a budget, this is it. It easily competes with headsets that cost twice as much.

Outstanding Clarity & Comfort—Premium Feel at a Bu
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently bought the Razer BlackShark V2 X and it’s quickly become my go-to headset for gaming, console, and casual use. Sound & Surround Performance Equipped with Razer’s 50 mm TriForce drivers, the V2 X delivers crisp and immersive audio. On PC, the 7.1 surround sound adds excellent spatial awareness—footsteps, gunfire, and directional cues are easy to track. The sound profile leans slightly bass-heavy, which works great for games like Fortnite and Call of Duty, making intense moments more impactful. Microphone Quality The HyperClear cardioid boom mic picks up voice clearly while rejecting background noise. It performs well in team chat and is surprisingly clear for a headset at this price point. Friends noticed the improvement in voice quality right away. Comfort & Build Weighing just around 240g with memory-foam ear cushions and a padded headband, it’s comfortable for marathon gaming sessions. The closed-back design provides decent passive noise isolation—enough to block out distractions without fully isolating you from your surroundings. Design & Usability The headset connects via a 3.5mm jack, making it compatible across PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox, Switch, and mobile devices. There’s a built-in volume wheel and a quick mute switch on the headset itself—simple but effective. The build is mostly plastic with some metal reinforcement, so while it feels light, it’s best to handle with care since the cable isn’t detachable.

The Greatest Headphones on the Planet!!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are the best headphones I've ever bought in my life... I have thrown these headphones against a wall, I watched them blow apart. I pieced them back together and I still use them to this day. The mic quality is excellent, the spacial audio is excellent. They have great bass and are pretty comfortable too. You WILL NOT find a better headset, trust me... I'm an expert at breaking them and these things are still alive!
