I’ve been using the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro for a couple of weeks now, and man, this headset is a beast for gaming! Here’s my take as a casual gamer who also loves music and long Discord chats.
The good stuff: The sound is insane. The 50mm drivers pack a punch—playing Apex Legends and Black Myth: Wukong, I could hear every footstep, explosion, and whisper in the game. The THX Spatial Audio (on PC) makes it feel like enemies are sneaking up behind you, which is great for competitive play. I messed around with the EQ settings in Razer’s app, and it’s super easy to tweak the sound for gaming or music. Bass is deep, mids are clear, and highs are crisp.
Comfort is top-notch. The memory foam earcups with that breathable mesh layer are so comfy, even during my 6-hour gaming binges. No sweaty ears here! The headset’s a bit heavy at 367g, but the padded headband and swiveling earcups make it feel snug without clamping too hard. The mic is detachable and sounds amazing—my squad said my voice was crystal clear, even when I was yelling during intense matches.
The wireless features are good. The 2.4GHz HyperSpeed connection is lag-free, and I love that I can connect to Bluetooth at the same time for Discord calls on my phone while gaming. Battery life is great too—I got about 45 hours with some ANC use, which is plenty for a week. The active noise cancellation (ANC) is a nice touch, blocking out my noisy AC unit pretty well. Oh, and the controls (volume knob, EQ switch, ANC button) are super intuitive.
The not so good: The ANC could be better as it doesn't block out like non gaming headsets. I think this is due the the material used on the cups. This isn't a deal breaker for me at all but could be if you're expecting these to block out all noise

In addition to these being great for XBox, I have also found my preferred mobile Teams meeting headset as these are comfortable enough to wear all shift. The XBox integration is awesome as well. The headset includes a dongle to switch audio to you xBox by just flipping a switch. The dongle can be placed anywhere and it very convenient to have. Of course, when you're done with the Xbox, you can switch back over to Bluetooth and
I connect to your pc for pc games, work, music, or movies. I really like the removable microphone. I just pop off the microphone when i'm mobile and leave the headset hanging off my work bag. This insures that it doesn't get lost in transit. The headset offers two modes: ambient and ANC. Ambient mode lets you hear what's around you. I can say it definitely works because when its on, I definitely hear everything. My go to mode is ANC though and while it's not as good as some other ANC I have tried, it does block most sound. You also have one button that has preset EQ settings for Game, Movie, Music, Esports, and Default. Pretty clever. My favorite thing really is the physical microphone mute button. Having that is so handy, when you're not sure if the software mute button did the trick. The battery life has been great. I can use these for 8 hours no problem and that's really all I need as I charge them up every day.

I’ve been using the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro ANC Wireless Gaming Headset for Xbox and it’s been an amazing upgrade to my setup. The sound quality is rich and clear with deep bass that really pulls you into the game. The active noise cancelling is impressive, blocking out background distractions so I can focus fully whether I’m gaming or listening to music. The headset is lightweight and comfortable even during long sessions, and the memory foam cushions feel great. The wireless connection has been rock solid with no lag, and battery life easily lasts through long days of use. I also like the design, it looks sleek and has a premium feel. The mic quality is excellent for chat, making my voice come through clear without static. The Razer Synapse app adds another level with customization for sound profiles, mic settings, and ANC control, which really lets you fine tune everything the way you want. Overall, this headset feels like the perfect mix of comfort, performance, and style, and I’d recommend it to anyone on Xbox who wants a top-tier wireless experience.

The Razer BlackShark V3 Pro gaming headset is a great option to enhance your gaming experience. These feel sturdy and made of quality pieces. They don't feel too heavy on your head and the memory foam is comfortable around your ears. The foam is breathable, I didn't have sweaty ears after extended wear. I like that the microphone is detachable for when you don't need to chat.
I tried these on a lot of devices. These work great with the Xbox Series X using the 2.4 Ghz wireless adapter. The 3.5mm connector worked with the Nintendo Switch. The Bluetooth connected to my gaming laptop and cell phone. I didn't experience any noticeable latency. The surround sound and drivers sounded great during game play. Outside of gaming, I used them to listen to music, watch movies, and even take phone calls.
My only real disappointments were in the noise cancellation and ambient mode. There is a noticeable change turning the noise cancellation on but I've had better in other headphones. The ambient mode isn't very good. It doesn't increase the volume of the surroundings very much. The microphone picks up a lot of your surroundings though and can be heard on the other end. I wish the microphone had some noise canceling of it's own.
With such a nice pair of headphones I wish they came with a carrying case. Even just a cheap bag would be better than nothing. They have great battery life. I would 100% recommend these to any gamer if they are ok with the above issues. They sound great and are really comfortable.

Rounding Down

I went back and forth for a full day, stressed out about if I’d give this a 4 or 5 star review and decided to give it a 5. Find out why…
The packaging is sleek, minimalist, and shows its hand that you’ve purchased a high end product that you should be proud of. Out of the box, you’re going to get the headset, a USB-C to 3.5 jack, a USB to USB-C cord, the headset, some stickers, instructions and the receptor dongle.
This is probably nearing the 15-20th gaming headset I’ve owned over the last 15 years, gaming across every major platform, and the first few things I noticed were how comfortable it was, how light it felt, and unfortunately, how astronomically long it took to setup.
The headset didn’t come charged and the first thing you’re instructed to do is charge the headset to full. I’d say that took around an hour, which was longer than expected, though I have no idea what the battery life was at, though I know it wasn’t “red” aka low.
Upon charge, and using this for an Xbox, you have a few options. You can use the 3.5 jack and play wired, though I can’t imagine why anyone would want to use a wired headset in 2025. More often, you’re going to have to connect the USB to USB-C cord to your Xbox, and then the dongle to get going. That is the recommended method for quickest sound response time, which is crucial for competitive gaming. Unfortunately, setup wasn’t very black and white.
I was instructed to download the Razer Audio app on the Xbox, which I did and due to issues in the Microsoft store, that took longer than expected. After I got the app up and running and connected my device as instructed, I was informed that my headset needed an update but that I couldn’t do that with the Razer Phone app or Xbox app, I’d have to use my laptop.
So I followed the instructions to update my headset, which maybe took another 5-10min, only to find out that the dongle needs an update, so that took another five minutes. Then, finally, I was able to put my laptop away and get this hooked back up to my Xbox, to continue using their app for setup, which was at that point, relatively quick.
Upon finally setting this up on my Xbox, I decided to ensure I had the phone app working correctly as I’d generally prefer to use that over the Xbox app so I don’t have to close a game to make audio changes, and is easier from my phone app. Unfortunately the phone app kinda stinks too and kept telling me that my headset needed an update (which I’d just done), and figuring out the Bluetooth connection isn’t as easy as their instructions, but alas I persevered.
Finally comes time for functionality. One of the nice things is this has a dual Bluetooth connection, which… I’m not sure whoever would use this but it’s nice as you can game while listening to music from your phone or taking calls. I had my wife call to test and we both agreed the audio felt great both ways.
My other gripe here when it comes to functionality is that there’s a TON of buttons, with all very small logos on them on the headset, so it’s not as simple as a power on/volume up/down situation. There’s a power button, a Bluetooth button which was more complicated that it seems, a noise cancelling function that cycles through a few options, a volume dial, a preset audio function, a USB-C port, a mute button, and it’s all a LOT. Speaking of, I have to give a strike agains them for having one of the rare headsets that you can’t flip the mic to mute, you can only detach the microphone or hit the mute button. That’s a swing and a miss in my book. If this was your primary headset for everything, over time, sure, you’d pick it up, but for most people who aren’t constantly gaming, it’s probably too much to memorize. That’s it, I’m giving this four stars.
Now to gaming… I decided to use the wireless dongle connection for the fastest sound speed, which unfortunately drains the battery quicker. All frustrations aside, this is noticeably the best audio I’ve ever experienced in gaming. I used the “gaming” preset to follow Razer’s guidance on tuning, and was just so dang pleasantly surprised. Everything was quick, registering well, spatial, good bass, and I was hearing things I hadn’t heard in hundreds of hours of playing the same games previously. I can’t praise their audio quality enough.
I haven’t used this enough to speak on battery life but with an internal battery exclusively, I’m hoping there’s long battery life or I can use the audio jack in place of a charged headset, but surprisingly the instructions state nothing about that option or extended battery life.
All said, this has frustration in the setup and execution but just hits an unbelievable grand slam on the audio and comfort, which is the reason you’d buy this. I can recommend it but hope they can continue to build upon what’s working for the future.

[PROS]
A+ for Comfort and Design: The Blackshark V3 Pro feels very pleasant to wear. I didn't feel like my head was inside a vice grip. Furthermore, my ears never got sweaty through multiple gaming sessions. The headband and earcup material is very soft and gentle against the head as well. The metal frame securing the earcups is thin, but not flimsy which makes the V3 not as bulky as others within its bracket
Great Microphone Quality: At first, I was let down by the voice clarity. However, a firmware update seemed to have fixed my issue. My voice went from low sounding and a bit muffled to more clear and pronounced. Also, the ANC did an excellent job blocking out external noise as I was gaming not far from sounds within the kitchen.
Sound Assist: Honestly, game specific audio settings seemed gimmicky, but it did make a noticeable improvement in playing certain titles on my Series X. These specific EQ profiles did enable me to perceive footsteps and other environmental elements better than I would with other headsets. I would not say it makes a world of difference, but I can tell that much effort was put in this feature.
Synapse: The app still feels somewhat heavy, but it was streamlined for the needs of configuring the headset. I'm able to get to the appropriate feature sections without confusion. Also, I'm able to preview adjustments such as mic enhancements on the fly.
Other tidbits: Overall, they sound superb and didn't experience any audio latency. Battery life is superb, and I have yet needed to charge it.
[CONS]
Dongle Awkwardness: Since this is designed for the Series X, you need to attach it to the console through a cable. This makes it challenging for people who have their consoles mounted like me as you need a platform to rest the dongle. I did wish that it was more of a plug and play solution.
[CONCLUSION]
In conclusion, I think the BlackShark V3 Pro is an awesome headset for any gamer. The audio is great, and the mic projects the voice well to others. It does come with some extra benefits such as the enhanced EQ profiles and compatibility with all major gaming platforms. In my book, its a winner.

I've been using the Razer Blackshark V3 Pro for Xbox for over a week now. It takes a lot for me to give a headset or anything 5 stars, but this a rare occasion when it's totally deserved. The Razer Blackshare has a great build quality, but is so so so comfortable to wear with good padding, great earcups and light weight. If you're after THE BEST wireless gaming headset for your Xbox, this is it.
Breaking it down further, there are some great surprises. First, the Razer Blackshark is TRULY wireless for your Xbox. It ships with a dongle that connects via USB C to A to your Xbox, letting you pair the headset directly to your Xbox. Wow. Cool. Fast. Easy. Second, if you don't want to work that way, you can use a wired headphone connector straight to your Xbox controller (not sure why you would when it's built for wireless, but it's nice - tried it on my Steamdeck as a wired headset). What surprised me even more, is the Blackshark dongle has a switch so you can use this headset for PC Gaming. Great if you have a Gamepass subscription and you cross play between Xbox/PC. Thank you Razer for extending the usefulness!
Voice audio quality is where this shines. At first, I was surprised by the size of the boom mic. But in voice chat, people were commenting how much better I sounded. Intrigued, I hooked the Razer to my PC and tested on Discord and it's incredible. Voice quality is just reach, more bass and rounded sounded vs my much more expensive PC headset. I don't really use the Xbox much for voice chat, so during game play I remove the boom mic - unless a specific friend is online.
In terms of listening audio quality, the Razer Blackshark does not disappoint. Again, rich surround sound, deep bass, no cracks, pops, or hisses. The ANC was a pleasant surprise. It won't drown out background conversation in a home, but being summer and I play in the basement with a pedestal fan, it makes that background noise disappear. Winning!
Overall, love the Razer Blackshare V3 Pro. Great sound, great build, incredible comfort, and the fact you can be a die hard Xbox gamer but still get some secondary uses out of the Blackshark makes it incredibly good value. Get it, you will be very happy!

These are good, but very task-specific headphones. If you are using these for gaming, they're excellent and the audio is perfect with versatile adjustments possible through the X-Box or your computer. You can independently control the volume of the conversation and the game, and the timing of everything is excellent, as you would expect with a modern connection. The audio they hear through the microphone is also great and well isolated.
One additional benefit that I didn't foresee is that you can actually connect multiple devices at the same time. Want to have audio from the game and music from your phone? You can do that and independently control the volumes of each of these audio streams. The plug-in wireless connector (an odd thing to say) is also very versatile and adapts to the X-Box or your computer, which I've enjoyed as I can use these for work calls as well without installing proprietary software and raising flags with the IT department.
There are some shortcomings in my testing. While these do have noise-cancelling, it isn't great. It will be fine for a relatively quiet environment and offers some isolation, but I've noticed that it overcompensates for low-frequencies, resulting in a thrumming low-tone that is always present when there is mechanical background noise (air conditioning, fans, passing traffic outside). This is very irritating and distracting. Better to just turn off the ANC. The other issue (only related to the gaming-specific nature of these) is that there are no media controls other than volume. You can answer a call or hang up, but nothing else. No skipping forward or back.
Battery life is great, as I've used these for about 20 hours over several days while connected to multiple devices and still have almost 2/3 of the battery left. You shouldn't have any problems with an all-day gaming session (possibly more!).

Amazing Beast of a Headset

So I just received my new Razer BlackShark V3 Pro ANC Wireless Gaming Headset for XBOX and have been using it for the past couple of weeks putting it through the paces. Razer is a brand that gamers have come to love and as they continue to produce amazing products every year.
Unboxing includes:
* Razer BlackShark V3 Pro Headset
* Razer HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2 Dongle
* Detachable Razer HyperClear Full Band Mic
* USB-A to USB-C Cable
* 3.5mm analog to USB-C Converter Cable
* User Manual and Documentation
Now if you have been a fan of Razer for sometime like myself, you know that their products are top-notch and are durable and built with quality in mind and this headset continues that trend. Before I even setup the headset, I just took a moment to look over the headset to familiarize myself with the controls and buttons. First off the headband part extends from the earcuffs on both sides allowing for the perfect fit. The left earcuff features a volume control knob, mute button, power button, USB-C port, as well as the port for the detachable mic. On the right earcuff, is wireless mode button, audio control wheel, and an ANC button for active noise cancellation. To someone new to gaming headsets the it may be a bit daunting but if you follow along with the included user manual you should be fine, as everything is adequately explained in the manual.
To get started, simply connect to whichever wireless mode you prefer (most people will probably choose bluetooth, however, it can be connected either wirelessly or wired with the included cables). Once connected, you can use the volume control knob on the left earcuff to increase or decrease your volume. I connected it through bluetooth on my Xbox Series X and loaded up a game. When the game started, I was immediately blown away with the audio quality of the headset; it was unlike any other headset that, I’ve tried over the years. Crisp and crystal clear. I could hear sound in the background scenes that I didn’t know were there before. It had like a more immersive feeling to it like I was actually in the game. On games that I chat with other players, the audio quality from the other gamers was clear and I was asked a couple of times if I was using a new headset because I sounded clearer to those I was playing with. I really love this headset and can’t believe how amazing it is and also how comfortable it is to wear for extended periods of gameplay.
Something that I almost forgot to mention is that both sides of the earcuffs have these magnetic plates that you can take off. Razer’s website has replacement magnetic plates with designs on their website that you can purchase to customize or personalize. I recommend this headset to anyone looking for an awesome online gaming experience.

Unboxing
Very appealing box design, as Razer tends to do well with this. The front shows how the headset looks, as well as all the different connection methods one can use with the headset. The back of the box shows all the features of the headset, as well as the QR code for Razer's Audio app and the app used for connecting on Xbox. Once opened, the headset is well protected, and all the accessories are very easy to access located right above the headset. The instructions for use are located in a little tab under the headset instead of just lazily placed in there, which I really liked.
Unboxing Rating: 5/5
Connecting
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. If you are unaware of how to use Hyperspeed Wireless Gen-2 Technology to connect via Bluetooth, then I would highly recommend downloading the Razer Audio Setup for Xbox app via your Xbox's Microsoft Store. I found it very easy to setup the headset, all you need to do is plug the Hyperspeed Wireless Gen-2 dongle into your Xbox via the USB to USB-C cord and you're good to go. On first time Bluetooth connection, if you are using a wired controller and your headset is not connecting, unplug the controller, connect the headset, then plug the controller back in.
Connecting Rating: 5/5
Microphone Volume/Clarity
While it is very good, my friends I played with said the microphone quality was a little bit worse than the normal headset I use. Overall it's still very good, but there is probably better on the market with regards to microphone clarity.
Microphone Rating: 4.5/5
Headset Modes
Default Mode: If you just enjoy sitting in a party with your friends, or you enjoy playing games that don't require the need to hear directional footsteps and/or directional gunfire I would highly recommend using the default mode.
Game Mode: Good for shooter games, you can hear footsteps well and it's very easy to hear where you're being shot at from.
Movie Mode: Very easy to hear dialogue loudly and clearly even at low volumes. I recommend pairing this with ANC OFF or ANC ON.
Music Mode: No matter the genre you enjoy, it has a great balance between voice and the beats. The bass, mid, and treble all hit exceptionally well. If you closed your eyes, you'd think you were at a concert watching your favorite artist perform.
eSports1 Mode: Best mode for shooter games, especially if heavily reliant on hearing footsteps. It minimizes the sound of gunshots (including your own) and background noise, so that you're able to hear footsteps very easily, even at a far distance.
Headset Modes Rating: 5/5
Active Noise-Cancelling
Ambient: I highly recommend this paired with default mode if you're just relaxing and you need to hear outside noises such as someone calling your name, your phone ringing, etc.
ANC OFF: All around very good, no matter what mode you're in. It still suppresses sound pretty well. I would highly recommend this for movie mode.
ANC ON: Best paired with game, esports, or music mode. You hear virtually no background noise, especially when the game audio is on I couldn't even hear myself talk.
Active Noise-Cancelling Rating: 5/5
Conclusion
Whether you want to listen to or create music, watch tv shows or movies, or you want play video games with your friends, this headset has pretty much everything you could ask for. Before this, my favorite headset was a HyperX Cloud II, but this Razer Blackshark V3 Pro completely blows it out of the water, and it's not even close. Anyone looking for an easy to use, high quality headset with plenty of features should buy this with no hesitation.

The sound was too wide. The microphone was good or I would’ve given it. A zero star after you upgraded the firmware before you upgraded the firmware. The microphone was crap, but the sound was too wide for the headphones itself. You couldn’t place where anything came from I play call of duty and I could not tell where any of the foot that were coming from where any of the shots were coming from or any of the gun clicks were coming from nothing it was a horrible experience. I went back to my turtle Beach
