I had a previous model of this laptop, and enjoyed it so much that I was happy to upgrade to more RAM, a better processor and more SSD hard drive space. So far, it is performing just as well as I had hoped and better. Highly recommend.

Beautiful hardware, lackluster software

I'll start with the good. The build quality on this laptop is exceptional. The all aluminum frame is sturdy and fairly smudge resistant as long as your hands aren't covered in food grease while you're using it. Any smudges come out easily with the included micro fiber cloth. The screen is nothing short of gorgeous with the QHD and high refresh rate. This laptop is light and the power brick is as well, totaling about 6 pounds between the two. It packs a 3080 ti (laptop) GPU and an incredible powerful alderlake CPU. But the hardware is where the good ends for me.
The Razer software (Razer synapse) just pales in comparison to ROG and armoury crate. The performance customization is severely lacking. When plugged in you are provided with 3 options. Silent, balanced, and custom. On silent mode you have no performance options, on balanced you can customize the fan speed and on custom you can alter CPU and GPU performance, with selections of low medium high and ultra for the CPU and low medium and high for the GPU.
What I find infuriating is custom mode takes away control of the fan. It makes it automatic so the laptop thermals spike up to near maximums before synapse kicks on the fan, meaning the laptop starts running hot right away. Compare this to Armoury Crates custom mode which allows you to adjust clock and boost speeds of the CPU and GPU, and full control of the fan, as well as a companion app to give you control without exiting your application and there's just no comparison.
Additionally, sometimes when I exit games, the aspect ratio and zoom changes away from the default to a lower resolution and a non 16:9 native aspect ratio, and this can only be rectified by restarting the laptop. If you're going to charge $3,700 for a laptop it needs to be free of software quirks like this.
While the 3080ti is nice, it's not necessary. If you're buying a laptop for pure gaming, go with a 17 inch laptop with a far cheaper 3070ti you can get models with a similar screen (slightly lower refresh rate but same quality), better software, and better performance. All for $1,300 to $2,000 less than this computer. It is not worth the money and I'll be returning mine for something else

Doesn’t really get that hot
It’s light
Good for multitasking
Good for on the go
Good quality frame
The QHD and the 240 hz is the best in both worlds and even it’s just 2k it makes a big difference the picture look outstanding and the 240hz makes it so much better
I get about 140 on MW all high at 1440 and 175 fps at 1080p with max setting

A Necessary Upgrade

Finally, a laptop worth writing about. I picked up the Razor over the holidays at a good price, even decided to try an open box and save even more. When the item arrived, it was as expected... no damage, no scratches, fingerprints on the casing but nothing a quick wipe down couldn't fix. After doing the honors of cleaning the machine and booting it up, It felt brand new, perfect.
First let me say I've tried Macbook Pro's and they're beautiful machines but I just couldn't adapt to the OS, even though i use an iPad and an iPhone there's nothing like the control a PC gives you. Let start with the aluminum casing, check... I don't really like plastic specially after trying a MacBook pro. A lit-up keyboard that changes colors grabbed my kid's attention. The screen on this is plenty bright, I find myself turning it down. The fans are pretty quiet. The speakers need improvement, Razer could have done better at this price point. My iPad sounds better. Connectivity is reasonable, I wish the charging cable wasn't at an angle. The battery life on laptops truly lag behind the MacBook pro, I just don't understand why there's such a disparity when it comes to battery life. The touchpad is somewhat sensitive to surrounding pressure from your palms resting.
At first, I felt the software was a little buggy, especially with power control/sleep mode etc... until I upgraded the OS from Windows 11 home to Windows 11 Pro. This is what prompted me to write this review. the OS upgrade seemed to have fixed a lot of glitches that were happening. Before the OS upgrade, I was tittering on whether I wanted to return it from the constant glitches it was having. Now I find myself impressed. the touchpad works better, the computer actually goes to sleep when i tell it too, it seems to run cooler, and the battery is lasting longer. After using third party software to update drivers I'm really liking this thing.
I highly recommend using a 6e router the connectivity speed is insane.
I didn't buy this laptop to game on, but I need to see what all the heat was about, and the verdict is it gets hot really hot. I booted up Steam loaded Sackboy for my kid plugged it into the Oled and let her play. After running your hand over the keyboard, you know exactly where the GPU lives. I have read that the chips are more than capable of handling the level of thermals that we can feel coming through the aluminum chassis, just don't expect to be comfortable with this thing on your lap while gaming for long periods of time. I also recommend a lap board so the machine can breathe if sitting on the couch is your preference like mine.
My closing thoughts, I've watched plenty of reviews on YouTube and also read them on Razer laptops in particular this model and they seem to be mixed. Another reason why i wanted to share my experience. The laptop is spec'd out, feels solid, and looks good. Would I pay asking retail price for it, NO. I personally feel it can benefit from an OS upgrade as you've read. Is it the best gaming laptop out there, no. Do you feel like you have an elite machine when you pull it out, absolutely. Everybody wants to touch it. I'm now happy with my purchase after the OS upgrade and third-party driver updates. A machine can't just look good it has to work as well.

Great gaming PC.
Starts up very fast and runs everything quickly. Nice CPU, GPU, and memory capacity for future game releases, even on the graphics card.
It is very thin to fit in most bags.
It uses a bit of power for a laptop, but that is understandable, so if you to use it in a vehicle; you'll need an outlet for 230volts.

the Razer Blade 15 has completely transformed my gaming experience! The 15.6" QHD display with a 240Hz refresh rate is absolutely stunning, delivering crisp visuals and incredibly smooth gameplay. Whether I'm diving into fast-paced shooters or exploring expansive open worlds, the graphics powered by the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti are nothing short of breathtaking.
The Intel Core i7 processor and 16GB of RAM ensure that multitasking is seamless, allowing me to run multiple applications without any lag. The 1TB SSD provides ample storage and lightning-fast load times, which is a game-changer for both gaming and productivity.
In terms of design, the Razer Blade 15 is sleek and premium, with a sturdy build that feels great. The keyboard is comfortable to type on, and the customizable RGB lighting adds a nice touch.
Overall, this laptop is a fantastic investment for any serious gamer or content creator. It combines power, performance, and portability in one sleek package. Highly recommend!

I love it specially since I got a good deal on it. I’m enjoying it a lot good quality laptop I love my macbook pro. But for gaming this razer laptop is on another level. A few things I’ll change is the battery life when gaming and not plugging is not good but understandable. And the display could be a bit brighter. Other than that I’m really happy with it.

I'm very happy with the quality of the laptop. But the speed and reliability of the performance is the best. I use it primarily for video editing and VFX on the go and it works amazing. Also played some video games and the performance is desktop level.
