This laptop is a big pricey, but so far I have had no complaints (I am reviewing this after 1 month of use). Multi-tasking is really easy with this laptop. I have not had the chance to play any games with this laptop yet, but I notice that it can handle plenty of tabs while browsing online in addition to having a movie playing in the background. I notice that when I place it on a table, it does tend to heat up easily. The fan turns on but is much more quiet than my previous laptop. I don't notice the laptop's surface getting extremely hot when the fans turn on either. I feel that it would be most beneficial to keep the laptop on a surface that allows for air circulation (ie an aluminum laptop riser, or one with holes, or a cooling pad). In general, keeping electronics cool will expand the lifetime of the product so it wouldn't hurt to invest in that later on anyway. The battery life I find is as stated when multitasking. I assume that once gaming, the battery life will be a little shorter. On sleep, the laptop can last much longer. The laptop does close via a magnetic closure, which was something I wasn't expecting. It makes it slightly more difficult to open with one hand, but something I don't mind since it does make the laptop feel more high quality (it is placed near the webcam in the middle of the laptop). The webcam is decent but not significantly good. At nighttime, it is very bad and pixelated however, the placement of the webcam is pretty good. I find that I did try to place a reusable webcam cover, but it did affect the closure of the laptop. Due to the magnetic closure, it did lift a bit when closed properly, which I would advise against keeping it when closed. The speakers are pretty good, but located strangely on the laptop (located on the sides of the keyboard instead of on top or the sides of the laptop). The rbg lighting on the keyboard is pretty good (something Razer if very good at). I do notice some of the keys are slanted in certain directions already (not sure if this is from use or just how it came from (I didn't think to inspect angles of keys). The only annoying thing is that the laptop doesn't remember the brightness settings on the rbg lighting. For example, when I turn off my lighting when I am running on battery, when the computer goes to sleep or I turn it off, the lighting always turns on at full brightness (the lighting is very customizable, can also adjust the brightness to very bright or very low). I haven't fiddled around enough to see if I can make permanent settings yet, but that is just a minor concern. The build is very sturdy and I much prefer the mercury edition due to it not being a fingerprint magnet. The charging power cable is also very heavy, much heavier than past laptop charging power cables (depending on personal preference, I think it makes it much more high quality and sturdy, although it is more inconvenient to carry around when transporting it around). Another minor annoyance is that the charging cable is very hard to take off/put on. It requires more force than other power charging cables to plug in, but like in personal preference, it might be better or worse. The screen is very nice, and the matte screen is such a nice edition. There is no screen bleed on my particular laptop. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase despite the steep price. But I do think it is worth the money. My particular laptop has no issues, but I think it would also be safe to purchase the extra GeekSquad protection. Everything has been running smoothly so far. I also like that this laptop doesn't come with a significant amount of bloatware, and if I do need to upgrade it, I will definitely be looking into that after the warranty is up. I also recommend registering the device onto Razer for more support if necessary. Hopefully it will continue to keep its positive attributes as I continue to use this product. Hopefully my review wasn't all over the place, I just kind of wrote as I thought about it. I do know that some Razer products are hit or miss. I jumped the gun with my first Razer product and am not disappointed at all.

Perfect Gaming LaptopPosted
Used to have a gaming laptop before I went with a surface, missed the ability to play my games while still using for work. Having multiple gift cards decided to make this purchase and am extremely happy. I'm not sure I would pay full price for this, but basically paying 1/2 price for it I feel it was worth it. I use for work, video editing, and gaming and am happy with the speed. Another reason I pick this laptop was the ability to upgrade to 32 gb of RAM.
