This item was gifted to me by my girlfriend and was purchased at a deal around $50. Knowing Razor as one of the top tier companies for gaming products I expected a lot and these headphones don't disappoint. It's compatible with both my ps4 pro and my laptop and produces clear audio and both from the game and from the headphone's mic. The audio received is very responsive to whatever customization you have on your devices such as higher bass, tremble, etc. The wire on the headphones are made of durable nylon material, and contain an in-line mic that allows you to adjust the volume and turn on/off the mic without having to go to the sound settings of the device, which is very useful for uninterrupted play. The adjustable strap also provides flexibility in adapting from small head shapes to larger ones like mines. A few nit picky problems I have with these headphones are that they do not feel as comfortable after long hours of use. Although I understand it's unfair to compare the two, the comfort provided by these headphones is noticeably different from my Bose Quietcomfort 35's, but at a $220 difference I mean it should be right? In addition, the mic tends to be a little too sensitive sometimes, which can be adjusted by your devices. Lastly, the nylon wire does seem to have higher durability, but at the cost of adding friction and catching onto cloth-like surfaces from time to time. Overall, I am very happy with this product and will be using it for the years of gaming to come. If you want high quality gaming headphones that are compatible with multiple devices, produce clear audio and voice, and don't want to break the wallet, I'd say go for these.

    Razer Kraken

Alright so I bought the Razer Kraken V2 and know this Im a huge Razer fan my gaming PC has the Deathadder keyboard and Razer Mouse so I had high hopes for these. Opening the box everything looked good, and first thing I noticed was tbe cord that connects to the PC its almost like a piece of string flexable almost weightless. Very nice, then i moved on to the headset its also lightweight looked good and he mic effortlessly slid in and out which i did and didnt like but thats my preference as a gamer. Plugging everything in I put the headphones on first thing I noticed it had 0 gripage on my head felt like if I moved my head to quick they would fly I didnt test this so Dont Try it at Home Kids. But with my preference I like a headphone that fits snug and comfortable which these didnt they felt loose and unsecured. Testing the mic quality out it sounded okay and even chatting with a friend he said it was an improvement over my old webcam mic but not by much mostly because the mic is closer to my mouth while the webcam was far away. And know that my webcam mic is almost 10 years old, and these headphones are pretty recent, so I wasnt pleased with that. Continuing to test it while gaming the audio was clear but it didnt do anything for background noises my old music headset I got 2-3 years ago for my Ipod did a better job at blocking sound and those cost me 30 bucks at the time. And I know there is a Surroundsound type of Kraken but if those are like these only better at block outside noise I dont think they are worth the money you pay. So my overall review? 3/5 stars and if I had the choice i would have put them at 2.5/5 are they nice for an amateur gamer who plays for fun and doesnt care? Yes perfect but if your a serious gamer like myself who uses all sounds to his advantage I wouldnt recommmend these to you not for 80 bucks. So.... Pros: Cord that connects is weightless flexable great quality (I have debated keeping the headset for the cord alone but 80 for a cord is too rich for my blood), and clear audio Cons: 0 Background noise protection, mic qaulity is average, headset is loose feeling.

Sound quality was okay, bass was fairly deep but highs left something to be desired. Keep in mind that this is the Analog version of the headset, not the USB 7.1 Digital, so what you get is... what you get. The Razer Synapse software is not compatible with these headphones, so getting real drivers or software isn't an option; they're only as good as your onboard soundcard, and most of them... suck. A lot. Case in point, my stereo output was bleeding into my mic inputs all the time, so no matter what everyone got to listen to what I was listening to, and the echoes were quite prevalant, I'm sure, though blessedly I was spared this and only others in the voice channel were tortured. Some adjusting of the levels showed a decent mic input quality as long as the headphones were silent, but with no drivers adjusting the input quality in the Windows "mixer" usually results in squawks and noise, or nothing, so it's default values or nada. Since I'm trying to get away from broadcasting my Spotify streaming over Discord, as it tends to annoy people because I like bad music, I'm returning these to the store to try out the USB-based 7.1 headset instead. Being able to tweak the Equalizer settings because REAL DRIVERS should also prove to be highly beneficial. In a vacuum, these probably suffice. Having other options that suffer less, hard pass on these. Also, work on the box a bit.

Tried every plug configuration I could think of. Still failed to work on Mac Mini. No-Show on Sound device list. NO MIC function. SOUND required the splitter plug, or only one ear can hear; sound was average to poor, at best. In-line volume control barely made a difference...unknown on/off switch on volume control did nothing. The cord is cloth covered--cool, yeah? NOT if you need the unit to last; it’s far too fragile a cover for the thin wires inside. This unit is a poor excuse for a headset, right out of the box...no wonder it was on a steep sale!? Tried online access for drivers...can’t even use that Kraken site without accepting TOS. Downloading drivers? NOT clear where to find; then, the choice is Russian or English? In these times we live in? What else might piggyback and infect my computer? PHFFT! Don’t go there. Headsets are Slave units; NONE should need downloaded drivers; headsets should all be generic plug’n’play on ANY unit they can plug into to source sound. Unfortunately, the industry is shooting itself in their collective feet, rushing to make all headsets proprietary. That’s like forcing car drivers to buy make/model proprietary tires. It’s just WRONG.

Razer Kraken Pro v2 extremely low volume on PS4.

So I have read that others in the past had this issue of a very low volume situation, but that it was fixed in some PS4 update a while back. Well, I just wanted to confirm that it's still a very prevalent issue in Dec 2018. I'm not sure why these are even advertised as compatible with PS4, when they are not even usable other than to hear others chat, since that's all you can hear in the game is other peoples mic's. Plugged in to my phone they seem to work fine, but that's not what I purchased them for, nor is it what they're listed to be used for. Very unfortunate that a headset with so much potential is basically rendered useless for anyone who actually wants to hear what's going on in the game, especially in FPS games where enemy footsteps are a critical element to winning. I'll be returning these today and getting a pair of PS Gold 2018's, since at least I know I won't have any compatibility issues, and also I can use those as a 3.5mm headset as well as wireless.

I have a Gold wireless headset for my PS4 and wanted a wired headset that I could use on my Xbox One and PS4. I thought I was getting the model up at this price since the product was in the wrong place, but I'm quite happy with the purchase anyway. I ended up removing the extender part of the cable, which not only made it a much more palpable length, it allowed the mic to work properly on the Xbox. I really like the retractable mic option, and it works well. My friends who are used to me on my Gold headset have all commented on how clear I sound now. If I have one complaint, it's that it's too easy to turn down the volume via the wheel control on the cord. A few times I've thought the set was malfunctioning, only to realize I'd turned down the volume accidentally.

This is my third Razer headset. Not sure how i made it to 3 actually after such rough experiences with the first two (Carcharias and Kraken Pro. I enjoy the bells and whisltes but this headset fails in basic functioning, ?The sound is simply lacking any quality, even after several adjustments eq settings etc. I spent over two hours trying to get it to just sound like a "Pro" headset. The next 2 hours i spent trying to get the echo cancellation in most all voice programs (ie Teamspeak, Skype etc.) I finally realize it was the surround sound software. If i'm playing a game i want the surround sound for sure. But any game you play that you also use Teamspeak (or potentially other voice comms programs), you may want to turn off surround sound. That of course diminishes the game play. Which reminds me i need to post that on some forums Many people complain of the echo, poor sound and poor mic. I would not recommend this product. In fact, I dare say I'll buy another Razer headset. .

I have had these headphones for a few months. I can say that they are still working as the 1st day I got it. If you are worried about prices and which headset to trust, I would definitely recommend this particular one. It is decently priced and does what they need to do. Surround sound and bass are amazing. I also own the Man-O-War headphone, but since getting wired Krakens I've been using only this. Yeah I love wireless because hey- WIRELESS, but I got tired of charging and always being connected to a charger. Krakens are definitely my go to. I even sleep with them on in bed sometimes. You will not regret its quality and durability. Coming from an honest reviewer

purchased these on july 12 since i needed a new gaming headset and wanted to upgrade from a lower priced headset. first time trying them on i already could hear enemy steps way better, the audio itself is very good and even team mates would ask me to lower down my mic, that's how crisp and loud the sound going in and out WAS. the headset is also very comfortable, ear cups very soft. i would game for hours on end and my ears or head never hurt. well, that lasted for 2 months, as of today, randomly, the mic works no longer even though i had made use of it a day before! am glad i bought a care plan but wished i had listen to other people complaining about razer's problems with mics because its true. i take absolute care of my items and i find it absurd that a higher end headset's mic breaks after 2 months of use.

So far i'm pretty happy with these. They have excellent sound quality, and the way the microphone retracts and adjusts is pretty handy. Makes it very easy to get the mic out of your line of sight. They're pretty comfortable for most gaming sessions. After very long (2+ hours) sessions I've started noticing a little bit of ear discomfort from being mashed between the headphones and my head. I think slightly thicker padding around the ears would help this, though I haven't experimented with it yet. All in all I'm pretty happy with these. They interface extremely well with the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2016 edition, which has a perfectly-placed headset port on the side.

My son loves all the Razer products, sometimes Corsair for keyboards but headphones he loves Razer he says these are great, and when you buy Best Buy's 2-year protection plan to go along with it, every time I've had an issue with them Best Buy just gives me a new pair and another two-year warranty usually for less than a few dollars to add that to your warranty definitely worth it to add that to anything you can only buy at Best Buy, that way you don't have to deal with the manufacture yourself ever Best Buy always handles it for you

Overall, I am impressed with this headset. Straight out of the box, the sound is mediocre. The bass is incredibly heavy which some might like, but since I have been playing mostly Fortnite, it can be a bit much at times. Randomly, I was sent a Razer Pro code and was able to turn down the bass and they sound much better now. I managed to get these headphones nearly half off and I would say that they are well worth the money. They are very comfortable even after wearing for 5+ hours straight. I would say, bottom line, if you plan on getting these, plan on getting the Razer Pro Surround Sound.

Pass on anything Razer. My son bought these but begin having issues with the cord less than 3 months after getting them. When he contacted Razer for replacement/fix under warrenty they wouldnt give him the time of day and refused DESPITE him having a full one year warrenty. What a joke!!! The flimsy design of the cord is the issue and Razer knows this. They just dont want to pay to fix their own design flaws! So dont bother because when your headset fails you will be stuck with a warrentied product that will not be fixed or replaced. So spend your money on a better company that WILL take care and honor its warrenties.

I am a huge fan of Razer. I have their keyboards, mice, mouse pads and several headsets. Picked this up on Black Friday at Best Buy and I wish I had just taken it back. This is by far their worst product ever made by Razer. Game sound is loud. If you use VOIP though, it will be too quiet. Want to watch something on Youtube? Good luck hearing it... Do not waste your time on this overpriced heap of plastic. Get something else that will work. The software is useless. The drivers are terrible at best. Just save yourself the headache.

I purchased the headphones for my son. He started using it for ps4 gaming, and loved it from the moment he plugged it in to the controller. We game together often on t.v.'s in the same room, and we do this audio setup so that there is no battle for sound, my wife does not get upset with multiple games turned up, and so our sounds are isolated to each player. He also uses the headphones for switch and phone time, so what he is doing is less of a distraction to those around him.

Bought these for xbox and though they are great product, they may not be ideal for xbox. Sound was low, even with volume all the way up. no true surround sound, just a left and right, so you had to turn either right or left to pinpoint where the sound was coming from. Excellent at noise cancellation. This was by far the best part of the headphones. Looked and felt extremely high quality. Multiple people commented on how they thought these were $125+ headphones. Overall good design , but needed more for use with Xbox.

I own a few mid-range headsets and this by far is the most comfortable I've ever bought. I've never had any complaints about the mic so I would assume that it works decent as well. As far as sound quality goes, I wouldn't recommend these if your main focus is music. For the price, you can find a pair of Sony headphones with much deeper bass, louder volume, and richer sound quality. However if you're going to be gaming for hours and want something that gets the job done well and doesn't leave you with a headache, these will do good!

I can't say a single thing bad about this headset! I am not one for writing reviews but I've never been so impressed with a headset in my life! I have had multiple brands astro, turtle beach, steelseries, and many more. This headset beats it on every level comfort 10/10, sound 10/10, user friendly, excellent mic and honestly just everything its amazing. I also purchased the wireless man o war version and honestly I was not impressed and returned it due to comfort problems. Pick this one you won't be disappointed

My grandson loves this headset! He started with the PS4 Sony Gold headset but had to return it because the other players couldn’t hear him. Then he got a Turtle Beach Stealth 700 but had to return it because he couldn’t hear the other players. Gave up on the wireless headsets and bought this Razer Kraken. He has never had any issues with it. So it’s definitely his favorite headset! Other players hear him and he hears the other players. PERFECT!!

The ear cups are very plush and comfortable for continuous hours of gameplay or chatting. It has decent sound, but mids can be a little muffled and highs a little tinny at higher volumes. It's obviously not a highend audiophile headphone, but there's a lot of value for the price. I prefer these over the Logitech G633, but about the same as my old Corsair H2100. The mic pickup is good, but on a few occasions it had picked up the music I was listening to while I was on Discord.
