I picked up this headset on sale and very glad that I did! My previous headset was a Corsair Void RGB and this Razer headset is way more comfortable. The THX sound is great and has much more bass than my previous headset. I like the retractable mic as well. Definitely would recommend this headset!

These offer great sound and are very comfortable. I have a very small head and often have trouble finding headsets that fit. The cord features a very easy volume and mute control with an add on controller if you do not like the wheel volume control. Microphone can retract when not in use.

Not all games implement THX well

I bought this headset because the Razer Nari I had wasn't loud enough. I figured out why the THX headphones aren't as loud as my Kraken 7.1 v2. When it works, THX sounds awesome. It sounded great on Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Overwatch. However, when I played Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 4, I had to turn THX off because it truly muffled my gunfire. I heard everyone else's guns just fine. But when I fired my own gun, it was if THX put a towel over my gun to muffle the sound. Another gripe was that I had to crank the volume to MAX whenever I had THX on. When I turned THX off, I was able dial down my volume (instead of cranking it to 100). I'm sure there will be more games to take advantage of THX Spatial Surround but it just wasn't enough to justify buying it to replace my already great Razer Kraken 7.1 v2.

Great headphones for a great price. I just wanted something simple and easy to setup. They are very simple and easy to use. Don’t hurt my head and my head is pretty big. I would definitely recommend picking them up while on they are on sale. The THX audio is also pretty nice quality.

Let me start by saying, I adore this headset. It’s incredibly comfortable, well built, and sounds incredible. I use it for both PC gaming and my PS4, and it is here that it loses a little praise from me. The tournament edition comes with the audio controller with game mode, bass boosts, it’s own volume control, and most importantly of all, THX spatial audio. The THX audio software really does make all the difference, yet can only be used on PC as it’s exclusive to the audio controller which has a USB-A connection rather than a 3.5 mil jack. The headset itself has a 3.5 mil jack which plugs either into your game controlle / personal device, or into the audio controller which then goes into your computers USB ports. If the THX software was available for more than just the PC, I’d give it the perfect five, but for now it gets a 4.

I'm very happy with this headset. The sound is good thanks to the 50mm drivers. The THX Surround sound is impressive. Definitely get the immersive feel to it. Though this isn't tuned for competitive gaming where certain key sounds would be highlited. Having it plug into the computer from the in-line hub via USB, and then the headset plug into the hub via 3.5mm makes it very versatile so you can use it with almost any device or console. Both cables are a good length though I wouldn't mind trading 6in from the computer side to the headset side. The comfort is there. The cups easily go around my ears and it's very light - it's wireless so it better be light. The one complaint I have is that there isn't enough pressure on the sides so it its quite loosely. Very easy to shake off, or fall off if you tilt your head forward or backward too far. I wouldn't spend the full $100 on this, but it's often for sale for $75 or less.

I love everything THX so when I saw these I had to purchase and they don't disappoint! The THX feature is not interactive with PS4 it appears to be on although the light is not active. I tested with Call of Duty WW2 and about jumped out of my skin a few times. You can isolate every sound and instantly know which direction it is coming from. While I do not PC game I have watched some of THX's PC displays for the Spatial Audio and excited to see how this will work on the new PS5. The Razer software is a memory hog so when running on PC or doing startup the entire system will lag along with it is constantly updating which will lock the computer for an hour or so. I ended up disabling all of the PC software but it has overwritten the actual speaker and headphone settings of the computer which is a pain.

The Bottom Line: Avoid purchasing this product. The Good: The headphones feel well made. The ear cups are comfortable to wear with glasses and not overly heavy. The retractable microphone is very convenient. The Bad: They don’t actually work. I plugged the USB controller into my laptop and installed the audio device, however Razer Synapse 3.0 didn’t detect the headphones. I could use them as standard headphones without THX spatial audio or any kind of audio tuning. In standard configuration, the sound quality is poor. Bass is powerful, but midrange and treble are extremely muddied. The Ugly: I contacted Razer phone support. After 40 minutes of trouble shooting, they informed me that they couldn’t resolve the issue and needed me to contact the higher level chat support. Chat support was down when I tried the first time. I reattempted, got in touch with chat support, only to have them suggest the same fix that the phone team did. After 45 more minutes of trouble shooting, I was told someone from a third level of support would contact me in 72 hours. 72 hours later I received an e-mail staying that my case was closed.

Xbox useres beware Bought yesterday, and overall love the quality. The headset really is well made and sounds great, but. And a big but... Is advertised as an Xbox and multi use headset. reviews you read online talk about it as one of the best Xbox headsets and praise the THX audio quality etc... The THX and control module is USB...upon deeper research that I should have done to begin with, the USB modules don't work on Xbox unless it is a Microsoft and Xbox specific branded headset..so you lose all that on this. And it becomes just another headset that attaches to your controller and not through the surround sound module it comes with. Still has better sound than my Microsoft official headset, but lacks all the advertised features when paired with an Xbox one Great headset, just beware of that one slightly misadvertised and reviewed flaw. would easily recommend for PC and PS4 users and if on sale it's worth it for Xbox users as well

Upgraded from hyper x cloud stinger. These Razer headphones had a lot of kick as far as bass goes. I wish you could up the volume a little more. Other than that very comfortable for hours on gaming.

I bought this for Xbox usage and it works well except that you don’t get the THX effects since there is no USB connection with the Xbox controller. Sound is solid but not much bass. I play a lot of COD and hearing footsteps is key to winning. These cans do the trick. Another thing to mention is that the cans do not make contact with your ears so you don’t get fatigue or pain even after a couple of hours of usage. I recommend these for Xbox use when they are on sale but I’d go with a headset that is made specifically for Xbox usage if you are paying full price.

If you are looking for an amazing Pc headset this one is the best bang for your buck. Bought this to use on multiple platforms. Ended up finding out the sound quality when on the ps4 isn’t that great but has amazing sound when on pc. You will need to set it up through razer synapse and download the right application for it 7.1 surround I believe which the headset doesn’t fully use. Other then that the headset was made amazing, very comfortable to wear for gaming or long hours in meetings for work. And the sound quality on pc is the best I’ve heard out of many many headsets even headsets triple the $100 dollar price tag on these

I tried about 6 different PS4 gaming headsets until I decided to keep the Razer Kracken Tournament Edition Gaming Headset. All of the others either did not have good & loud enough sound, were very uncomfortable with too much pressure or both. The stereo sound on this headset is very good (it does not have surround sound, which is usually artificial sounding anyway). I can also wear this headset with my glasses for much longer playing sessions than all of the other popular PS4 headsets I previously tried. I was about to give up on buying & keeping any headset until I tried this one. I am pleased overall with it.

I needed a set of head phones with MIC for an online interactive class I was taking for work. A problem I have with many headphones is that they will eventually hurt my ears. Not from being loud, but from sitting on my ears. I was in the store and tried a few different head sets on. Wow, these felt very comfy. I decided to buy them. Well after 5 days of 8 hours a day of wearing these I can honestly say these are the best. At the end of teh week my ears were fine. The head set comes with a USB connected that allows additional control of volume and mute. When clicking mute, a red circle of light shows up on the control. I would highly recommend this to anyone and everyone.

I purchased this product with two thoughts in mind: 1. To use strictly as stereo headphone, for cranking up my favorite tunes, late at night. 2. Using them for gaming, in the future. Pros: Good sound reproduction, very comfortable to wear, and the retractable microphone. Cons: When using strictly as stereo headphones and connecting directly into devices with the 3.5mm audio input connector, the cable length is only 4.27 Ft. (1.3 m). If they would have made this the same cable length, as the included USB Audio Controller with a 6.56 Ft. (2.0 m) cable, that would have been perfect.
