Really Great Speakers

After using Razer Nommo V2 Speakers, I find their performance to be nothing short of impressive for the money. The setup, marked by its effortless plug-and-play nature, ensures a hassle-free integration into any audio system. Beyond their functionality, these speakers have a simple all black look that can fit most setups. It's worth noting, however, that their larger size and the absence of up/down adjustability in their design might pose considerations for users with small desks or preferences for customizable positioning.
What sets the Razer Nommo V2 apart in their accessories portfolio is the lack of RGB lighting, which contributes to a cleaner aesthetic. This design decision allows the speakers to effortlessly blend into any gaming or entertainment setup without drawing unnecessary attention, emphasizing a focus on performance rather than mere visual spectacle.
In my usage, primarily with a Windows laptop during gaming sessions while docked, the Razer Nommo V2 Speakers have proven to be exceptional. The integration of THX Audio technology and the surround effect significantly elevates the overall gaming experience. The enhanced immersion, making every gaming session more enjoyable.

It was really hard giving these speakers 4 stars, because I really like Razer products and was looking forward to them. That’s not to say, these speakers aren’t good or not worth the money, they are probably great speakers for most people. For my desktop setup, I wanted to get rid of a bulky sound bar I was using for computer speakers. Even though it sounded good, it took up too much desk space, these satellite speakers are a good replacement size that don’t take up much room.
I’ll start with the positives. They sound good, they are clear and can get pretty loud, at least for an office area. Setup is straight forward, no assembly required. It works together with Razer’s synapse software, which you probably already have if you use any of Razers other products. You have different preset profiles that will automatically load based on your selection. It’ll scan the games on your computer and allow you to pick presets for them. Two important things you might want to change: 1. Change the power saving feature to OFF. It was very annoying to have these speakers shutdown after being idle, as they are actively connected to my PC and I had to manually turn them back on. Thankfully there is an option for this, and 2. More than likely you’ll want to switch it from Stereo sound to THX spatial audio. Both sound good, but stereo is more flat/2D sound, where the spatial sounds more full. What your used to or software you’re using, you might prefer the stereo as it has a bit of a cleaner sound though.
I’m also a fan of the usb connection. For me, I use my monitor as a KVM and have a desktop and gaming laptop I like to use for gaming, so now not only do my mouse and keyboard get switched to my laptop, but also the speakers which is very convenient for me. I also like the fact that these speakers have Bluetooth capability, options are always good to have. Fairly easy to connect to Bluetooth and it works well, but not sure why they didn’t have the same method for turning on and off Bluetooth. You now have to remember two different methods for this.
Now for the not so great things…the initial setup took my computer a couple of reboots to finally recognize the speakers. First the computer itself wouldn’t recognize it, then the Synapse software wouldn’t see them after the computer could. This was for both my computers, even after I installed the latest Synapse software. So expect to do some Synapse updates and probably 1-2 computer reboots before the software detects it. My other disappointment, is while the mids and highs sound pretty good, the bass is nearly non-existent. I know this is not the package that comes with the subwoofer which would normally carry majority of the bass load, but I expected a little bit to come from the speakers themselves. I play first person shooters, and hearing explosions and more life like sound is a big plus. The rear-facing bass must be quiet, that’s even after I bump up the EQ 31 & 63hz up.
Finally, this isn’t something I’m knocking it for, but my Razer mouse and keyboard have lights that sync up and match. It would have been nice to have a light ring or some optional light to match the other peripherals, but oh well.
Overall, its decent set of speakers, but I think they could have done better. I do like they these are setup to play with computers, consoles, or even smart phones. They have a nice modern look that adds a nice aesthetic to your desk or room. There has been no distortion no matter how loud I’ve played music or my games, and it sounds clean and crisp. However, if you want bass, I’d go with the subwoofer package.

Tremendous Gaming/Music PC Speakers

Wow, these are not your typical desktop speakers. Though they are Razer brand, these do not come with controllable RGB lighting. In fact there is no custom lighting at all. They are 2.0, that means, without a separate subwoofer, but are full range. They are BIG and heavy, you will need to make some space for them, especially depth wise that you might not be used to with desktop speakers. They have a power button right on them and will auto shut off by themselves with no activity going on, a very good power saving feature. I plugged them into my Windows 11 PC and had no problem getting them setup. They get pretty load and go quite high volume before any distortion starts to creep in. They are way louder than you need for any use while you are actually sitting at the desk/computer they are at. They are good enough for room filling music in most small to medium spaces. I also tested with my smartphone connected via Bluetooth, the speakers use Bluetooth 5.0. You tap the power button twice on the speakers to switch to Bluetooth mode, or select Bluetooth if you have the Razer Synapse 3 software installed on your PC. You can also connect your Nintendo Switch to the speakers via Bluetooth. This worked well and gives your setup a very clean look if using the Nintendo with a portable screen that does not have good speakers. You do have to use Razer Synapse 3 software on the PC to adjust the EQ (equalizer) settings for these speakers.

I’ve had many computer speakers over the years and these are easily towards the top of my list. Excellent balance of clear highs and just enough bass. The cylinder style shape helps to give that thump. I’m not a fan of speakers with a separate subwoofer that sits on the floor and just gets in the way so these are just right. Setup is simple with a power cord, cord to connect the two speakers and a USB connection to the computer. This is the first set of speakers I’ve had that connect with USB instead of an audio connection. No issues with this design. The speakers are bigger than I expected. Looking at the photos online they don’t look nearly as large as they really are. It’s not a problem and I don’t expect it will be an issue for most, but something to be aware of. Controls are as simple as it gets with a power button and volume buttons. My only complaint is the fact that the speakers are not adjustable. The speaker and stand are a single unit and can’t be adjusted. So far it hasn’t been a problem as I have them set on the sides of my monitor and the angle of the speakers seems fine. For gaming, I think these offer great sound that will allow you to hear every detail in a game. For music & media they are equally as capable. However, even though they sound great for all uses, if you are only going to use them for music I would look at other options that are more tailored to that use.

The connection is very spotty and when it does connect, the volume is all over the place. I don’t know if the device is defective or this is just how this is supposed to work. I’m gonna bring it back to the geek squad and have them look at it.

This is my first set of Razer speakers. The Razer Nommoo V2 X speakers were a major upgrade to my current 2.0 speakers. My gaming setup has never had impressive speakers, as I have always relied on a headset. I'm very impressed with the sound quality and overall sleek and futuristic look. The build quality is solid and sturdy, and the speakers are easy to set up and connect.
The sound performance is great. The speakers deliver clear and crisp audio with a balanced frequency range. The bass is powerful and punchy, but not overwhelming. The volume is loud enough to fill my office, but not too loud to disturb my neighbors.
You won’t find any RGB here with the 2.0 setup. If you ask me, that’s a benefit. I like the sleek design without all of the extra glow. With the Razer Synapse software, you can configure the EQ presets and customize the sound to my preference. Additionally, you can connect via Bluetooth. Beyond that, there are not too many other features.
Overall, I'm very happy with these speakers. They are a great addition to my gaming setup, and they enhance my total experience. The cost is reasonable, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a high-quality pair of speakers with a futurist but no frills design.

Razer's support personnel are inadequate
Found that either their supplied usb cable or the connection on the back of the speakers is out of spec and using a different USB cable allows them to work. Razer will not send a new cable. they just claim you never sent them proof of purchase and close the ticket

I was looking for 2.0 speaker set without the sub channel which would take up yet another outlet. I don't need anything hard hitting for the computer that this will be used on but I was looking for fuller sound from the background music I play. I also wanted to keeps wires down to a few as possible as I am already swimming in cables. Out of the box they sounded fairly good and will definitely fill a medium sized room with vibrant sounds and music but with Razer Synapse you can drill further into the EQ and tweak the sound to your preference. THX Spatial Audio seems more like marketing jargon for sound trickery. It sounds a bit artificial and is no replacement for a 5.1+ surround setup.
Presentation is top notch as with most Razer gear, but it will ultimately be tossed never to be enjoyed again. The 2 speakers are much larger than expected and they come on non removable/adjustable stands so they are meant to be placed at a certain level from your head so they can fire directly toward your ears. My current desk setup with multiple monitors doesn't allow me to place the speakers on either side so I have them on shelves above my head so they fire over my head. Not optimal but they still deliver excellent sound and I rarely have my volume up above 30-40%. The V2 X does not come with RGB which was fine by me but if you are chasing more RGB you will need 2 move up to the 2.1 system. I would've liked to have seen the Control Pod be included with this setup and not have to be a $50 add on. But I do have volume control on my keyboard. If the control pod drops down to the ~$35 range I may give it a go. The control are a button press volume up and down and a power button. A smooth volume dial or even a touch slider bar would have been a nicer feature, but I guess that's they you the Control Pod is $50.
Connectivity options are USB C to the back of the speaker and USB A to PC or Playstation 5 as well as Bluetooth. Both connections work well and switch easily. I like being able to switch 2 my phone to play music on the room speakers when I'm not on the PC.
Overall, I am happy with the speakers and more than satisfied with the sound but the slightly larger than expected size, non adjustable/removable stand and lack of Control Pod being included keep this from being a 5 Star product for me.

I was looking for a sound system for my kids computer that didn’t have a subwoofer so we wouldn’t constantly be hearing the thump of bass through the house. These ones seemed like they would fit the bill perfectly. I have many other Razer products for my own PC so I know they are good quality. These speakers were no different. Out of the box they feel nice and solid. The build quality is great and they look very good sitting on your desk. They are not too big and not too small that they take over your whole desk. They are also perfectly aimed to direct the sound right at your ears.
As far as sound quality goes, they are pretty good. They definitely lack the thump of a speaker set that has a subwoofer, but I found these to be pleasant to listen to music on as well as for gaming. They are definitely more tuned for gaming though.
They have the THX 7.1 channel Spatial audio which is a great feature for gaming. The speakers are able to throw sounds all over the place to give you a really immersive feel. This works best if you are fairly close to these speakers, like they would be sitting on your desk. If you used them under a TV for example to watch movies and sat further away from them, the effect isn’t as good.
They have a USB connection for your PC and they can also be connected to different devices via Bluetooth.
They also have a power and volume control right on top of the speaker, so no computer is needed to control the volume if you just want to use them as a Bluetooth speaker to play music through.
Overall, these are a good-looking set of desktop speakers that won’t break the bank. They lack the deep richness of a system with a subwoofer, but I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how good they sound considering what they are!

Classy gaming speakers

In the past having a pair of gaming speakers on your desk usually entailed having some oddly shaped speakers with RGB lights on them. in come the Razer Nommo V2 gaming speakers. When you open the box you definitely probably won't expect to pull out such large high quality speakers. Moat computer speakers that I have bought in the past are boxy looking speakers that look quite boring These speakers feature 3 inch full range drivers that help produce audio that beats all other computer speakers in this price range hands down. Most computer speakers produce a tinny sound when turned up to higher volumes. These speakers produce high quality booming sound that is smooth and clean. The speakers feature THX Spatial Audio in 7.1 surround sound that allows for a truly realistic sound profile while gaming or watching movies. The speakers can be connected via USB or via Bluetooth 5.0. One thing to keep in mind is that if your are using them in PC mode via the Usb connection you must remember to choose the speakers in your audio settings of your computer. The bass produced by the speakers is ok to the say the least but nothing compared to the pro version of these speakers which includes a wireless subwoofer. One thing to note is I had to adjust my computer equalizer settings in order to optimize my sound quality.

The first thing that I noticed about these speakers was the size. They are large and take up a decent amount of desk space but are sleek with minimalist design.
Setting up these speakers was quick and simple taking about 5 minutes with majority of the set up time being cable management. If you want to deal with as little cables as possible, you can use Bluetooth if gaming on a PC but will still need to connect aux if wanting to play on PS5 or Xbox.
Gaming with these speakers is incredible and even without a separate wireless subwoofer, the bass is good and clarity in audio when characters are talking is great. If you don't mind waking everyone up in the house, raising the volume to 70% will shake and rumble the room while 100% I would not recommend just due to harshness of sound.
Overall, these gaming speakers will not be the most high end and have separate accessories that do not come with this set but can fulfill your gaming needs. The bass is booming, the audio is clear, and you can make it loud enough to cause a rumble.

Sleek with Resonating Clarity

Today many people opt for headphones while gaming on their PC, but for those of us that prefer to utilize speakers these speakers by Razer should definitely be at the top of your list. The minimalism paired with the performance definitely set them at the top.
Right out of the box I was quick to note actually how large these speakers were. That is not to say they were made of just cheap flimsy plastic as the speakers have a heft to them and a feel that throws off a sense of quality. The speakers give off a sleek appearance with their matte black color that blends in nicely on any desk and gives a sophisticated appearance.
Setting these up was extremely quick as well for there is a power cable from one speaker that is to plug into an outlet, a cable to connect from one speaker to your PC, and then finally a cable to connect between the two speakers. So overall, there are three cables to handle when it comes to cable management which may deter some. However, it was quick and easy to get everything up and running.
Once everything was connected I launched a variety of games, songs, and movies to put these speakers through their paces. The outcome was exceptional as the clarity of these speakers is unmatched even when turning the volume up to higher levels. The bass is the only item where it appears there was some slight lacking though I presume the reason for this is that the intention is for you to purchase the corresponding subwoofer. However, that by no means goes to say you would not be satisfied with these speakers!
Two key features I do have to mention are the THX spatial audio and game profiles. With the spatial audio this is more of a surround sound feature geared to 7.1 surround sound, but is implemented here fairly effectively even with just the two speakers. You can definitely notice to an extent the positional accuracy of various sounds. This ties into the game profiles as the spatial audio is integrated into newer games so that these newer titles are built uniquely to benefit from this surround sound.
Overall though, some may state that the price is high, but from the build quality and aesthetics to the actual performance of these speakers there is little left to be desired. For those looking for a set of PC speakers that will provide the utmost clarity at any sound level these are a no brainer!

High-Quality PC Gaming Speakers

The Razer - Nommo V2 X Full-Range 2.0 PC Gaming Speakers are a great set of high-quality PC gaming speakers.
I don’t consider myself much of a sound snob, partly because my hearing seems to be steadily deteriorating as I’m getting older. I don’t notice as much of the minute differences in sounds from different sets of speakers the way many other people do but I still feel like I can confidently say these Razer – Nommo speakers are amazing.
One of the first things I’d like to point out about the Razer – Nommo speakers is the fact that they can be wired but they are also Bluetooth-compatible. They come with a USB type A to USB type C cable for those who want a wired connection to their PC but you can also connect the speakers wirelessly over Bluetooth. This really comes in handy if you choose to connect the speakers to your PC with the included cable while also having the ability to connect your phone to the speakers via the Bluetooth connection. It should be noted that the type C end of the included cable connects to the back of the speakers while the type A end connects to your PC so make sure you have the appropriate port available if you plan to wire these to your PC.
When it comes to performance, I really love the way these speakers sound. I especially like using the THX Spatial Audio which delivers a surprising surround sound feel when enabled even those this set only comes with two speakers. To turn this on, you simply have to download the free Synapse software (which is also the software to use if you want to customize any of the sound settings).
Overall, the Razer - Nommo V2 X Full-Range 2.0 PC Gaming Speakers are a great set of high-quality, high-end PC gaming speakers and I highly recommend them!
