Razer Seiren V2 X USB Condenser Microphone

The Razer Seiren V2 X USB Condenser Microphone is light weight but sturdy. Plastic is used for the bottom of the unit and a metal mesh for the top. On the front of the microphone there is a mute button and a gain control. On the back there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a Type-C port. The microphone comes with a Type-A to Type-C cable. A stand for desk top use is supplied. The microphone has a thoughtful design that allows for inclusion in the frame with out distraction from the host.
When the microphone is live the Mute button is Green, Red when muted. The gain control blocks out ambient sounds. Turning the know clockwise increases the gain. Counterclockwise decreases the gain.
The Razer Seiren V2 X USB Condenser Microphone works great without the Razer Synapse application installed. If you want to adjust the microphone, the Razer Synapse application is available to fine tune your microphone. The application has a mixer that enables you to manage the microphone and set up different profiles depending on use.
The sound output is very clear, and listeners commented on the change to the audio track.
I would recommend the Razer Seiren V2 X USB Condenser Microphone to family and friends.

Fantastic Mic

The mic’s sound quality is amazing. It’s crisp and clear; let’s just say people have taken novice. I love that the on off button exists right in the mic itself. Also on the front of the microphone is a volume button. Not having to change the volume on the computer but having that control right on the mic is a game changer. The mic is plug n play and installs software upon plugging it in. Getting the mic to work took a little work but had it up and running in no time. By that I mean you have to make some adjustments to your computer’s mic settings to let it know it’ll be picking up sound from the mic versus the computer’s default mic. This is customary in attaching any new mic device. I think the size of the mic is perfect in size, weight, and dimensions. The mic comes with a sturdy stand which allows for easy maneuvering. Noise cancelling of sounds such as sounds coming from tv, radio, others speaking nearby, etc., is a huge bonus of this mic. Let’s face it there’s always noise in our surroundings we can’t control but this mic takes care of all of that for you.
All-in-all a great mic which has enhanced all of my experiences.

Not very happy with the mic, I’d rather just have a normal headset for the mic, picks up too much noise and it cuts out ur voice some times, and yes I’ve updated the settings and messed with them but just don’t work

Great entry level mic!

My son recently got into game blogging and content creating. He was using my more expensive streaming mic, and being that he is 10 years-old, I was afraid that he would somehow break it.
So, I got the opportunity to get my hands on the Razer - Seiren V2 and I have to say that, for the price, it really is a great entry level mic. You get your standard audio adjustments directly on the mic, it has a built in stand (which my more expensive mic does NOT have), and a microphone aux port. The only thing that is missing, and I wish came with the mic, a foam cover. I'm not sure why they don't include one, but I had one laying around.
My son and I decided to give the Razer - Seiren V2 a try. We did our first video together. After listening back to our recording, I have to say that I am impressed with the sound quality of the Razer - Seiren V2. My son also approved of the mic, and he really enjoys the built-in stand. It was so easy to use that he even set it up himself. So, if a 10 year-old can setup this mic, pretty much anyone can.
Overall, we are both very impressed by the quality of the Razer - Seiren V2.
I would highly recommend the Razer - Seiren V2 to anyone.

Stand out with this great desk mic

I have been looking to up my content creation game for some internal content creation at work, and after reviewing some of my internal streams / videos one of the things I've noticed is that the audio quality on my videos has a bit of an "echo-y" quality to it, likely from using the built in mic on my webcam.
I decied to select the Razer Siren V2 X Mic as it looked like it would foot the bill for my content without breaking the bank - and to be candid, I really liked the way it looked. It seems a lot of the microphones these days are geared toward streamers being on camera and having immediatly discernable qualities so it can be recognized on video. The Razer Siren V2 X has a rather conservative look on my desk and I like that.
The first thing I noticed when I pulled this out of the box was the build quality. It's heavier than I was expecting and has a high-end feel even though the body of the mic is plastic. The metal grate over the mic/windscreen really gives this an appearance of a profesisonal piece of equipment sitting on my desk.
Connection to my Mac Studio was simple, but due to my other peripherial connections, I had to use a USB-A to USB-C converter as I did not have a a free USB-A port. Given that the mic has USB-C on the microphone end, and most newer / high end rigs are going the way of USB-C, that would have been a nice default. On the Mac, you have to go into system preferences and choose the Razer mic as the default input device at which point all input comes through this mic.
Though the microphone has a USB-C cable, it does have somewhat of a proprietary cable - the USB-C port is recessed and the cable end is moulded to look like part of the mic body - should the cable need to be replaced, I think you'd have to search for a cable that would fit the narrow opening for the USB-C port.
Included with the mic is a round desk stand with a ball mount, allowing you to sit the mic on your desk and adjust to practically an infinite number of positions. The mic itself has a glowing green mute button, and will turn red when it is muted, which is a nice touch. On the Mac at least, this is a local mute to the mic, it does not trigger mute on any of my applications (i.e. on Zoom, the applicaiton does not show mute, but the mic does not send any audio input to the computer when the mic is muted.) The mic also has a local gain control knob, which does not have stop on either end, so you can scroll it infinitely in either direction - so you have to use your input level meter or have someone on the other end of a conference app tell you how you are sounding to get the level dialed in.
Performance wise, this is a huge upgrade to my streaming setup. My first test was on a Zoom meeting - and immediately people said I sounded different. Doing A/B comparisons between the built in webcam mic and this mic were night and day. This mic had zero echo, and no matter how far away from the mic I moved my desk chair, I was consistently told it sounded like I was speaking right into the microphone. It's excellent at weeding out background noises as well - my upset toddler at my office door was completely inaudible when using this mic.
For the price, this is a no brainer. Even if you're not a content creator and simply want to up your conference call game, this is an excelelnt way to set yourself apart from the pack of those with simple webcam or built in laptop mics.

Pretty cool mic!

This mic is compact and solid. Even just by looking at it, I can tell the quality by the materials used—then once I felt the case and the build, it looks very durable.
Out of the box, it is easy to install. It comes with a USB-C connector to the back but it cannot just be any USB connector because the molding around the socket is unique to the back of the mic. The overall size is perfect, and it fits my desktop set up without it sticking out like any other peripheral.
Once it is connected, the Razer Synapse app automatically comes up for installation. The app is cool because it comes in like a mixer, so it helps manage my connected devices to align my inputs and outputs plus, controls the levels of the connected devices. Also, it enables me to create profiles so I can have settings specific to what game I am using the mic with.
Sound recorded is pretty good. On my regular headset mic, the sound comes out a little muffled. But with this microphone, my recording comes out crisp, and tends to be a little high—but I think I can adjust that with the app.
Also I like the mute light indicator—green when on and red when it’s muted; so I don’t accidentally leave the mic on and have other people hear things they should not. One thing that I am not used to: the volume dial doesn’t stop—meaning it keeps going left or right—it takes some getting used to—but it just means that I have to keep dialling to adjust the volume levels as there is no full left to tell me the volume is totally down or full right to tell me it is on full volume. I realized how good it is for recording levels—so I don’t get used to a certain dial position because the hardware and the software (app) levels work hand-in-hand with each other.
Pretty cool microphone if you ask me. Great hardware quality and awesome sound output. It looks good on video recordings too—I don’t mind keeping it in the screen when my video is on. Good job Razer!

Great update to the Seiren X

So I was able to directly compare this mic to its predecessor the Seiren X and it seems Razer has updated the mic to directly respond to a lot of the considerations brought up with the original Seiren X. First of all the "volume" knob on the old Seiren (which was only usable to control passthrough volume for like a headphone) has been replaced by a gain knob. This definitely shows Razer was listening to their customer base as that was one of the biggest complaints with the original was there was no way to adjust the actual mic volume without going into software.
Design wise it looks like the Mini and the Seiren had a picture perfect baby. While the old Seiren had a hint of flair to the design trying to emulate some higher end mics, it looks like they've gone back to the standard mic bulb for the v2 which is fine. Overall it seems to perform better versus the original, voice sounds slightly clearer, and the addition of the gain control definitely makes this one worth the upgrade. Standard notes, mute button on the front that goes red when you're muted, glows green when you've got an open mic. I'd prefer to have the ability to turn off the green "mic on" functionality and leave the red mic off functionality but it's not too terribly bothersome that I'd pick anything else. For your your beginning streamer, Discord user, Teams user that wants to upgrade to a stand-alone mic, etc... this is probably the best bang for your buck as it works well, plug and play lives up to its name, and clarity is on par with some of my higher end mics.

Excellent Budget to Mid-Tier Podcasting/Gaming Mic
|

As someone who both streams and podcasts, I’ve really come to love my time with the Razer Seiren V2 X. It is an easy plug and play budget-mid-tier mic with an excellent warm and smooth sound. The gain and mute buttons on the front make it very easy to adjust on the fly, or mute quickly. The base is weighted nicely so that when I had the mic head tilted back towards my face, it didn’t feel like it was going to tip over.
While the sound quality is strong and warm, it could be better for the price. It does not include a pop filter or boom arm which can cause some issues by picking up sound from outside of just your mouth when close to it. Since I have a clicky mechanical gaming keyboard, I could hear the sounds of it quite a bit.
All things considered, this is a great little package of gaming/streaming mic. I loved it the most when I was podcasting since I click keys less during that. The tonal quality of the recording is just very pleasant so I highly recommend this mic. You just might need a few accessories to get it fully up and running.
Pros:
Plug and play with USB
Gain and Mute Buttons on the mic
Decent shock absorption
Beautiful and simple design
Feels sturdy
Tiltable mic head
Razer Synapse audio mixing app is relatively simple to use
Cons:
No pop filter or boom arm included
Picks up some unwanted sound
Price
Razer Synapse audio mixing app could be more robust

Great for gaming sessions with the boys!

I’ve been wanting a solid microphone for my gaming sessions with my friends, and although my headphones do have a microphone, I prefer to have a standing mic for better sound and less stuff blocking my view while gaming.
Some of the things I enjoy about this Razer microphone include the following:
Built Quality – 5/5 – Razer continues to impress me in the quality of their products because the black is a beautiful stealth color and the metal built in this make just screams quality. Super satisfy!
Sound – 5/5 – I tested this mic compared to the one in my headphones and another stand up mic that I have, and this is the one which sounded the best on the recordings I got via software. Similarly, I asked my friends to let me know which mic sounded better and all of them said this Razer was better.
Software – N/A – Personally, I don’t use Razer’s software because I feel like it slows down my computer, but I am glad to report that this works just as great without the software so don’t let them trick you when the window pops up. Don’t use it if you don’t need to!
Overall, 5/5 for me. Highly recommend it! I didn’t use it for Podcasts, but I have no doubts this would do a great job with that as well!

Greatvfor beginning streamers

I have had a travel vlog for a while, but I am just now getting in to doing voice overs for videos and streaming broadcasts. I was looking for something with quality sound, but that would be easy to set up and operate for someone new to external microphones. The Razer Seiren fit the bill perfectly.
Initial operation was as simple as plugging in the microphone. This isnt a high-end streaming microphone and the sound reflects that. Its good, much bettervthan what i getbwithbthr built in PC mic ir a headset mic, but it does pick up a fair amount of background noise and keystrokes. This isnt a huge deal for voice overs since im able to record in a quiet environment, but for live streams where im using my keyboard or other people are moving around the house, it can be distracting. A boom arm, which isnt included, may help with that.
Build quality is solid, and it looks great on camera. It's a matte plastic, but it doesnt feel cheap at all. It looks like a more expensive microphone. Forba first foray into an external streaming microphone, rhisbis a good option.

If you're looking for plug and play simplicity, you may be disappointed. To get the most out of this mic, you really need to spend some time with the Razer Synapse software.
Out of the box, the mic is nice and comes with an excellent, sturdy stand. This is a bit ironic, though, since to get the best reception you really want to be close to this mic (or hold it in your hand). The default settings do a good job of filtering out background noise, but even more than a foot away and your voice will start sounding faint. There's an excellent gain range for the mic, though, easily accessible via the front knob.
To get the most out of this device, you really need to use the Synapse software. In the software you can make really granular adjustments to various volumes from input sources and can maximize speech volume and output, but be warned: expect to spend some time in setup. There is a huge amount of options and a lot of testing necessary to create an optimal audio feed. If you want to use this mic, be prepared to set aside some time configuring your settings.
One really great feature with this mic that should be highlighted is the analogue gain limiter. This was extremely effective at eliminating popping and clipping caused by spikes in volume. I was really impressed in how this feature smoothed out sudden volume spikes in my speech.
If you are going to use this for audio recording, some time spent with the settings in Synapse will yield great results. If you want to use this for streaming, the same patience with the software is required, but since you'll be doing multiple things at once you might want to pick up a boom as well.
All in all, a pretty good mic option for recording of you're prepared to spend some time tweaking your settings.

Compact USB Microphone, SuperCardioid Pickup

The Razer Seiren V2 X is a super compact USB microphone. In fact, opening the box I was "wow" this is compact. Despite the small size, it still feels solid, with decent weight, and the matte black looks great. Design-wise, the Seiren V2 X is minimalist. There's a USB C port (nice braided USB C to USB A cable included), a headphone jack, a gain control, and a mute button. The Razer Serien micrphone has a supercardioid pickup. If you're not familiar with what that means, it means the microphone pickup is focused primarily on front sound but also does pickup a little of the noise behind the microphone. There's only this setting on the Seiren, you can't adjust it using the free Razer Synapse software. This isn't a problem, more an FYI for those that care about this stuff. In use, the sound quality from the Seiren is great - it definitely exceeded my expectations, it is clear and in tests with others and listen to playback, I feel the sound reproduction is faithful. For the size, I'm impressed and it's small enough to throw in bag to use wherever I need a microphone. I do want to let people know though that there is one odd design choice, the microphone can tilt (great) but it tilts. It won't tip over, but it's worth knowing the tilt is from the base because when I first assembled it (you screw the microphone and stem onto the base) I thought I had mis-threaded the screw and momentarily panicked. It was all fine, but feel other needs to be aware of this so you don't panic like I did. Overall, impressed with the Razer Seiren and would recommend it to others.

I teach online college courses and used this microphone to record some college lectures. I used with with a MacBook Pro. There was no software that I had to download, just plugged it in and it worked which was great. The microphone stand does swivel so you can adjust it toward whoever is speaking. It has a mute and adjustable gain right on the device itself. Another very great feature is that it has a headphone jack on the back so you can plug in and listen to what is being recorded which I found to be very helpful. It did a good job eliminated "outside" noise. My computer fan would sometimes be spinning but this sound was completely eliminated and it can not be heard on the recording at all. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 stars is that this device comes with a standard usb connection rather than the newer USB C end so you will need to use an adapter if you have a newer computer. Oddly enough the other end that plugs into the unit is a USB C connector. :/ For podcasting or other streaming applications this mic will do the trick.
