Streamers and gamers save your money, get a cheaper mic, it does what it needs to do but the quality is not very good for the price. It works fine, sometimes, its not clear when its muted and the sound quality varies.

Upon unboxing, this looks and feels like a quality microphone. Nice braided cable to connect it to your PC. The metal base and yoke has some heft to it, the mic body itself is stylish and sleek even when it’s not lit up. When it is lit up, there are eight quick effects that you can pick from in the Synapse software or you can click on advanced effects and use Chroma Studio to customize the lighting to your preferences. I didn’t mess with mine besides setting it to “Fire” and enjoying the flickering flame-like LED effect. You can also select to turn off the lighting when the screen display turns off, otherwise it will revert to the default lighting pattern. A handy feature is that the lighting can be set to change based on what either the multifunction button or the single knob is doing. For instance, if you short press the button, the mic will glow red to indicate that the mic is muted. A second short press unmutes it and it will go back to whatever color pattern you have set. Two taps cycles the Chroma effect while three taps toggles the Chroma effect on and off. A long press switches the front dial function from headphone volume to microphone volume and back. You can select to have the mic scroll colors from red to orange to yellow to green just while you’re adjusting the volume so you get a visual representation of the level if you can’t see the screen. You can adjust the brightness of your lighting effect to suit you. You can have it change color as a visual cue that your audio levels are peaking. The yoke has both a 5/8 and 3/8 thread so you can mount it to a boom arm. I mention that because you’ll probably want to budget for a boom to get the mic up off your desk to reduce unwanted noise transfer from keyboard and mouse clicks and noises like that. I like the way I sound on this mic, I have my headphones connected to the 3.5mm port on the back of the mic. There’s plenty of adjustments through Synapse to get the levels where I want them so it’s not clipping and I sound natural. It does integrate with OBS and my other video editing software, I did have to download Synapse twice to get it to work though. The first time, my mic wasn’t automatically recognized and I was getting an error message on startup. I went to the manufacturer’s website and downloaded it again, ran the installer, and it came right up. If you can’t hear audio in the headphones make sure the cables are fully inserted, my jack was snug and it needed a little extra pressure to fully insert. In windows, make sure you have the Seiren selected as the audio out source also. It wasn’t intuitive that I needed to select a mic as a speaker but that’s what makes the headphones work when they’re plugged into the mic. “Should” switch automatically for you when you plug in though. This has been a solid upgrade to my setup and I would recommend it.

The Stream and Game Reactive Lighting, powered by Razer Chroma RGB, adds a whole new level of immersion to my streams. Not only does it sync seamlessly with Chroma-integrated games, but it also reacts to stream events like emotes and alerts, enhancing the overall atmosphere. This microphone takes my online communications to a new level. I work remote so 99% of my work interactions are via online meetings. This microphone has dynamically improved the audio that other hear when we are meeting. The microphone is directional, so it picks up my voice while filtering out surrounding noises. There is a dial on the front that allows me to control the sensitivity. The microphone works with the Razer Synapse software to better control and configure all of the features. The microphone has a headphone jack so the front dial can be configured to control the headphone or microphone volume. The sampling rate can be set from 44.1 kHz to 96 kHz. There is also a High Pass Filter, Advance Gain Settings, Radio Voice EQ, and a Noise Gate to ensure that you sound your best. On the top is a big button that can be set to have different capabilities depending on if you do a single, double, or triple tap. A single tap always toggles Mute, and the color goes to red. The double and triple tap can be set to set a specific chroma effect, cycle effects, or toggle the effect on and off. The Chroma effect give the microphone a very cool effect, they can be solid or dynamic.

When it works, the Razer Seiren V4 Chroma Condenser USB Microphone does a nice job of recording/capturing voice input and making it sound clear, and it looks very nice/colorful. The person I chatted with on video complimented how it looked without me asking. The instructions are a little complicated, and I admittedly may have not fully understood what they were saying (for example they say pressing/tapping/holding a button for 3 seconds does two different things). When I tested it the first day, things worked great. It was nice, it came with a good length cable, I was even able to (not that you'd want to do this) bring an exercise bike near my desk and bring the Seiren over to the bicycle and pedal lightly while recording audio/video. I admittedly got a little frustrated the second day with this microphone when I wanted to stream video using this as the microphone. Every time I tried to use it the mic was red and the software said the mic was muted. I would tap the button until it turned green (yay) but like 3 seconds later it was red again and not recoding audio. This process repeated about 10 times until I gave up and went back to my old mic because I had to do the video streaming I was doing. I am certain it's not broken, it's possibly an issue with the USB hub it was plugged into (I didn't have time during the streaming to play with that). I will tinker with the settings before my next video meeting and see if I can get it going then. For better or worse, I have a limited time to write this review, so I can only base my review on the experience I had in that time. I'm inclined to give it 4-stars, I would give it 5-stars base on it's look and recording quality, except that it didn't work when I needed it.

The sound quality is top-notch. It really captures my voice clearly while cutting out background noise, which is great because my room isn’t always the quietest. The built-in gain limiter helps keep my audio levels balanced, even when I get loud during intense moments. Setup was a breeze—just plug it in, and you’re ready to go. The Razer Synapse software lets you tweak the settings to get everything just right. I love that you can adjust the mic sensitivity and customize the lighting effects. The noise-dampening feature is a lifesaver, especially if you don’t have a perfectly quiet space. It keeps unwanted noise out of my streams, making my voice come through clearly. The mic is also versatile. It works with mic arms, which is perfect for my setup. Plus, it comes in different colors like Quartz, Black, and White, so you can pick the one that fits your style. Overall, I’m really happy with the Razer Seiren V3 Chroma. It’s a fantastic mix of style and function, and it’s made my streams look and sound much more professional. If you’re looking to upgrade your streaming gear, I highly recommend it!

As someone with a background in Radio and TV Broadcasting, definitely love to check out new microphones. I have spent considerable time as an on-air DJ at a local radio station, and I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide array of microphones. This microphone seems to be geared towards gamers. Out of the box it feels like a solid microphone, and appears to be well built. You get the microphone, stand, USB cable, and some documentation. It took me a little while to figure out exactly what software they wanted you to use with it as that wasn’t clearly apparent with what you get. Eventually I found out that you can get the software called Razer Synapse to help adjust the mics parameters and colors and things like that. Since it appears the software is used for all Razer products, its not the most intuitive or easy to use. So, there will definitely be a learning curve if you want to use their software. If you just plan to use this as a USB microphone with whatever recording software you use, you won’t have any problems. Using their software though you can create some cool lighting patterns and have it sync with other Razer peripherals you may have like mice or keyboards. On the mic itself you have an input level control knob as well as the USB and headphone connectors on the back. The mic also has a touch control on the top where if you tap it the mic will mute and the color will turn red. This is actually a very useful feature to have and I found myself using it quite often! It’s nice to visually be able to see that your mic is muted. It is a super cardioid condenser microphone which basically means it is designed to record what is right in front of it and block out a lot of the background noise that is behind it or off to the side. For recording I use Adobe Audition. I found the microphone to do a good job of blocking out a lot of background sounds. It wont completely cut them out, but it will drastically reduce them. As far as the recording sound quality. I found it to be pretty good. I have a very deep and bassy voice and I found that this picked it up pretty well. I had to do a little EQ to bring out some of the low end, but overall, it sounded really good. If you are looking to use this for gaming, or recording podcasts and things like that, it will work out very well for you. One thing I wish this had was a windscreen, because I did notice lots of pops if I wasn’t speaking into the mic at the right angle. I do realize that would kind of defeat the whole color thing because that would be covered up, but at the end of the day it’s a microphone and should be able to record the best sound possible with the light show being an afterthought. Overall, for general use this microphone will work great for most people. In a professional setting, not so much. Definitely check it out though if you are looking for a good basic microphone for your computer.

    Solids Microphone for the cost

Like everyone else, I had to adapt my way of work when COVID hit. I had a home office already, but in the new age of ZOOM calls with clients, I needed to add a few more pieces of equipment. One of the first lessons I learned was that the built in microphone on my laptop was NOT up to the task. My calls were muddy and of really low volume. I had to shout to be heard. What I needed was an external USB microphone for my setup. Over the course of the next two years, I tried abut a half dozen different microphones. Some had great sound, but were way too big for my setup. Others were small, but their sound wasn't much of an improvement over the laptop. I cycled through many until I received this Razer Siren V3 microphone. This may be the one that lasts. As a 50 (ish) year old Engineer, I'm not the typical target audience for Razer products. I don't stream and never game online. Razer products are known for their quality but also for their flashy backlights, highlights, whatever with outrageous colors. They never were an option for me in the past until I got this microphone recommended to me. It's a good size for my setup- not too large as it fits nicely next to my monitor. The sound is outstanding. I get lots of complements on it during calls. The dial on the front to work the levels is handy as well. Tapping the top to mute is handy. It connects via USB to my monitor which then connects via a single cable to my laptop. It's all very convenient. The base is weighted nicely and the microphone doesn't move around much. I've been very happy with it's performance versus my much more expensive Yeti that had been part of my setup. All that said, the lights can be a bit much. They are fully configurable. You can have a solid light in multiple color options, rotating colors over time, or the lights can pulsate to the cadence of your voice. Cool features if I was streaming probably, but in my case, my favorite setting is off. No lights at all is an option which will work well for older professionals like me. My only knock is that when I unplug my laptop then plug it back in later, it forgets my off selection and picks back up with the defauly lights. I have to reset it each time to off. I wish it remembered the last setting. If you're looking for a decent sounding microphone, I highly recomment this one.

Anyone interested in sounding better when podcasting, video casting, online gaming matches, participating in Meet, Zoom, Webex, or using Google Voice and similar computer-based voice communication should seriously consider moving to a real microphone such as this Razor Seiren V3 Chroma USB RGB Condenser microphone. It has a long name, but it has a long set of good features especially for gamers who enjoy RGB colorful effects. It comes equipped with a substantial weighted round desk stand, a substantial and hefty 2-meter length (6.5 feet) USB A to USB C connecting cord, the illuminated microphone and fast Plug & Play capability. The mic is plastic and light in weight but has good performance. The mic uses a SUPERCARDIOID CONDENSER element that captures voice detail while having a tight pickup pattern to avoid room noises. The front of the microphone (directly above the multi-function adjustment knob) is where users should speak for best sound quality since that is the spot where the condenser element is located. Of note: if you have a noisy keyboard or type strongly, the mic will pick up those sounds as you type; move it about to minimize that since the sound pick-up pattern is approximately 16-20 inches from the front vertical barrel of the mic itself. The desk stand has a grippy bottom, so it stays put. The cable is replaceable with a shorter one if you wish as long as it has USB-A to USB-C connectors on each end. Of note: the threaded mic stand fitting will allow removing the mic to attach it to a boom with a ⅝” male to ⅜” female thread screw adapter (not included) which is specified in the included instruction sheet. I used it as is on my desk since I don't have a mic boom (yet). I appreciated the instant tap once feature to mute as well as the ability to change the RGB colors by turning the front knob, tapping 2 times on top also starts a RGB color change option. In use, the test calls, internet voice sessions and other tests all produced reports that the sound was detailed, deep and of high quality and easily was much better than laptop microphones and those in Bluetooth speakers with built in speakerphone functions. The rear of the mic is where the cable is plugged in with the USB C end and where a ⅜” analog headphone port is available to plug in headphones for monitoring while in use. Note: in Windows, select this mic as the audio output if you are intending to use the mic’s rear port for headphones. RAZOR makes available a free full featured utility program called Razor Synapse which adds many functions to both audio control as well as adjusting the RGB color functions on this microphone as well as all other RAZOR RGB products. A section called Chroma Studio has a multitude of adjustment settings for the lighting; another section has many options for the audio quality and levels. The V3 has built in digital gain limiting and built-in shock absorbing to eliminate overly loud distorted audio and loud noises heard by listeners on the other end. The control knob on the front allows adjusting the mic gain for achieving a good broadcast sound while in use. Highly recommended !

The Razer – Seiren V3 Chroma Condenser USB Microphone is a professional quality microphone that can duplicate studio quality performance. It can pick up audio sounds from a great distance or I can use the Gain control knob to reduce any background noise. The Razer – Seiren V3 Chroma Condenser USB Microphone should be the first choice, when needing a professional sounding microphone. It performs just as a higher cost microphone does without straining finances. Peoples’ voices are picked up from any area within the room and sounds as though the person is speaking right in front of the microphone. Multiple people speaking at the same time can be heard clearly without any distortion. The downloading of Razer Gaming software opens up a variety of features that can customize the output of the microphones sound. Razer gaming software was enabled after the Razer – Seiren V3 Chroma Condenser USB Microphone was plugged into my computers USB port. I was given the option of installing Razer Synapse which is a unified hardware configuration tool for rebinding controls, assigning macros or personalizing the lighting. Also, it has chroma effects ability that can change into spectrum cycling, audio level wave, static, and chroma breathing. It has a microphone volume control, gain control, mute button and headphone input. The appearance is that of a professional studio microphone you might find used in a radio station. The base is extremely heavy enough to secure the Razer – Seiren V3 Chroma Condenser USB Microphone. My amateurish sounding voice was processed by the Razer – Seiren V3 Chroma Condenser USB Microphone and was changed into a more professional news anchor sounding voice. The Razer – Seiren V3 Chroma Condenser USB Microphone is a great versatile starter microphone for a professional online voice.

3.5 jack was untested) The Seiren V3 Chroma lives up to its name - from the very moment it is plugged in, the lights easily light up a dark room. Once the drivers were installed, and Razer Synapse updated, control over the microphone was extremely straight forward. Color range is quite vast and brightness (after turning it down some) perfect. Audio volume is great, even with a low voice, and is extremely crystal clear. The "hidden" feature to light red when the volume is peaking is also a great add on. I will note, when muting the microphone via the quick tap at the top, the tap itself is able to be heard. The nob, on the front, is not able to be heard though. The nob itself is also kept with a reasonable resistance so it's not too easy to spin. The microphone as a whole, is also difficult to accidentally push over with the base it comes with. While I do not have a boom arm to test it, the screw in/out of the base is tight and secure and seems that it wouldn't fall out. The adjustable nobs on the hinge also make the microphone extremely snug and rigid. There's also been a few version changes for the firmware. Some of the features present on Razer's on website are hidden. I highly recommend updating the firmware with their downloadable tool. Once fully updated, there is a handful of newer features become available, such as Stream mix and more control over the tap button and dial. All in all, 5/5. One of the best microphones Razer has released so far. Using for twitch, YouTube and online chatting.
