The Razer USB 4 docking station is a compact, but quite full featured docking station. In a compact aluminum alloy casing measuring about 3” deep by 7.5” wide by 1” tall, you get 14 ports (including power input) in total. On the back you get a power input for the 180W adapter (which has a separate power brick), alongside the upstream USB 4 port which supports 40 Gb/s data transfer speeds and also features 100W of device charging to your laptop. Then you get your HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 for dual display support, a 1GB ethernet port, 2 USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, and one USB-A 2.0 port. On the side you get another USB-A 2.0 port specifically for 2.4 Ghz dongles like a wireless mouse. On the front is a UHS-II port for both MircoSD & SD cards, a 3.5mm microphone/headphone combo port (which as a wired headphone purist I love), two USB-C 3.2 ports which support 20W device charging, and a USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port. For my laptops, these are plenty of ports, although I do wish there was maybe 1 less USB-A port and 1 more USB-C port, but that is a matter of preference. Many peripherals are still USB-A sourced, so I can understand wanting more USB-A ports, and you can always use adapters if needed. Since you are passing data over USB 4, you do want to make sure you are using the right peripherals for the right ports to ensure you are maximizing your bandwidth potential, saving high bandwidth devices for the faster ports. I use a 3440x1440 175 hz monitor as my primary monitor and gaming display, and I had no issues getting my laptop up and running at full resolution and refresh rate. My primary driver is an Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 laptop, and is notoriously finicky with docks, specifically when it comes to charging since the G16 is quite power hungry. Normally I get power warnings when trying to charge the laptop and transfer video with a dock, but this is the first dock that seems to have taken to working great right out of the box, with the 100W charging being enough for the laptop. I played a few games from the laptop on my ultrawide with all of the peripherals connected, and didn’t run into any issues with the connectivity or display. I did have to update some drivers on the laptop when first set-up, but after that and a reboot it was smooth sailing, using the dedicated GPU with HDR. I also swapped to my work PC for a while to do general multitasking, and again ran into no issues. After a few hours of usage, the dock also stayed fairly cool and quiet. I haven’t stressed it for a long day of use yet, but I don’t anticipate any issues with the build and design, given it feels quite premium. No complaints on my end all around.

4K 120Hz with 10-bit HDR, wish it was 240Hz though

TL:DR - I am happy with it! It can do 4K 120 without any issues, it can also display 4K 240, but it doesn’t work well, it keeps flickering for me so it is not really usable, so I guess it can’t do 4K 240 lol, but thought I’d mention it. I was able to get 4K 120 with 10-Bit HDR and good performance there. I had my USB speakers attached, keyboard and mouse, headset dongle, and game controller’s wireless dongle attached. It doesn’t provide enough power for my particular laptop, but it will ‘trickle’ charge it in a worse case scenario. Long story short, it’s much better than the docking station I was coming from. — I love my 4K QD OLED monitor, way more so than the 300 Nit IPS display my laptop comes with. My laptop’s screen is not the best, but it’s what was available in 2023. My 4080 laptop comes with a 330 watt charger and this docking station didn’t have enough power to supply it, but it was able to trickle charge it. Specifically saying, if I had my laptop off it’d charge fine. I turned on Advanced Optimus and ran off the integrated graphics, and it was able to supply enough charge to actually charge it while doing daily tasks. Like writing this review. However as soon as I launched a game the graphic performance tanked and it wasn’t enough. But not a big deal since I just plug in two things rather than a bunch. Prior to this, I would have to plug my monitor in, power, USB dongle for headset, docking station, and wireless controller. My previous docking station which only did 4K 60 despite it saying it could do 4K 120 didn’t work when I turned on HDR. So the Razer already offered a huge perk over what I had. Setting it up was super easy, plug and play really. No instructions needed. I’m really happy with this since I can game in the living room, but whenever I need to do something more ‘enhanced’, I just run to my game room, plug in my PC to the dock and game away. My wife even uses it with her MacBook from time to time. At the end of the day, it’s a nice looking, and super beneficial addition to my set up. Very happy with it!

The Razer USB 4 dock is fairly easy to recommend. With its multitude of input options, it should satisfy the needs of nearly anyone looking for a dock for their laptop. - Ports The dock features many ports that will likely keep you from needing any other hubs or dongles. I really appreciate the inclusion of both MicroSD and SD card slots too. As someone who shoots photos and videos on several cameras and drones, it's nice to be able to just slide the cards into the dock, not worrying about adapters or card readers. The monitor options are also welcome, with HDMI or DisplayPort. I am also happy to be able to power my laptop, even under heavy loads with the dock. I have a Razer laptop with a 3080ti and an i9, and this dock is able to keep it charged during heavy use. While I really like all the USB ports, I do wish they focused more on USB C ports. I would have happily sacrificed some of the USB A style ports for more USB C, since that's what most devices use these days. - Design The dock itself is smaller than I may have imagined as well. Especially considering all the connectivity it provides. It is very sleek and understated, which should help it go nicely with any setup. - Setup As you can imagine, setup was very easy. Using the back port for power, and connecting my monitor and other devices. Everything worked easy and seamlessly. Pros: Price (while it may seem expensive to some, for what's offered, there aren't many other docks that can compete), ease of use, lots of USB ports, proper power delivery for charging, inclusion of both MicroSD and SD card readers Cons: I wish there were more USB C ports, as that would suit my uses better

I work from home and my desk setup includes: -Two 32” 4K 165Hz monitors -Dell work laptop -Macbook Air M3 15” -Galaxy S10 Plus Tab -iPhone 15 Pro Max -Z-Fold 6 -Old iPhone 6S Plus (used as an always-on media player -Plus several other items that I charge from time-to-time I’ve had a few docks that met most of my needs from HP and Dell but none met all my needs, and this dock is the one that has come closest. The Razer dock will take care of all the devices mentioned above, and then some. This dock has 14 ports! I have the ethernet port connected plus an HDMI for one monitor. The USB A ports contain my video camera and a charging cable for the iPhone 6S Plus. The front USB C ports have charging cables for whenever I need to charge another device. I am only using one video signal from the dock because only one runs faster than 60Hz if I use two monitors. With one HDMI cable I can get 4K @ 165Hz. When I use the DisplayPort it drops one from 165Hz to 120Hz and the second monitor only runs at 4K @ 60Hz. I contacted Razer and they confirmed - only one display will be at a higher refresh rate than 60Hz if you have two monitors connected to the dock. This is an unfortunate limitation for a “gaming” dock - or at least a dock from a gaming company. The Razer still does have a leg up on my other docks though as they are limited to 60Hz regardless of the monitors connected. If you have one ultrawide monitor - this dock is great. If you use more than one monitor and need/want the higher refresh rate you will need to connect the additional monitors separately. Other than the refresh rate issue I really like the dock. I haven’t had any issues. It runs warm but not hot so far. I got the silver or “Mercury Edition” which looks really nice. It's very sleek and modern. The Razer dock has simplified and cleaned up my workspace a bit too. I was able to get rid of a few charging blocks and clean up my desk. Overall I am very happy with the dock. This is an excellent solution for anyone with multiple monitors where 60Hz refresh rate is acceptable - most people looking at this for work will be fine. If you are considering the Razer USB 4 Dock because you are a gamer and recognize Razer as a gaming company, just know the refresh rate on a second monitor plugged into this dock will only run at 60Hz.

Great dock!! You won’t need any other! If you really want to make your laptop into a desktop replacement, this dock will let you do that easily! You will be able to have multiple displays thru a single connection to your laptop, including charging your laptop thru this dock. I have a standalone computer monitor via DisplayPort cable and a 65” 4K OLED via HDMI cable, and the laptop display itself, all running at once with no problems at all. If you have multiple USB devices and run out of ports on your laptop, this is great. I have a USB keyboard, USB wireless mouse, USB wireless game controller, 2 USB hard drives. I can now have it all plugged in at once. The drives all seem to run at the max speed. What is great about this setup is that if I take my laptop with me away from the desk, when I can return home, not only is it just one plugin away from the whole setup being ready to go at my desktop with all my peripherals, but it just keeps everything neat and tidy on my desktop. It will also charge my laptop at up to 100 watts with this dock's included charger, but I can also charge my phone as well, not needing the laptop to do this. I also get full ethernet speed out of the dock to my laptop. I have an ethernet line wired directly to my desktop, and just like that I can max out my bandwidth. You also get an SD card reader, which works out great for me, as I don’t have one built in to my laptop. You can also use this with a Steam Deck and ROG Ally X, and it works just as well for both situations too, and because this comes with a 100 watt charger, you won’t need your other charger for those handheld devices. This dock also frees up my ports directly on the laptop in case I did ever need to plug anything else in. While this isn’t the most inexpensive dock, it does present a really great value, considering other docks are at least this much money, and most do not have this many ports! Highly recommended for those needing extra ports when at home.

If you’re looking to streamline your workspace while boosting productivity and enhancing your gaming experience, the Razer USB 4 Dock is a game-changer. I recently got my hands on this powerful docking station, and here’s why it’s become a crucial part of my setup. The standout feature for me has been the USB 4 connectivity. It offers a blazing-fast transfer rate of up to 40 Gbps, which has been a game-changer for my data-intensive tasks. Plus, it's backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 3.0 devices, so I didn’t have to worry about compatibility issues with older peripherals. The 14 ports available on this dock is like having a swiss army knife. I can now connect everything—external HDDs, displays, speakers, and more—through a single USB-C connection. No more struggling to find open ports or dealing with cable clutter. The ports are all clearly laid out, including HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, multiple USB-A and USB-C ports, and even a dedicated port for 2.4 GHz dongles (great for wireless peripherals). If your someone like me who loves multitasking, the dual-monitor support is perfect. The Razer USB 4 Dock allows for 4K 120 Hz output on my primary display while providing a smooth secondary display setup. Whether I’m gaming or working on several projects at once, the dock keeps everything flowing seamlessly. The included 180W adapter is a huge plus. I can charge my laptop with up to 100W while still powering other connected devices. It’s incredibly convenient when I need to be on the go and don’t want to worry about finding multiple chargers or outlets. No need to worry about compatibility here—whether you’re using a Windows PC, MacBook, iPad, or Chromebook, this dock works seamlessly with pretty much any device you throw at it. I’ve been using the Razer USB 4 Dock for a few weeks now, and it’s been a major upgrade to my workspace. Whether I’m working, gaming, or both, it handles everything I throw at it without breaking a sweat. The ultra-fast data transfer, multi-display support, and convenient power delivery make it well worth the investment. Plus, the 2-year warranty and reliable tech support from Razer ensure peace of mind. If you’re serious about upgrading your workspace for both productivity and gaming, the Razer USB 4 Dock is a solid choice that you won’t regret.

When it comes to laptop usage, there are many things that create a logistical nightmare when it comes to available ports and cable management. Enter the Razer - USB 4 Dock Station to help solve those problems and more. Razer has loaded this dock with 14 ports to help provide a solution for almost all your needs. That’s pretty impressive for a package that’s roughly 7.5” long, 3” wide, and just under an inch tall. For us, that was perfect because it slid right under our laptop stand to keep things hidden. As for the ports, you are talking about the ultimate utility tool of docks. If you can’t find what you need here, then you aren’t looking hard enough. You have MicroSD & SD card slots, a microphone headphone combo 3.5 mm jack, USB Type Cs, USB Type Bs, USB Type As, HDMI, DisplayPort, Ethernet port, and a dedicated USB for dongles. On top of that, you have enough power flowing through it that you can charge your laptop and phone while still keeping the productivity going. Unfortunately, we don’t have the space for running dual monitors, but having the HDMI and DisplayPort options allows you to do that. We are currently using the HDMI to a 28” monitor and there hasn’t been any degradation in the video quality. We were pleasantly surprised by that since it’s primarily used for gaming and watching videos. You can certainly tell that the USB 4 Type C is doing its job to carry the power from the laptop to the dock and back out again. If someone is just looking for a USB C connection for more ports, this is probably overkill for them. For the gamers and high productivity users, this hub is a dream. Throughout all of our gaming and video watching, we didn’t experience any issues. The temperature of the dock was fine. There weren’t any added noises like something is being stressed either. Since it is a Razer, I would have loved it if they added some RGB to this dock, but I can’t ding it for that. That’s a personal preference in the cosmetic area, and the performance of this little beauty is too good to ignore. I’m definitely happy to have it as a part of my setup now.

First impressions: Super well made, quality construction is evident as soon as you open the box and the docking station is featured front and center. Picking it up there's a definite heft that you don't normally get with standard docking stations. Probably the second thing that stands out is how svelte the station is aka most my other docks are vertical in order to hide how wide they are to include all the internal electronics needed for the connections. 180W adapter is hefty and it pushes out 100W of power to a laptop connection which covers most my non-gaming machines and even some of the lower end ones. Construction is very well done. Generally with these types of docks you get either a lot of play in the USB insertion or it's not perfectly aligned so you feel like you're grinding the metal casing as you insert it. Everything was super smooth with the Razer and the other super awesome item I love is that it has a full on ethernet port. Most current laptops have the drop down jaws for an ethernet cable and it always feels finicky. With this one, it's easy to leave the dock in place and hard wired which is a definite benefit in my book. Love the dual display setup just keep in mind the cabling necessary. Overall great little dock, easy to attach to the bottom of your desk for a clean setup, and seems to not become a small oven on my desk like other docks which is appreciated!

Finding a quality laptop dock, especially one that can handle 4K and support multiple monitors, is a challenge. Luckily, Razer continues to deliver some interesting products that tackle just this problem. I have a Dell 4K XPS laptop and often find myself struggling to get my hands on a quality dock with all the expansion I need. Razers’ newest offering checks all the boxes easily with its new 14 port USB 4 dock. The build quality is impressive, as expected. Constructed from aluminum, it feels beefy and premium. Not too surprising coming from Razer. There is a bit of plastic capping the ends but the unit but it doesn’t feel cheap. It does feel a little lighter than I would expect, but nothing too alarming. This dock has a refined finish and can easily blend smoothly with any professional or gaming setup. Razer loaded this up with all the ports, well 14 at least. Dual USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, dual USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, and a dedicated USB-A port. There's a USB-C port with 100W Power Delivery, adequate for most modern laptops not running a beefy GPU. You also get dual video outputs - HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4, gigabit Ethernet, SD and microSD card slots, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The dedicated power button is an interesting touch too. It allows you to control the flow of power to other devices when your laptop isn’t even connected! The 14 port Razer USB 4 Dock Station is one of the best. It delivers in terms of versatility, ease of use, and performance while still looking slick and stylish. The dock's high end build quality is combined with a great selection of ports and features that are practical for both productivity and gaming. Razer knocked it out of the park and this dock is a fantastic choice for anyone in the market for a quality USB C high speed dock.

My wife and I both have stationary desktops but we use laptops too. She has a nifty Lenovo ultralight and I use a Macbook Pro 16 along with a hefty gaming laptop. The idea was from time to time we both need to dock our laptops for use. It is infrequent enough that we rarely need to dock them at the same time so I decided to created an auxiliary computing station with a USB-C docking hub, dedicated display, keyboard, mouse and ethernet connection. We both also needed an SD card reader and a shared fast enough 2TB external storage device connected directly for various files. The Razer on paper seemed exactly what we needed. Our final configuration is a 32" BenQ 4k IPS display, EVGA Z20 Keyboard, Razer wired mouse that is all connected to a high speed 10Gb router that is then plugged into our cable modem. The Razer USB 4 Dock is using the newest USB standards which I love and is built solid and like a tank. It supports PD charging which is great for my Macbook and her Lenovo laptop which both support USB-C charging but not so great for my gaming laptop as it uses a large barrel connector and a 240w PSU. Fortunately, my gaming laptop has a USB-C port that supports everything but charging so I can use it when I want to game from it instead of my desktop at the docking setup. Looks wise, it really feels like the grey would fit right into any Apple setup aesthetically and pass ok in all others. One thing I really like is once you peel the bottom plastic off, you get a generous ring of rubber so the dock will not slide around even with cables plugged in and gently inserting an SD card or USB drive. First, the rear of the unit. It includes both HDMI (2.1) and DP (1.4) out and testing with both worked perfect. It had no problems supporting our 60hz 4k BenQ 32" display from either port. Ethernet connection was always near instant, and keyboard and mouse worked every time on all our devices. I had no problem transferring some SDcard photos. Docking was as simple as plugging it in. One thing I really liked versus a few other lesser priced docks is the Razer was able to keep my wife's laptop powered properly during usage. My daughter tried it with her Acer laptop and it too had no problems while in use. It also didn't heat up to concerning levels like a few other smaller docks I've tried nor did I lose any transfer speeds when trying to copy files across the dock from numerous devices at the same time which was fantastic. Never underestimate the absolute ease of just connecting a single cable to your laptop and having a full fledge station ready to go. If I had a few negatives, one would be the 1Gb ethernet port. While this is good for most high speed internet connections, copying files on your local network can get bogged down if you're used to a faster connection of 2.5Gb or greater. The 180w power supply is an aesthetic and ergonomic oddity. It doesn't go with the doc and it is pretty large with a thick cable. Lastly, when trying to use two displays with my Macbook for testing it doesn't seem to support that configuration properly and may require the Thunderbolt variant of this dock. I also had problems getting 120hz working on my Alienware 32" OLED with my Macbook. I did not have any of these problems with my Windows laptops. Luckily, I do not need two displays nor greater than 60hz day to day so that isn't a deal breaker. The only flat out caveat then is if you're a Macbook user who requires higher refresh and/or multiple displays, you might want to opt for a more proper Macbook Thunderbolt dock that can work better with display options. If all you need is a single display non high refresh, you're good to go. Overall, it is easy to recommend the Razer USB 4 Dock. Having tried several cheaper docks, you get what you pay for. No more flickering, overheating or transfer speed degradation. No more docks sliding all over the place when trying to plug things in. No more lost ethernet connections. It just simply gets the job done.

Verdict: I was really excited about getting this to clean up my desk setup. Unfortunately, the dock struggles significantly with my 48in 4k 120hz display, going black randomly several times a minute, and sometimes every 10 seconds. There are also weird screen glitches. Yes… it’s a big display, but the packaging advertises compatibility with 4k 120hz displays. I will keep the dock, but I will route my monitor directly to the computer DP port. First impressions. The dock is sleek and slim. I love the silver color. I appreciate the rubber pads at the bottom. I don’t need a power button... I don't think I will ever use it, but I am happy to have it. It has ample ports of different kinds (see specs). Setup. Essentially, setup is plug and play. The only thing to get right is the power connection and the white USB-C cable connected to the computer (USB-C Upstream). Plug anything else you need from there. Performance. The dock doesn’t not work well with my 48in 4k 120hz display. I am using a high-end gaming laptop with a good graphics card. Maybe it’s too much screen for the dock to handle. The monitor keeps going black and there are picture glitches. I tried two smaller monitors (2x 27in, not 4k) to test the dual display function, and those worked fine. Versatility. The doc definitely adds convenience and organization to my desk. I was able to reclaim a charging port and a plug adapter because the doc takes care of those two devices now. I was able to connect all my peripherals so that when I take my laptop, I only have to disconnect the power cable and the USB-C connection to the doc (and also the DP Port in the case of with my 48in monitor), a significant improvement from my previous setup where I was disconnecting every single port on the laptop. With the trend of laptops sliming-down port offering, this doc can offer a powerful solution for your home or work office. Plug everything into the doc and then just plug your computer. Things I love: - Sleek design - 14 ports!! - Fast connections - Dual display (as tested, works on non-4k 27in monitors) Things I don’t love: - Unfortunately, I could not get this to work on my 48in 4k 120hz display. The box says it supports 4k at 120hz, so beware if that’s what you have. Overall, this is a great doc if you have standard monitors. It offers a powerful solution for dual displays, cable management, and enhanced capabilities (fast ports, SD card, display, etc.). While this doesn’t work well with my monitor, I am still very satisfied with the rest of the doc performance. It has made my desk much tidier and my setup easier to disconnect.

The Razer 4 USB docking station is the perfect accessory for my HP OMEN Transcend laptop. Ever since I owned the laptop, I have struggled to find a good way to connect all my accessories to it. This includes a keyboard, external webcam, speakerphone, and DAC. I also wanted an ethernet port so I could have the best possible internet connection. The Razer 4 docking station makes it possible to connect all those accessories and more. The docking station really does allow you to connect all your accessories including multiple monitors. I am using a 49-inch ultrawide Samsung monitor with my laptop and with the docking station I am able to run my monitor via HDMI at 5120 x 1440 resolution at a 144 Hz refresh rate. The docking station comes with a 180 W power adapter, which can feed 100W into your laptop. This is key for me because the HP OMEN has a high-power requirement and is not happy if I supply it with anything lower. You can also use one of the front USBC ports to charge your phone at 20W. Overall, this is the perfect accessory for anyone like me who has a gaming laptop and wants an efficient way to connect all their devices. While it is possible to get a less expensive USB-C 4 docking station, I haven’t seen one that offers comparable features in the small form factor.

This is one of the best Docking Station that I have used. In my opinion it has everything that I need and a little more. Build quality is supreme. Made of aluminum, this is solid and sturdy. This does not move around and the little silicon strip at the bottom holds it in its place. This offers 14 ports and the positioning of the ports are well planned and are placed strategically. They are well apart from each other and doesn't block one another. The power in and input in ports which are more or less left as is once plugged in are at the back. The ones that are often plugged in and out are placed at the front. Good designing. A great feature of this dock is the 100W power output to the laptop that's connected. Often I got an underpowered wattage, but with this, that's problem solved. The USB C in the front also delivers power up to 85W to which I connect my phone or other devices to charge. 85W is enormous! This comes with a 180W charger to power the dock. There is a dedicated power button to turn on/off the dock. I like it as I like to power off all my gadgets at night. It only takes a couple of seconds to boot after power on. The dock even after prolonged use doesn’t heat up much. It’s a little bit warm, but no where near hot. There are 5 USB-A ports out of which 3 are high speed USB 3.1 and 1 is 2.0 and 1 at the side for 2.4GHz device. Through the high speed USB ports, the data transmission from external hard disc is super fast. There are 3 USB-C ports – 1 at the back to connect to the laptop which delivers up to 100W power. 2 more at the front to connect the devices. This delivers power as well as acts as input ports to charge the phone / transfer data, connect the webcam etc. This dock supports input to two monitors. One to be connected with HDMI cable and another through a display port. The only downside of this dock is that it does not support video through USB-C. It has to be through either HDMI or the Display port. This dock supports up to 120Hz 4K display. This has 2 slots 1 for each SD Card and mini-SD card. This also has a 3.5mm jack which supports mic as well. This has an ethernet port as well. Overall, this dock looks awesome and offers excellent performance. This is a well designed dock which satisfies almost everything. Best thing is, it comes at a much lower price compared to the other thunderbolt 4 docks offering same level of performance. This helps reduce the cables behind my office setup significantly. I am extremely happy with this dock and have no problems recommending it.

The Razer USB 4 Dock is a nice streamlined device to connect your devices and accessories with ease. You get a 14 port docking station and one simple ultra fast USB 4 connection to your machine. I've been using this with my various laptops and it works so well. Disconnect my work laptop from the connection and plug in my gaming laptop and I'm up and running instantly. I'm not having to swap out cables, peripherals, or accessories since the Razer Dock is ready to go. As expected with a Razer product, this works quite effectively. Ultra fast USB 4 connectivity as promised and lives up to it. This allows for high speed data transfer rates, display outputs, and device charging all at once. There are 14 ports, which allow for a plethora of connections. This also will allow for dual monitor support which I find ideal for work from home, casual usage, and gamer setups. This gives you the ability to still run 4K 120Hz on your main display, while still giving you the ability to use your secondary display for all your other multitasking needs. The 180W adapter that comes with the Razer Dock will allow for 100W of laptop charging while it will power your various other connected devices. I've been using it to charge my work phone, personal phone, headphones, and battery pack while I work. The all metal casing is nice and feels strong and durable to help with minimal heat buildup, but will say that this is a fingerprint magnet. I would have liked to see some RGB lighting on this just for a nice visual appeal, but it's not a dealbreaker. And the really good thing about this is that it works with Windows and Mac. I find this great for using when I need to be flexible at home with my work or gaming setup. I can easily unplug one input from my machine and walk away and come back and plug back into one port. I move around the house through my work day and like to come back and forth from my desk. The Razer USB 4 Dock fires up instantly when I plug in and I'm back up and running. This dock works very well and it doesn't take up a large footprint on my desk area. If you're looking to make use of a minimalistic look on your work or gaming desk, I highly recommend this sleek designed Razer USB 4 Dock.

Razer, long a maker of gaming PCs, peripherals, and even gaming chairs, has released a new USB 4 Dock to expand your laptop or handheld PC’s connections to a full size desktop space with a single cable, while promising high refresh rates to attached monitors. Is it worth your hard earned dollars? Lets take a look. In the box is the dock, the power supply, a power cable, a 3ft USB-C cable and some documentation. This is a pretty straightforward device, although the person who decided to use reflective silver ink on black documentation should reconsider their options; it’s hard to read unless you are in direct light. Setup is straightforward – plug it into your device’ s USB (Thunderbolt) 4 port and POOF, more ports! It also supports the older USB 3 standards, but doing so limits the max refresh speed and resolution as well as the performance of some of the expansion ports due to the limited bandwidth of USB 3 generation ports. It does support HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.4, with 4k @ 120hz on tap. It will go beyond 120 at lower resolutions, I’ve tested this at 120hz on a 4k display, as well as 165hz on a 1440p panel. It also has a 20W rated front USB-C port to charge another device like a phone, multiple USB A and C ports at various speeds, gigabit ethernet, SD and Micro SD slots, a 3.5mm jack for headphones, and one USB 2 port on the side designed for things like keyboard or controller dongles. I was not able to get variable refresh rates to work – this may be limitation of USB 4 or the device I’m using, an MSI Claw A1M handheld. The box itself is clean and understated although the black one is a bit of a fingerprint magnet. It’s very compact for the number of ports provided and is an all-metal housing. The same cannot be said for the comically large power brick. The included 180W power supply can provide your device with up to 100W of power through the USB port – enough for most handhelds and some low to mid-range gaming laptops, but not be able to fully power some high end gaming laptops, meaning you need two large power bricks (plus whatever your monitor has, which is likely, a 3rd huge power brick) to get your desk setup fully going. The brick itself is huge, and while a slightly smaller footprint than the dock, it is taller, so it has about the same volume as the dock itself. It also uses a barrel type connector, so you can’t use a more compact high output USB-C power supply to power the dock, you are pretty much stuck with this one. The size of this power brick, plus the 3-prong grounded power cord, really cuts into the portability of this setup. It seems to be more designed for being set up at your main desk and not moved much as the brick is just so bulky. Overall, if you want a clean looking dock to unleash the full potential of a USB 4 port on your device that doesn’t take up much space on your desk, you should take a look at this one. It has a premium feel and supports high resolutions and refresh rates. That said, the huge power brick means it isn’t going to be the most portable device on the planet. It’s excellent for handhelds, especially those that support USB 4 like the MSI Claw series and ROG Ally X, and for lower power draw laptops with integrated GPUs like those using Intel Ultra chipsets where the 100W power delivery is enough to fully power the device.

This docking station is great for replacing your old station. It's low profile and simple to use. Especially, if your monitors have only HDMI and Display port. I am not able to get 120hz for dual monitors setup. I read one of the review somewhere that mentioned in the manual it cannot do 120hz when connected dual monitors. It fine for me because I'm using it for work and personal use, no gaming. It has enought ports to connect the peripherals. Overall, I am satisfy with the purchase for work and personal use.

At under $300, i think this is the best usb docking station for office/gaming uses. Sleek black color, dedicated 2.4ghz usb port for keyboard/mouse. Whats not to love?

This item worked great. I was able to use it for my gaming laptop which doubles as my work laptop. This mean I have the need for many ports. The Dock Station turn my laptop into a "true" miniature desk top...without out cords running all over the place.

Works Great. I Have two computers hooked up to my monitors and I had a different Dock before this that would would never switch inputs right when I switched from my pc to the laptop on the dock. Drove me nutz. This one always works reliably. Highly recommend. So glad I got it. Does two 4k monitors just fine.

I have been using a Lenovo Dock for quite some time, but when I switched to a MacBook, it was fully compatible. This dock is and wow, the functionality is a million times better, lightning fast, and the resolution is precisely as if there were no dock. Lots of ports for everything you need!
