The best lightweight wired mouse you can buy I used this mouse for the longest time I still have it to this day just not my daily but it works so amazing especially if you are really into gaming and i really like that you can get 8k on it even though we aren't there yet for games but I personally recommend purchasing this mouse.

I have used Razer gaming mouse for the last 10 or so years. Just buying newer version. NOT a gamer here but love the ease of use, fit in my hand and small, laughable feature, it stays lit. Just a small part of loving it, I always know if it's working or if the computer holds its settings.

Worked well enough for a little under 2 years, but scroll wheel has already seemed to have worn down. Both rubber grips on the side have been rubbed down to the plastic. I've purchased three Razer mice over the past 10 years, and each one degrades faster than the last, so I think this will be my last unfortunately.

Overall a great mouse. I went from the deathadder essential to the viper 8k, and while you can notice a slight improvement upon input lag, and performance it’s not super significant. I like the overall feel of the deathadder more. Personally I have larger hands and it was a lot more comfortable to use. The buttons are also a little awkward to get used to in comparison. The biggest disappointment was finding out that 90% of video games won’t support an 8k polling rate. While it’s nice to have the option it causes extreme input lag while trying to use 8k. All and all I think you can get more bang for your buck elsewhere, but still a solid mouse just not the best option for me.

I dont like razer as a comapny but this mouse is fantastic. Software is not ideal. Middle mouse button is too touchy and found myself acctuating it unintentionally. Cord was not the greatest either. Might as well get the wireless. Everything else from the shape to the button clicks were flawless.

Main advertised feature of this mouse is the 8000hz polling rate. This is kind of a gimmick as it doesnt work in all games and doesnt really give you a huge advantage. A standard gaming mouse has a polling rate of 1000hz, meaning it has a 1ms delay. This 8000hz has a delay of 0.125ms. The difference between 1ms and 0.125ms is very very small. The cable sucks on this mouse compared to the old razer viper. A thicker cable was used for the 8000hz polling rate, which is unfortunate because the cable is really stiff and sucks. The shape of the mouse is fantastic and the clicks feel nice. Also has a light weight. Overall, besides the main selling point of the 8000hz polling rate, this mouse is very very solid.

Amazing sensor, great feel in the hand, and above average build quality! Plus 8k polling rate! The polling rate is a little over hyped but it does make a small difference. All in all, it is one of the best wired mice period!

I love this mouse, the only complaint I might have is that I wish it fit my hand better. My pinky sometimes drags when moving mouse and is uncomfortable (and I have small hands). Maybe make a new design with a pinky rest or an add on attachment to the current mouse, that’s a pinky rest? Other than that I couldn’t ask for more!! I want to eventually try this on my pc gaming rig when it’s finally completed.. but it works great on Xbox series x! (125-1,000hz polling rate recommended (I use 125-500hz) and so long as you set it up and program it on a pc/laptop with windows 10 FIRST, you can program macros and polling rate etc to the mouse that will be saved within the mouse itself and will work accordingly on the Xbox series x!! I’m assuming the same for ps5 as well?

I bought one of these on a splurge after my old Logitech died. I installed everything it insisted on, but finally had to purge its driver altogether and just use the default windows drivers. The software for this thing took almost 10 minutes to load on my windows machine at boot up. If I started a game (Elden Ring) before the software finished loading, the game would crash when the software did eventually load. Older games would freeze up occasionally when the software would try to prompt me to do a software upgrade in the middle of playing a game. Overall very poor software quality.

Wasnt totally convinced of 8k till i tried it and i have to say its mind blowing would recommend using 8khz with a 240hz to 360hz monitor though to really help spot the difference

Razer are top of the line in gaming peripherals, no doubt. I've had mouse and keyboards from them and always enjoyed it. They did the job and gave me competitive edge, while looking great as well. But the hardware would always go bad years down the line, such as double-clicking or not registering clicks. So far, this mouse has been great. I do notice rattling/loose mouse tips straight out the box. Not sure if that's how it's supposed to be, but that's my only complaint as of now. Design and performance is amazing. Only time will tell if it'll last the same as my previous Razer peripherals.

Great mouse. Buttons and scroll wheel feel solid. There's a gimmick in its design where it's supposedly ambidextrous, but I don't know anyone who wants to use a mouse with their left hand. All that it means is that the mouse is symmetrical: the shape and thumb buttons are mirrored. Unfortunately the pairs of side buttons (left and right) are linked together and cannot be independently programmed. Razer Synapse is a very helpful tool for mouse button programming, DPI, and RGB lights. All in all, my purchase was worth it.

I had been using a Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed that I loved and when I read the reviews for the Viper 8k, I had to try one for myself. I absolutely love the Viper 8k. It's comfortable to hold and has been the most responsive mouse I've ever owned. Adding a mouse bungee isn't necessary but I highly recommend it. My Basilisk has been a paperweight ever since.
