It's Even Better Than I Imagined

This mouse is incredible and it is an absolute pleasure to use. I'm going to be saying favorite a lot in this review. So, I apologize in advanced. But there are just certain products that absolutely nail it and this is one of those. CLICKS: It comes with their Gen 3 optical switches. Which are my favorite optical switches to date. They are incredibly crisp and consistent with mild pre/post travel with strong spring back force. But they are also very loud and have minimal side wobble. Personally, they are some of my favorite primary clicks I've ever tried. Side buttons are also ideal. Great placement and again are some of the best I've felt by being very crisp with mild pre/post travel. SCROLL WHEEL: The scroll wheel on this is ideal for me. It is is light yet stiff. Has very dedicated steps. middle click requires light pressure, is incredibly crisp, and easily spammable. It is also extremely accurate. It does have some rubber on it with little bumps for grip. When I'm using other mice I miss this scroll wheel and everything else just feels gross to me now. WEIGHT: I've argued that 60 grams is ideal for most people. Personally, I like even light (such as the Starlight 12) but this actually feels better than that because it is PERFECTLY balanced. Build quality is also solid where it feels well put together but I do have some mild creaking on my unit if I squeeze hard enough or in the right places. Which is to be expected. When shaking I get no rattle. TEXTURE: I'm a big fan of their new texture. It is mildly bumpy and I find if I have very dry hands it is quite slick. But if my hands are slightly moist it grips really well. But if my hands are damp then it still sticks semi-well, better than if super dry, but not as good as slightly moist. I also find that this gives me more control as I'm able to shift the mouse with my fingertips to be in the ideal position for that granular aim. Probably the best coating I've felt from Razer and up there with some of the best I've tried (top 5 maybe). SENSOR/PERFORMANCE: It has the best tech of any mouse on the market by some margin. The Focus Pro sensor makes the Focus+ look bad which is incredible. Seeing as that sensor blew my mind. Easily surpasses any other mouse on the market. My aim is incredibly precise now and I've never done better. In fact I broke all my records in AimLabs upon first using this guy. The wireless is also excellent and can be upgraded to 4,000 Hz with a sold separate dongle. Latency between clicks is super low. And it just feels like it is attached to my brain as it is incredibly responsive all the time. PTFE: Again, some of the best that I've seen on a stock mouse. Incredibly smooth with almost no drag. They are quite thick too. I love them. BATTERY LIFE: They claim 80 hours of constant motion. I don't know what it actually is in real life. All I know is that I almost never charge this guy despite using it all the time. I think I've charged it three times since I bought it. The only cons that I can really think of is that the shape is going to be polarizing and very hit or miss with people. It is very flat so it works best for fingertip/claw and poorly for palm. It isn't my favorite shape but due to everything else I perform exceedingly well with it. Also, when compared to the Viper Ultimate some users will think it is a "downgrade" as you are losing features such as RGB, charging dock, right side buttons, rubber sides, and probably some other stuff I can't think of off the top of my head. To me this is a huge "upgrade" as I'll take the improvements of this mouse and never think about my Viper Ultimate again except for how it was great while it lasted. Price is also high. But when you are buying the best of the best you pay a premium price point for it. This is the second best mouse on the market (with the first spot going to the Deathadder V3 Pro). The specs are so far ahead of anything else on the market that you pay a bit more for that. But there is a reason why this stays on my desk and those other mice don't.

    Almost Perfect

What Makes It Excellent Ultralight Build & Precision • At just 58 g, it’s featherweight—which makes hand movements effortless during long gaming or productivity sessions . • Equipped with Razer’s Focus Pro 30K optical sensor and Gen 3 optical switches, it offers pro-level tracking and click reliability, rated for up to 90 million clicks . Stellar Battery Life • Razer advertises “up to 80 hours,” and independent reviews confirm about 70–80 hours of solid usage. TechPowerUp even suggests likely closer to 100 hours in normal use . • In real-world play, users report going weeks between charges . Minimalist & Comfortable • It offers a clean, understated design—no RGB, no extra frills—yet plenty of Synapse software support for button remaps, DPI, polling rates, power settings, and surface calibration . • Comfortable for long hours, whether it’s FPS slaying or spreadsheet grinding . ⸻ ⚠️ The Scroll-Wheel Catastrophe Alas, there’s a catch—and it’s a big one for anyone who relies on the scroll wheel regularly. Erratic Scrolling Many users report the wheel stutters, jumps, or scrolls backward mid-scroll. One Reddit user said: “whenever i scroll wheel up or down it will then go and the opposite direction… happens all the time” Another notes it “scrolls up when scrolling down mid scroll” . Temporary Fix Only The makeshift remedy—pressing down hard and spinning the wheel—works briefly, but it’s not reliable . Disabling the encoder entirely because it “infinitely scrolls” is reported by users who got fed up . Razer’s Recommended Fixes… Well… Razer support suggests firmware updates and driver reloads as quick fixes, but the problem persists for many users . For the daring (and technically inclined), some sidestep by replacing the encoder by disassembly and soldering, though that’s far from ideal . ⸻ Final Take: Amazing Overall – Except When Scrolling The Highlights • Professional-grade feel: Ultra-light, accurate, responsive—great for competitive and general use. • Battery beasts: Truly delivers long life between charges thanks to excellent efficiency and software control. • Solid build & software: No double-click issues, easy customization through Synapse, and great materials. The Deal-Breaker • Scroll wheel is unreliable. • It randomly jumps direction or stutters mid-scroll—sometimes severely enough to disrupt gaming or browsing. • Temporary fixes exist, but they don’t last. Razer reps provide software updates, but the underlying hardware seems flawed. Who Should Buy Ideal for gamers or professionals who rarely use the scroll wheel (e.g., FPS players who primarily use buttons or switch weapons via keys). Battery lovers and minimalists will enjoy its design and endurance. Who Should Pause If your daily workflow depends on reliable scrolling—web browsing, coding, document editing—this mouse might drive you up the wall. That scroll-wheel bug could repeatedly steal focus, mess up your documents, or worse, cost you a clutch moment in-game. ⸻ Bottom line: The Razer Viper V2 Pro is a technical marvel—light, fast, and battery-savvy—but marred by a scroll-wheel flaw that often overshadows its brilliance. If you’re laser-focused on performance and can live without smooth scrolling, it’s still a killer pick. But if dependable wheel performance matters, you might want to look at alternatives like Logitech’s Pro X Superlight 2 or Fnatic x Lamzu Maya 8K.

Absolutely love the way it feels. This mouse is very comfortable in my hand. Love how it can have textured rubber grips attached to it. The mouse is very responsive. The battery does last for a very long time.

Long battery life, love the option to change mouse speed on bottom button of the mouse. Side buttons are useful in games for shortcuts. Comes with m3 grip tape.

This is a really light mouse, weighs 59g and probably the best mouse for the price. I came from a Razer Basilik v3 wired. Wireless is better for me in my opinion since I dislike any wire for my set up, it charges fast and it has up to 80 hour battery life. It fits my hand perfectly as well since I have smaller to medium hands. I paired it with the Razer Fire fly v2 and I think it’s the perfect combo.

I bought the white version of this mouse. Honestly I come from using a starlight 12, so I didn’t buy this for the weight reduction. The sensor on this mouse is phenomenal, and tracking on my glass mousepad is very smooth. The optical switches are fast, but IMo they do not feel as good as kailhs or even omrons. Optical switches have a slight mushy feeling although razer did try their best to make the clicks feel as “mechanical” as possible. I’d recommend this mouse for any FPS or anyone rockin a hard pad (glass or ceramic). It comes with an excellent sensor, has low click latency, and is lightweight.

The lightweight gaming mouse I recently tried exceeded my expectations. Its featherweight design, coupled with precise tracking, made it a dream for fast-paced gaming. What I am bummed about is that it doesn’t come with any RGB lighting, although the battery life is amazing, and the responsive buttons delivered a satisfying click. This mouse strikes the perfect balance between performance and comfort, making it a must-have for gamers seeking an edge in competitive play.

I love this thing. It is so light I kind of forget its in jy hand at times. Also it does have a little bit of a texture to it so when your hands get a little sweaty you dont really slip. I still wish it had some RGB like the ultimate did, but I know thats how they got it so light. Also if you want a little more range on your slide, look up some ceramic feet on amazon.

Extremely satisfied with the Razer Viper Pro 2, The mouse is extremely lightweight. I upgraded from the DeathAdder 2 (wired). So this was a big upgrade going wireless. Almost seemed too light as soon as I picked it up for the first time. I do FPS games like Halo Infinite. Only con I have is that the white color picks up dirt or grime easily within the texture of the body. And my hand wash game is on point! And I still manage to start accumulating slight coloration where my fingers rub. Overall, the Razer Viper Pro 2 is a fantastic gaming mouse that delivers the speed, accuracy, and control that gamers need to take their gaming to the next level. With its optical switches, customizable buttons, and ergonomic design, the Viper Pro 2 is the perfect choice for serious gamers who demand the best in terms of performance and comfort.

Best sensor on a top tier mouse. Use this with the 4K dongle on a LG C2... awesome! I have a lot of different mice used for FPS games and this one plus the Superlight 2 are my best mice. You will not go wrong with this mouse. Pic has original grips and aftermarket skates.

I moved from the highly capable Logitech Pro X Superlight 2 just because it doesn't have a dedicated DPI switching button like this Viper V2 Pro. In terms of weight the Superlight 2 is 10g lower than Viper V2 Pro but that 10g is barely noticeable and i feel like Viper V2 Pro has a more beefy clicks to it so I don't get accidental clicks like I used to get on the Superlight 2. All in all I'm happy with the changes and loving this white color of the Viper. Also, I already have the Razer apps installed so getting this new mouse installed was a breeze. And the Razer Synapse app on the PC is a very friendly and easy to use app to set up your 4/5 DPI profiles however you want for later DPI switching as per your need in-game
