First off, the picture quality truly is much better than cable, that statement needs to be repeated, the picture quality truly is much better than cable. Once you buy and get this antenna home all you do is plug in the power cord that's attached to the antenna into a power outlet and screw in the cable wire that is also attached to the antenna into your T.V. You are then done hooking up your amplified antenna to you T.V. Now just go into your T.V. Settings then into your Antenna settings and choose the appropriate box, you then scan for digital signals (TV channels) and your done. For those of us that remember the good old days of rabbit ears and free TV you will be smiling and amazed you honest to goodness do not need to pay for a cable subscription to watch television anymore. I pulled in about 67 channels, of those 15 Spanish channels 5 Asian Chanel's 3 Arabic Chanel's a couple European channels 3 Classic TV channels to see old western cowboy movies, Hogans Heros, the Dick VanDyke show and the like not to mention about 5 music channels a few channels such as 2,4,7,9 and 11 have HD and none HD sub channels but the HD channels need to be seen to be believed

Worked Right Out of the Box!

I honestly believe that the picture quality is going to depend where you live, and where you place this antenna. I love in Los Angeles, on the 2nd story of a 2 story apartment building near downtown. I hooked this to my 52" Samsung TV, plugged it in and put it on the window sill. Extended the rabbit ear antennas, turned on the amp and then did an auto scan with my TV. It found 149 HD channels! And they all work! Local stations like CBS, NBC, KTLA, ABC, KCAL, FOX, KCOP are all clear and crisp! Heck, overall quality for me was better than DirecTV!!! I'm VERY satisfied with this antenna. But again, for me, Its placed at the window sill 20 feet off the ground. So, I'm sure your quality or what you pick up is really going to depend on where the antenna is placed. If you live in the basement, I don't know what you'll get. My only complaint is that the coax cord is a little short. It's probably 6 foot, but my TV is about 10 feet away from the window sill. So I'll need a coax extension. Other than that, this is a great antenna. I was hesitant at first but figured I'd give it a shot. Super happy, 149 channels later, goodbye forever DirecTV! Between this, Hulu and my AppleTV, I'm set. Definitely recommend, if you have a good place to put it. I'm including a picture from ABC that I took with my iPhone of the picture quality.

The antenna was easy to use and connect to my tv so I purchased a second one too since I am not a cable subscriber. After doing the channel searching, I was able to obtain 30+ additional channels with a clear picture. This was a very good buy.

I've been using this antenna for two months and it has worked well. Set up was very easy although I have to have it in front of a window to receive all of the 22 available channels in my area. I also bought one for a basement TV and that one will need a longer coax to reach an upstairs window. It currently receives 3 channels.

We cut the cord from cable but still wanted some basic over the air channels. We live in a bigger city and our house does not have big buildings around it so this antenna works great. We're able to get all the major networks and several smaller over the air channels. However, if you need an antenna like this one, do some research as to where you live and from how far the signal is coming. Depending on that, you may need a more powerful antenna. This one is powered so does well for me and brings in a crystal clear signal. For some channels I need to adjust the antenna a bit but I can't complain as I'm getting network broadcasts in 1080p signal (for those networks that broadcast that high).

This antenna picked up stations very well but only if it sat in the middle of my living room. Not very convenient. I liked the ease of use and the quality of the picture. I wish I could have placed it elsewhere and still have it work for me. It was so easy to set up and connect. Plus I liked the look of it. I have too many trees and other hinderances to having an antenna indoors so I had to opt for mounting one outside the house. But if I could've used this one indoors I would have preferred that.

I cancelled my cable because the prices were getting too high. A friend suggested getting an antenna & this one works without having to plug it into a socket thereby saving on electricity as well. I get the basic channels & public TV but for the one time price of $10- it's definitely much better than paying $100+ for cable. I don't watch all those other channels anyway.

This is a replacement of same model which I had used for at least a couple of years, so they don't last forever. I do get about a dozen channels, though not all at the same time. Picture is absolutely great, installation is simple & obviously made for dummies. I have one on a tv upstairs, another one on a tv on main floor, seldom receive all the same channels with both antennas. Despite any shortcomings, it is very good value. Was thrilled to dispose of cable.

I currently have three of these units in use that I have purchased over the past three plus years. This purchase was for a relative who finally took my advice after trying several more expensive units three times the cost of this one. They went from receiving 27 digital channels to 42 digital channels after for going cable on a seldom watched tv unit. In my case, I get 47 digital channels. This antenna is my only source of input so I am extremely happy with that. The one time cost of the antenna is well worth the price verses a monthly cable bill. These antennas are extremely easy to use. Plug antenna cord into antenna jack on tv, plug transformer into an electrical outlet, turn power on and adjust antenna. Amplified antennas do require electricity to operate. Individual results vary based upon many factors such as location to tv stations and placement of antenna. I have noticed that the higher you place the antenna unit the better the results. However, placement is limited to the length of the two cords. Also, placing the antenna closer to windows helps reception. I was also told, it's a common misconception to open the antenna arms as wide and as long as possible. The goal is actually to receive the signal with the arms length and width as small as possible for a more direct signal. In my experiences, I do get a better picture this way.

This works well and is easy to install. I wish I knew if the stronger one would work better or is it just my tv area. I looked at the box in the store but there was not alot of information about distance and power. The size is good and it is easy to put multiple places if your reception will allow it. I would buy the more powerful one if you are in doubt. Some days this does not work well if it is stormy, very windy or rainy.

I never bother to get cable because I dont want to sit in front of TV, day & night, to watch cable to get my money's worth. Happy with over-the-air reception using this antenna. Pick up Fox, ABC, CBS, NBC & independent stations. Bought it in April & felt price was high. Noticed it is on sale now at almost half the cost. My previous RCA antenna, sku 8280834, had problem picking up ABC & NBC sometime. With this antenna, sku 8280843 - no problem! So buy this (sku 8280843), instead of the cheaper RCA antenna (8280834).

Very easy setup- 'plug-n-play'. We live within 20 miles of most towers and this antenna gets excellent HD quality picture(based on network broadcast). Does not get all channels at once, so switching back and forth does get tiresome, but for $25- well worth it.

I hooked this antenna to a set in my garage to view local OTA channels. Most of them have great digital reception. There are a couple that wont come in at all though. If I adjust the antenna, they come in, but the signal strength is so weak that its not stable. Overall it does what I expected. Just wish it was a little stronger.

I've been pleased overall with this antenna. It's extremely simple to set up, just take it out of the box and then connect it to your TV after extending the analog antennas and plugging in the power cord. I hoped this antenna would be a strong performer, but have only been marginally pleased. I live 30 miles from a metro area, but after initially scanning and enjoying channels I've had some not be received anymore. All the primary networks are received clearly though, so I've been pleased in that regard. When setting up the antenna be sure to direct the flat black side towards the city/broadcast antenna closest to you for best reception. Its not a large antenna so don't expect wonders, but it works!

I live many miles from the broadcast towers for the major networks (and even the minor ones). A previously purchased unamplified antenna did a poor job in retrieving these signals, resulting in few available channels and some pixelation in the ones I did receive. This amplified antenna increased the number of available channels three-fold. You'd be surprised how many 'free' DTV stations are broadcasting out there. From sporting events (in HD, BTW) to movie channels, this unit brings them in with surprising clarity. Feel free to drop your expensive cable bill and invest in something that works.

I purchased this antenna as a temporary solution after I moved to a new place. It found all the major networks and some other local programming channels. The picture was very sharp, but small appliances interfered with reception. You also have to adjust the antenna when changing channels to get the best signals. It served its purpose, but I would be happy with it for a permanent antenna.

Good replacement for over-priced Comcast Cable TV

With cable prices skyrocketing, and with no end in sight, I wanted to get a good, if not great alternative to pricey cable TV, and decided to go with an Indoor antenna. I went with a non-powered model from RCA, which was similar to the one sold on TV infomercial, which wasn't AC powered, though. Needless to say, that particular model failed to get hardly any channels, as it got only about 10 over-the-air stations, and not very well, either. I returned that ineffective model to Best Buy, and got another RCA unit, but this particular unit was with Rabbit Ears and is AC powered. I am glad that I did, because this Rabbit-Ear AC powered version is clearly better, as it picks up ALL the local over-the-air stations, and I now get about 22 stations, which most of them are HD, and they come in very well, despite me living in a mountainous area with many trees to block the signal. For the many and price, this Rabbit-Ears AC-powered version from RCA, is substantially better than the non-AC version, and best of all, my reception is really good, and I do NOT have to pay for Comcast Cable any longer! If you are looking for a means to get RID of Comcast and their exorbitantly high prices, horrific customer service, and analog reception, then this is the best way to go.

The price of Direct TV got too expensive so I went with an antenna system which get all the local channels quit well. Once in awhile the signal still breaks up, but less than Direct TV did. For the money, this is a good antenna.
