this was the last antenae that I purchaed, after trying several others. A powered antenae will give you more stations to pull in and this one is powered. It really depends on where you live and how far you are away from stations as to the type you might select. There are alot of options out there. This one worked the best for me.

This antenna is easy to assemble and use. Although it comes with an attached amplifier for improving reception, I'm not sure that the amp really does much. When you use this unit, you have to keep adjusting the two "stick" antennas, pointing them in different directions to get different stations. The amplifier is not strong enough to solve the issue of stations coming in clearly for a few minutes (or even seconds) and then going black, fading in and out. Its worth the $29.99 + tax, but if you are not close to the signal source, or face obstructions like I do, it won't solve the problems completely.

I have been using my RCA Antenna for a few months now, and really like it and the savings I have from not having cable! I have partnered the antenna with Roku. The reception is fantastic, I only have had to adjust it from time to time when I change channels. But other than that, it is consistent and clear!!

I bought this item because the associate said it was their best selling antenna and also they see the least returns on this one. It works great! For under $30 it's a great buy. Simple set up and now I have plenty of local channels.

Within two days of purchase one of the antenna arms broke off a couple of slides from the top. It hadn't been handled roughly or hit....basically just snapped when moving it into position. Very disappointing but overall it still works as expected for receiving channels. Just handle the scoping antennas very gently, they are extremely fragile.

Did not want to pay cable for a tv in a spare room so got this and it picked up about 20 free channels. Good channels and even a couple cartoon ones for when grandkids are here. Love it and glad we bought it!

Antenna does everything it is supposed to, and I like the amplify button for times we are getting shotty reception. Rabbit ears extend far for channels that are harder to receive. We dumped cable due to prices and got a Roku and this. So far, don't miss cable a bit!

I bought this to use with my old Sony analog until we decide what we want to do regarding a new TV and satellite or cable connections. It is effective about 98% of the time. I have it near a window but when someone is walking around on the level above me in my house it may drop the signal. All in all it was worth the money.

This antenna works great! At first I was having problems w/pixilating channels, then I read that it works best 3ft AWAY from the tv. Now only 2 channels pixilate (both PBS). I am happy w/this choice because I save lots of money by not having cable. I still get to see sports, popular tv shows and big event specials like CMA, Oscars and Tony awards because I get the 3 major networks Fox and 26 other stations/channels. I even get Telemundo and 2 more Spanish only stations! Background info on why I got an antenna.... I recently moved and I could only transfer part of my "bundle" service because the company didn't have connections in the area. I thought how stupid to have 2 different cable providers in my home, plus spending more money to set up new service...well after a couple of weeks w/o cable tv we didn't die and we didn't miss it much. Lol. A family member suggested I get a tv antennae (that's what they use and I never noticed!). This one was recommended to me and I recommend to my friends and co-workers who complain about the high cost of cable tv. Easy to set-up too! I rated 4 stars but changed to 5 because certain things are expected like pixallating (this isn't a hook up to a satellite) oh and channel surfing in one direction only....meaning if you hit the back or down channel button it may not go back to the channel you just left, if you remember the # just type it in and hit enter on your remote. There is no station guide I miss that. But the info button on my remote (which camebw/the tv by the way) works! So when I don't know what show is playing I can use that remote feature. The $188 I save in cable fees I can now use to got to live events/concert, add more to my savings acct, and go out to movies ! I highly recommend getting this particular brand antenna (i tried another brand and it didn't work no matter where we put it).

I prefer this over the flat plate antennas as this one actually works. I get a number of channels that isn't just picked up by my TV. I would recommended that you get this if you don't have cable.

I have a large antenna in the attic but wanted more channels. I purchased this inexpensive antenna and when I ran a channel scan I picked up more channels than I was picking up on the attic antenna. I have two of these now and am very pleased with both.

This product is perfect for people who want to kick the cable but still want to watch free basic network tv stations. For $50 you get a plug and play antenna that picks up the major network stations (fox, cbs, nbc, abc, etc.) and displays them in HD. Sunday football looks exactly the same using this antenna as it did when I had cable. In the Washington, DC area you you can also view about 20 other channels including PBS, BBC, and Ion. Not all channels are viewable in HD and the weather and proximity of the antenna to a window makes a huge difference in the tv reception. Still, for a $50 buy in you can save hundreds a year not paying for cable and still get basic television (including national sporting events in HD).

This is my second purchase of this antenna. First one 2 years old and works better than my friends outside unit. Bought this new one for a new TV in the bedroom, works like the first one. ABC is a weak signal here but not a problem with this antenna.

I decided to cut my cable and use local TV signals. Works pretty good, but numerous trees around my house made the signal fade in and out. I have another one on a TV upstairs and further away from the tree and the signal is better. Works better than the flat antenna you see advertised on TV & other media

This has worked extremely well for us. We live near a major metropolitan area and at a high elevation, so that may help. However, we get more than 30 channels, including major networks and local stations. Very clear HD signals.

We decided to cut the cable cord, but I still like to watch the local news, so we picked up an antenna similar to the one we used before the digital conversion. The HD picture is great, as clear as it was with cable. We have 2 large windows facing north and east and the tv sits in the corner between them. We get all channels but 13 by putting the antenna directly in the east facing window with the ears angled towards the window. To get 13, we have to move it to the north facing window. It doesn't work in our basement where the tv is on the west side of the house. If your family watches a lot of tv, I would go with the roof mounted multi-directional antenna.
