This is a great mic that is simple to use. It is made for natural sound, not interviews, but it does the trick. When using it in a crowded room I captured clear directional sound. The only drawback is there is a little bit of noise if your subject is very far away, but overall a great mic for a beginner!

Awesome mic that is super easy to use. I hook it up to my Sony A7ii and it makes the sound quality so much clearer for interview purposes, and even shooting short films. I'd definitely recommend this one.

This is a good product for the cost and for the consumer class. It is not going to cut it for professional applications, but still much better than the native mic on any camera

Picks up sound really nice. Easy to use with cellphones if you have the right adapter and portable. This mic works great for me and does what i need it to do.

The quality of this microphone is incredible. I have even used it to record songs for my YouTube Channel (Lidia Alumbaugh). It is great for an unplugged performance on the go.

Although not a condenser mic it is way better then the built in audio in my camera . The sound quality and the wind blocking both improved and I now have more usable audio without the need to run external mics which saves me a lot of time and post work.

I use this attached to my SONY FDR-AX33 for promotional filming. Nice that it uses the power from the camera. This is the second RODE mic I have purchased. A very good value for the money. Great sound recording ability.

At first the device seem a little weak to mr, but turns out its very durable and I would never record video without. Quality is crisp and strong 5×5. Don't leave home without it!

This mic is great as long as your camera does not need a powered microphone. Some DSLR cameras or other recording devices need the mic to be powered. In that case you would want to get the $150 version of this which requires a battery. For me the biggest convenience of this camera is the fact that it doesn't need a battery and that's one less battery I have to worry about with my gear. I'm already constantly charging and buying disposable batteries and the fact that this simply is plug & play is great!

Huge difference in catching sound. Internal mic doesn’t even come close. It’s a must have as a beginner mic if shooting videos.

This shotgun microphone works great in any situation, and is very easy to setup. I would recommend playing around with the settings on your camera to avoid over modulation.

I was a bit skeptical on how this would improve my overall video sound and production. The moment I compared it to my in camera mic I was all smiles. Very clear sound where directed and minimum if any background pick up.

Manages to pick up 5.1 sound it seems like although i dont know if thats an actual feature of this microphone, but i love this mic over the default camera mic. would not recommend recording videos without it! great Value!

I purchased my rode mic to go with my new canon mirror less camera. I studied the reviews and chose this one based off of other people's experiences with various brands and have been very happy with my purchase, excellent mic at a excellent price.

If you're looking to vlog a mic is a must and this works out perfectly!

I do a lot of random interviews in different locations and this mic has been a workhorse. I use it for majority of my camera work when I need better audio recordings. Definitely recommend to any others looking to have better audio.

Bought this to replace a cheap chinese microphone. Quite the massive upgrade to say the least. No matter what project you have at hand, Rode Mics are reliable and will get the job done.
