Works well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picks up sound good. If you can adjust you volume on your camera do so. Inside in a small room a person talking normally is really loud on playback. Also if you are videoing someone it does sometimes pick up the sound of you breathing. wind is very pronounced also so maybe one of the wind furs would be a great addition if you video outside a lot. But way better the. The one thing that worries me is the mount seems like something I could easily break. Which I seem to be good at. Other the. That I like it and use it all the time. Really like the fact it does not need batteries.

Must adjust Camera Settings to Avoid Hissing Sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this microphone for my Canon EOS M50, but I didn't realize that there was a hissing sound while in use. I did some research and found out that to avoid the hissing sound, I had to change my camera sound settings to MANUAL, and then lower the dB levels inside my camera. I believe the hissing sound appears to only happen in quieter environments because the microphone is trying to pick up sound. To prevent that, lowering the dB levels within the camera will prevent any hissing sounds. I adjusted my dB levels a little less than the 25% mark, and so far it has been working. Some YouTubers actually lower the dB levels all the way down to 0. Having your camera's Wi-Fi on also affects the microphone; I suggest you have that OFF while using the microphone. Having this priced at $100 is not worth it, unless you can price match it to a lower price in which I was able to do. I recommend to save and get the VideoMic Pro instead - many YouTubers use that and I have heard better reviews than this one.

Excellent basic shotgun mic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this mic to use on our Panasonic G7 for filming videos. It's well made, affordable, works perfectly, dead simple to use, needs only camera power, and comes with a windscreen and a cable. And surprise, these Rode mics are made in Australia! NOT China, where nearly everything else is made! Nothing against the Chinese, this was just a pleasant surprise.

Upgrades Audio Quality
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A friend of mine suggested that I look into purchasing a microphone for my Canon Rebel t3i so that my audio quality sounds better. This mic does the trick. Very good purchase. Vocals are warm and thick. The value supersedes the retail price. Glad I added this to my microphone collection.
