Decent microphone for recording, not the best, but good quality for close distant recording. Don't be more than about 3 to 4 feet away to get the best quality.

I used this item to record a presentation for my speech class. It worked well you can't hear the excess noise in the background that you would typically hear when recording.

The mic works well, and has a better sound than the mic in my camera. It will also work off camera if its stand is close. I don't pick up any camera noise

Haven't owned this product too long to write a full long review, but I am definitely satisfied with my purchase. I would recommend the two-years of Geek Squad for $20, this is an expensive product definitely feels nice to know its insured.

This mic is great as long as you're not farther than 20 feet away. It definitely drowns out some of the back ground noise boosting your video sound quality. Though it doesn't tell you which end of the cord to put where. Definitely experiment to make sure you're getting audio on your video before you do a full scene.

Sound is smooth as butter in a well insulated perfect condition room, it can get a bit tinny for my taste so it needs editing and the wire seems to have an issue staying snug in my sony a6300 any slight jostling or move and the wire has to be pressed back in to avoid a horrible feedback. I'm not a mic guy this is my first mic. Recording in a small office room with hard wood the echo was awful after setting up a blanket attached to the wall and a area rug the echo disapeared, then in editing I reduced treble as it sll hit the ear a little tinny.

Onboard mic on canons are terrible. This Rode mic simply slides into and mounts to the flash slot. It can also be moved elsewhere thanks to flexible cable. Sound quality is good, especially if subject is within 5 ft.

I just go this to add sound to a few videos for work. I'm new to this so its possible that I missed a setting somewhere in setup. The interference with this is intense. Again I have to point out that I'm a novice so there could be something I missed in setup. I'm doing this review to inform other consumers of my experience and (hopefully) get a response that has a resolution. Thank you for your time.

Its a good mic to just pick up random sound but not the best to pick up everything. I would recommend a lavalier if theres an interview and maybe the rode for backup and ambient sound.

This microphone works great as an upgrade to any built-in microphone. It is very durable and doesn’t need batteries to use. I added a 10 foot extension to the original wire for versatility and it works great. Highly recommended.

I returned the smaller video micro because I felt the sound quality was lacking a bit. I purchased the video-mic go and the sound quality sounds so much better & I don’t get some of that hissing in the audio. I would recommend getting this.

This one did not hook up to my Cannon DSLR so I returned it but the sound was good. I wish I checked to make sure it would secure to the camera
