Great quality mic but should have the availability to change recording settings. You aren’t able to use mic on a mobile device unless you have an adapter that is sold separately.

Not the best sounding mic out there but it does a great job for its price point. The added benefit of not battery is excellent in my opinion and makes this an easy shotgun mic to work with. Picks up sound really well but can get a bit overdone when things get too loud.

This is a small mic you can add to your cameras that captures very good audio. I am using this on a Sony a6400 but you can use any camera with a microphone jack. It records great audio for the price.

I was pleasantly surprised by the petite, light addition to my Canon 80D and M5. The highly portable Rodeo VideoMicro is a perfect addition for those venturing into video creation without an elaborate set-up. It is enjoyable and easy to use on both of my cameras

There is a short list of things to be considered to decide if any piece of equipment is the right tool for you. If you are hyper critical about sound quality then this mic isn't for you, but then again what do you expect for the price. I paid ten times as much for my Sennheiser mic but I got this mic for good reasons, it's very cheap and really small and light. The sound quality is better than the camera's mic and it cleaner because it has an isolating mount. If I'm doing something important I'll have someone holding a boom with my Sennheiser on the end or I'll mic the actor with a lav hooked up to a transmitter but for run and grab shots this is just great and is small enough to not be in the way.

I've tried SO much inexpensive audio equipment over the last couple years trying to find something decent for my small budget. Problem solved! The sound is a mile better than the popular Vidpro XM-55 or SGC-598 so if your considering those do yourself a favor and get this instead. It's also far simpler than using a TASCAM DR-60DmkII or post syncing with my TASCAM DR-40.
Just plug it in and get great audio.
It's camera powered - No forgetting to turn on the mic or running out of battery. That's s huge plus right there.

The sound quality using this mic is so much better than what you can get just using the internal microphone it’s amazing. I would highly recommend.

Overall it's a great microphone for the price. Because it runs off the battery, there tends to be some extra white noise created by the microphone. It also tends to pick up on frequencies in certain atmospheres that can't always be heard by the naked ear. I would recommend doing a sound check in a given location before relying on the mic for the given project.

This mic is awesome! I have used it for filming interviews with my Sony a6400 camera. The sound was amazing. previously I have been using small field recorders and lav mics and then syncing the audio to the video in post, but that is slow going. I still use a second sound recorder for backup audio just in case there is something that goes wrong with the audio. The sound quality is just amazing. I was truly surprised by just how good this thing sounds. I would recommend this mic to anyone wanting a very small passively powered mic.

I bought this to use shoot 4K video with my iPhone 8Plus and X. The audio as you may have heard or read is excellent. It’s easy, compact and portable. Using the Rode SC7 is a must when recording with iPhones. What’s also great about this is unit is that I am able to use it with any camcorder or other cameras with a 3.5mm input.
If you’re in the market for an external mic to use in conjunction with an iPhone than I highly suggest purchasing the RODE VideoMicro. There are many other options that you can do including mics with lightning adapters built in; but this is more flexible with a standard 3.5mm jack.
The audio is excellent when compared to just using the built in mics on the phone or camera. For the price it is really a great purchase!

Little mix works great and picks up sound better than stock camera mics. Smaller than a lot of the other shotgun mics out there, but works just as good. Cheaper too! Really happy with the purchase!!

This little thing saved my Osmo 4K from being trashed. The sound on the Osmo 4K is HORRID. It picks up the sound of the gimbal fan and movement. Really is unacceptable by DJI. I'd give that a poor review if it was still being offered.
Anyhow, back to this little gem. I didn't like having to pay something to make the DJI useable, but I won't hold that against Rode. This mic helps to reduce most of the DJI's whizzing sound. You can still hear it in very quiet scenes, but otherwise it does its job well. Since it also comes with a hotshoe mount, I also use it with my A7RIII to boost the sound there too. With it's portable size and price, it's a winner.

Quality is good and like how it doesn't need 9v batteries...it's lightweight, easy to pack and bang for its buck. The other mics of its kind are expensive so this is a good alternative

A SUPERB SMALL MIC!

When you think of good things coming in small packages, this RODE VideoMicro full fits the definition! I wanted an affordable and solid small mic to set on the hot shoe of my Canon M50 to record audio for my YouTube videos. I tested the camera's audio first and after I used the RODE, the difference was highly noticeable. So much so, that when I create videos for my channel in the future, my VideoMicro will attached to my camera where it belongs! It only runs around $60 - if you vlog or create videos while sitting, this mic is a great choice!

Loved the mic - Just not the wind shield

I love this mic, however I did not like the Wind shield that came with it. I am a Vlogger and use the Sony ZV 1 camera, and unfortunately the windshield got in the way of the camera lens frequently. I could see this Mic being a perfect fit for someone using a camera with an interchangeable lens feature. The bigger the lens, the shield will not get in the way. I would have loved to only replace the windshield with a smaller one to fit my needs however that was difficult to find at Best Buy. Which caused me to have to return the mic all together. Other than that it is a very good mic.
