I bought this to use in addition to the original battery that came with the camera and it is great.

This battery comes at a fairly expensive price tag because it is the authentic one used by Canon and is the one that comes with your DSLR when you purchase it. I was recording a 2 hour nonstop video where my old battery was shot and didn't last the whole shoot so we needed a back up battery to replace it without having to go charge it. This battery ended up lasting longer than the original battery I had which I have abused. It's definitely worth the extra bucks to have a battery that isn't cheap and won't run out on you.

Wanted something that would give me the flexibility to keep taking pictures when I wasn't able to recharge the battery I had. Have run into this problem more than once.

Purchased on sale, but would have purchased anyway versus "after market" brands. Canon batteries have proven to be more reliable than after market batteries.

This is a back-up battery - I have not had to use it just yet but it is very easy to install. My sales person recommended it due to an upcoming planned vacation.

I have used second grade batteries in the past and have had bad luck. I would reccommend to anyone that owns a Canon camera to use geniune canon batteries.

The Canon LP-E8 Battery I purchased is a very good one in that it lasts a very long time on a charge, and many pictures can be taken with it. I bought this as a spare for my Canon Rebel T3i EOS. Best Buy sold this to me at a very good price under the price match program they offer. I was very pleased with the battery and the ease of use and how many pictures that I can take on a single charge.

This battery has been an excellent addition to my camera bag. I often take pictures at sporting events and am shooting a large volume of images in a short amount of time and constantly refocusing, which isn't always super battery friendly. Plus who always remembers to charge their battery? It holds a great charge and is an excellent quality battery.

When you need a second battery, you gotta go with the OEM battery. I won't leave my camera or pictures up to a aftermarket power source.

I had purchased an "off" brand battery since it was less money than the Canon battery. Ended up disposing of it in less than a year because it wouldn't keep a charge. Should have spent the extra money in the first place and bought the Canon one. I use this as a 2nd battery, and the original Canon one that came with my camera is still going strong with no problems!

I love my Canon T3i!! I would recommend taking a class at a Community College to get to know your camera better.

Had a difficult time finding an original battery pack at several retail stores. Luckily BestBuy happened to have one for sale, worked perfectly and can’t wait to start shooting photos again!

Replacement rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery Pack works just fine

I use this with my EOS T5i and it works like a dream- Charges quickly and the charges last for a long time. I shot an entire weekend at a Dance Competition and 1 battery lasted through over 5000 photos and a lot of routine recording. No issues with this at all.

OEM Battery is the way to go. Aftermarket ones just don't hold the same charge.

It was very import that I have a backup battery on my recent trip to Europe. I didn't want to miss any photos due to may camera running out of power. I easily recharged both of my batteries in the evening and was ready to shoot all and any photos the next day.

Excellent battery to have for my DSLR camera. No problems charging it up to full and stays charged for quite a long time when not using or stored in camera.

Don't bother buying the cheap imitation that may or may not last .I was out of town for nascar race and I took hundreds of pictures and not once did I have to charge up the battery.
