I just started playing this game, so it is difficult to determine if I would give it more or less stars than what I have. That being said, the graphics are great and the action is almost constant.

Controls (hand held) are hard to use. Need a guide book to play.

This game has a great story and animation. It can be difficult to learn to play since I am a casual gamer.

Rockstar does not disappoint with their story telling! Combat can be a little repetitive and some of the challenges are difficult to do, but there is so much depth here you could spend hours just exploring. Great game!

Though some would say this is a top notch game, I think you have to really like the genre to get into it. The game mechanics were intuitive, but seemed a little more complicated than I'd have preferred. Since it had an extra data disk, I know it's a HUGE game with a lot of playtime, but after about an hour of play I realized I'dn't keep my interest for 2 straight months of play. Still, graphics were top notch.

This game is way to involved and the game play is kinda clunky. I shouldn't have to brush my horse to preserve its stamina and if someone attacks you and you kill them you shouldn't have a bounty. This game is overly complicated and you will loose interest after the first time you play it. If you want an rpg Buy Witcher 3 and of you want to brush your imaginary horse then buy the sims or my little pony

This game is incredible with it's depth and level of detail. It's so easy to get sidetracked and explore in this game. I only played single player. Controls can be a little difficult to learn and you will accidentally hit the wrong combination from time to time.

This game is so detailed it take awhile to even really get a feel for how to really play it. You have to eat regularly, change clothes for different climates, take care of your horse, including brushing it. The graphics are truly incredible. My only complaint is the way you change weapons and store your supplies is clunky and difficult to navigate. Hopefully this gets resolved in an update.

Visually, maybe the greatest game ever. The world building is also some of the best (if not THE best) ever seen in a game. That being said, the controls are not very intuitive and some aspects of the game can be rather tedious (the long distances one must travel for missions). Even taking that into account, it is hard to not give the game a 5/5. The story and world are 'can't miss' experiences.

The single player portion of this game is great! It has a ton of interactions with the NPC's and Rockstar did a great job at making those interactions fresh. As for the multi player it has a lot to be desired.... There isnt a ton of things to do and it seems a bit stale, but GTA Online was horrible when it first released in 2013, and with all the updates it turned out to be one of the best multiplayer experience in console history. @@@@@@@@ In my opinion) It just seems that Red Dead will struggle to reach that echelon as it will be a bit more difficult to add to this game with the time period it represents. I did give this a 5 star rating despite the flaws of the multiplayer, because of how well done the single player is, and in my opinion this game should be played with that in mind.

Had this game pre-ordered for almost a year. Loved playing RDR. RDR2 is a pretty awesome game and worth the money paid for sure. Only thing I'm not too pleased with is the numerous items in several categories. One in particular that I'm not a fan of is all the tonics. Way too many kinds for both the player and the horse and just makes it difficult and time consuming to select or figure out what to select based on your need. Perhaps after playing for several hours, which this game has a lot to do, it won't be such a big deal, but starting out it's kind of over kill for no apparent added benefit to playing the game.

I recommend you read non critic reviews of this game. It's very slow and does little to entice you to keep playing. Visually it is beautiful and it is clear the developers took time to make this a really in depth experience. However, it feels like you are doing chores too often and hardly having fun. The control scheme is awful: movement feels very clunky and difficult to manage especially while riding a horse. It's easy to accidentally hit people and have the law sent after you. Looking for items or information across the menus is a nightmare, and further slows down an already slow game. I give the game 3 stars for the graphics and atmosphere but take two away due to the lack of fun and pace. I would not buy this until it is much cheaper.

I haven't finished RD2 and likely won't for many, many months so my review isn't for the game as a whole. Overall, so far, RD2 is amazing. Not so much as a "game" but more as an experience. An interactive deep and interesting story unfolding all around you. Unlike most games, this is designed from the ground up to pull you into the world of Red Dead and yup live it. That means they're isn't always action. There isn't always things to force you to keep moving in a specific direction. Yes, be you can continue the story as you want but you can also live hundreds of other stories along the way, at your own pace, as you want. And even just slow down and enjoy the beautiful world you're in. Go fishing, hunt or just explore. Not many games have you show down your pace and get lost in a world like this. There are no flashing icons to tell you to hurry up to the next check point or quest. No timers. You just enter areas/towns/camps and become part of the stories as it's happening. It's honestly a bit difficult to explain but it's incredible to get lost in. This game might not be the right choice for those with ADD or those that need constant action and tasks in a non-stop way though.
