This game is really good but I get a little impatient at times because its a western so the pace seems slow.

If you enjoy Grand Theft Auto, you'll definitely love this game too. Just keep in mind the pace of the game slows WAY down in comparison.

Amazing graphics but the pacing is frustrating. Disappointing considering the hype. Good game but not the masterpiece that critics hyped.

This game has amazing storytelling and gameplay. It has a very slow pace deliberately for realism. Would recommend watching gameplay online before buying to make sure pace of game isn't too slow.

Overall this is a great game. Compelling story, tons of things to do and side track apart from the campaign. Although at times the pace may feel slow due to the lack of speed in gang camps.

Only good thing about this game is the graphics. The gameplay and pacing is just terrible. Lost interest only a couple hours in.

The immensity of detail in this game is unlike any other. From the graphics, story, score and sound design, this game makes you feel like you are back in 1899. The gameplay pace is slower than most open world games these days but it is justifiable in RDR2 as it truly aids to the immersion and overall experience.

Pacing of story felt sluggish, and the "real life" mechanics such as having to eat food and cleaning your gun feel extremely intrusive, making it a joyless slog to play. through. On top of this, since this game is a prequel, you know what is going to happen, so there is no sense of surprise. Just stick with the first game for a streamlined experience.

Between the action sets the pacing is slow. That's a GOOD thing as the storytelling and care put into the game shines through. If you're looking for nonstop train robbing action go somewhere else. If you're patient enough for an amazing story stick around and enjoy.

The game is visually stunning and not at all fun. Coming off the heels of God of War and Spider-Man (both perfect 10's in my book) Red Dead seems like an upscaled port of a last generation game. The controls were sluggish and the pacing deliberately slow in a bad way. Just not for me.

Great game and a technical marvel. The pace is slow and deliberate, a departure from most games. Note: the HDR does not work (well noted online). Turn it off for a better picture

You can see Rockstars amazing attention to detail, from the very first second. Extremely detailed and pleasant world to get your rootin tootin on. Very nice story. Games pace may not be for everyone. But if you enjoyed the previous game, you will love this one.

I bought this game for my grandson for Christmas. It is an action adventure game set in the Wild West, back at the very end of the 19th century. It involves a group of outlaws on the run following a job that went bad with an emphasis on day-to-day survival. The visual effects are absolutely amazing, such as all the fine detail from the grass blades to the snow on the mountains. The resolution is so realistic as well. This is a slower paced game than he usually plays and I'm sure he will be playing it hours on end!!

You can tell quickly why rockstar pushed the release date so many times. This is quite the polished gem that takes you on an experience that is typical of Rockstar to offer. This is in fact a western version of GTA 5. The pace of the game is a little slow in my opinion, but that is done for a reason. The game is designed this way to almost connect you with the pace of the time period. Very impressed.

There is a price that comes with such a highly interactive game: a learning curve. It takes a while to get into the rhythms of "Red Dead Redemption II." The hints - and, more importantly, the momentum - are thin in the early going. The pace is slow, deliberate, methodical. Yet as you move deeper into this world, it takes you over, consumes you, until you find yourself thinking about the game even when you aren't playing it. It's a great ride - literally and figuratively.

I've been waiting for Red dead's sequel since it was released, and I was excited about it. I'm still enjoying, it's just one of those games where I like it, but don't hate it. My issues with seems to come with all the micro managing things you have to do within the game, the story itself while good it's pacing is a bit slow. There'll be times you get bored waiting for something to happen and it doesn't. I give it to rockstar, they really did put their time into it and it shows. Visually it's stunning and amazing. I still am currently playing it in time I may change my mind on the pacing, but for now it stays the same. I don't regret my purchase one bit.

OK, I get it, the game has a very slow start. It's hard to appreciate the deliberate pace coming from God of War, Spider-Man and Assassin's Creed. In fact, by the end of Chapter 1 and the beginning of Chapter 2 I came very close to returning the game altogether. I came within minutes of dozing off, controller in hand. HOWEVER, I am SO glad I stuck with it. When the world became overwhelming I did a bit of research (Google lol) and got through soem not well-explained aspects of the game, but the main and side quests are exciting, suspenseful and so diverse. I never felt like it was too repetitive. I also found myself enjoying doing things outside of the main missions like riding around on my trusty steed, hunting, robbing random folks sitting next to campfires, throwing people off carriages and holding trains hostage. The world is your oyster here! Moral of the story? Throw your morals out the window :) Have some fun, don't get too overwhelmed, don't be afraid to explore and break some in-game "rules" and see what's waiting for you!

First the game looks amazing! Characters are great. There's tons of missions and side missions to do. Huge open world. My only problem is the pacing of this game. It feels too slow. And sometimes controlling the character feels sluggish too. It's like the game is forcing you to slow down. That's my only problem and so far not taking the first place for my favorite game of 2018. But it's still a great game.

Fun Game Only After A Very Long Opening

First off the Negatives: This game does not play like classic Rockstar games (GTA V). The game is very drawn out and everything you seems to take forever to complete. When you ride to town or to a mission location on your horse, it may take 10-15 of sitting there doing nothing but watching the screen. @@@@@@@@ Boring) Not everything is explained in the game and Fast Travel is not opened up until you upgrade your camp. The Controls are very clunky and some options are hidden in your pop up wheel and take up to 3 button holds to open up something. Looting a body takes 3 seconds at least, not terrible but when you have to go through 20 dead bodies, it seems forever. All the other aspects of the game (hunting, fishing, upgrades, and mini-games) seem added on and are not really necessary to complete the game. Another thing I didn't care for was that you have to maintain your personal hygiene (shave & bathe), clean your guns, and care for your horse (brush and wash it). This game feels like a cowboy simulator at times. The Positives: Beautiful graphics. Interaction between npc's is usually fun (hold down L2 on PS4) to interact. The missions are the usual Rockstar variety. Exploring caves for hidden gold bars was fun. Deadeye remains in the game and is always a pleasure to mow down enemies. Overall: This is a fun game but will test your patience. It's pace is very slow and some may not like that. Chapter 1 of 6 is about an hour and a half long and is the most boring intro to any video game I have ever played. If you can get past Chapter 1 the game really establishes itself and the fun begins. 8/10
