Quite different from GTA. Nice gameplay, mixes in lotta of narrative driven gameplay. Love the graphics and the story driven gameplay.

She loves the online version, I don't think she has started the campaign. I am quite the opposite. I love the campaign and haven't dabbled too much in the online play. If you live westerns and just want to run around being an outlaw this is for you.

All the random interactions and story pieces that people rave about are great but the gameplay doesn't live up. Rockstar were more interested in creating a great story and believable world than an amazing gameplay experience. The gameplay isn't bad, but it's not great either and I've found plenty of small annoyances to counter act a lot of the small gems that get posted about online. I'd still recommend the game but with the understanding that it's not the perfect game that it seems to touted as.

Read dead redemption is awesome! Out with the car, in with the horses. Now we're talking! I can just ride along the roads for hours, skinning animals and finding citizens in distress without ever feeling bored.I’ve never felt so immersed in a game before.

I just really wanted this game so much. I am so glad that I have it now!! I didn't knew that it was 2 discs in one that you need to use but I didn't mind it at all. I love this game and I love my horsey and my horsey loves me :D

By far, this is the game of the year. Yes... I've played God of War... Yes.. I've played Spiderman.. Yes.. I've played Super Smash Ultimate. Still.. this is the game of the year. No other game has nearly as many customizable options than this game. I mean, you can even choose whether or not he takes BATHS! Come on! lol Seriously though, 10/10 reviews on most sites. This is the game of the year. The only gripe I have is that with the ONLINE play.. its a money grab. You basically have to PAY for Gold bars to upgrade stuff that you need to win. Its just as bad as NBA 2k19 in that area. But online is basically a completely different game. The CORE game is awesome. 5 stars.

“Red Dead Redemption is one of the best games I’ve ever played. The story is emotional and unforgettable, and the open world is packed with detail—you can hunt, explore, or just ride across the beautiful landscapes. The graphics and sound are top-notch. Missions can be long at times, but overall this is an amazing experience I highly recommend.”

This is basically grand theft auto Wild West style. You can follow the story mode or you can venture off into the world to hunt or do side missions and there is multiplayer in this game as well. I don’t think you can get bored of this game

Honestly probably the best video game I've ever played. The level of detail in this game is incredible. Moving around the map can become tedious but they want you to live in the game and there's enough detail that you can do that.

A little slow to start with, but after you understand with the environment, mechanism and all the little side stories, you learn how much development and effort were put into this game. Definitely one of the best game of the year.

The original Red Dead Redemption was a masterpiece that captured the style of classic western films while serving up a fun amount of action-filled gameplay, all told through a powerful and emotional journey of its key protagonist, John Marston.
RDR2 dials back the clock 12 years, to long before John embarked on a quest to save his family. Arthur Morgan takes the lead this time around, in the final days of the Dutch Van Der Linde gang as they struggle to find their place in a world that seeks the end of all outlaws.
The gunplay is as solid as the original Redemption, now boasting a wider selection of weapons, all with extensive customization options that allow for both greater firepower, as well as giving players a personal touch to their arsenal. Additionally, RPG elements allow for Morgan to grow stronger and become a better gunslinger, with a variety of options that can boost the player's skills to new heights.
Hunting also returns, and is far more fleshed out than it was in the original RDR. With nearly 200 kinds of animals to hunt and kill with your extensive collection of weapons, collecting pelts and other animal parts offers all the thrills of real-life hunting without any of the risk or harm to actual animals. Furthermore, the numerous upgrades that can be unlocked by claiming intact pelts will entice many players to spend hours in the virtual wilderness.
RDR2 still suffers from some of the technical hiccups that plagued its predecessor, such as glitches and touchy controls. Thankfully, there are many options to tailor one's experience and make the game more manageable. Regardless, the masterfully-written story and solid gameplay will surely consume many a player's time for weeks to come.

The world is beautiful and gritty, taming a wild horse while there's a thunderstorm is spectacular and fighting a bear with a knife is a rush. The characters were only ever going to be as developed as the staff at Rockstar. A grown man seeking redemption only at death's door grew up to late.

Plain and simple - RDR2 is one of the most intricately built open world currently. Does this mean it’s the best, or the most fun? Well, that mostly depends on your preference in games. Though this one seems to be splitting the most hardcore of gamers. For me, this brand of immersive storytelling mixed with absolute freedom to find the most obscure scenarios - R* style. Yes, this game is a bit slow to start, with chapter one being mainly a tutorial, then chapter two opening up the world to the freedoms of exploration. (I found a house of corpses, a death cult of sorts, in my first hour roaming the open world. The activities are plentiful and deep in their systems, which is also drenched in realism behind the motivations. These certain programmed actions and systems are seemingly what is splitting the crowd. Some wishing this was more chaotic and action driven like GTA, but instead is more paced and steeped in absolute atmosphere. Truly putting you in the trials and tribulations of the old west. But that’s not to say the action isn’t abundant, there is still plenty of set pieces full of fun. My only gripe in gameplay is the old RDR mechanics, just slightly tweaked. Learning the laws of the layout was something that took a moment to perfect, but smooth once things get going. While I’ve mentioned this game may not be for everyone, mostly due to pacing and style of mechanics behind the immersion, I would highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a great open world experience. Just expect to play through the paces of exploring the old west - well, a bit more than just the west this time around.
