Bass is meant to be felt, not heard

I honestly didn’t know bass could sound this good. The REL S/510 is on a whole different level—it doesn’t just rumble, it breathes. Every subtle nuance and micro-detail in the low end is delivered with such precision that I can actually feel the textures of the music, not just hear them. It’s powerful without being overwhelming, tight without being clinical, and blends seamlessly into my system. What surprised me most is how much it elevated everything else I listen to. My wife, who’s usually pretty indifferent to audio gear, turned to me during a track we’ve both heard countless times and said, “Wow… I’ve never noticed that before.” We’ve both been blown away by how this sub reveals the hidden layers in our favorite songs. If you’re on the fence—don’t be. The S/510 is an absolute game-changer, and easily the best upgrade I’ve made to my system.

One of the best sub for music listening. Purchased one before and now this to make a stereo pair. Expensive when compared to others but to me it’s worth the investment.

I upgraded from a Martin Logan Dynamo 800x. While the Martin Logans were good, they were just like any other sub. These S510s are simply on the next level. Bass is fast, tight, I am hearing notes i didnt hear before with my previous subs.

    Rel S/510 review

Excellent subwoofer. Very well built and aesthetically pleasing. The addition of this subwoofer greatly improved the musicality of my system and I can now hear intricate musical details that were previously absent. Tuning takes a bit of effort and patience. Best to wait until the subwoofer is broken in before putting the final touches to the tuning. Rel recommends placing it in a corner but I found that the bass produced in this position was a bit too boomy. Against a wall to the inside of one speaker worked well for me. Rel also recommends using track 4 of the soundtrack recording Sneakers for the tuning. This worked to some extent but finer tuning was needed using multiple tracks. Several tracks I would recommend are come together by the Beatles, burning down the house by Talking Heads and you can call me Al by Paul Simon. When you get close to the final settings one small tweak can make a big difference in sound quality. Overall I am really happy with this subwoofer. I have it in a 400+ sq ft room and the power level is appropriate but it is probably too much for smaller rooms

I have a pair of Theil CS3.6 speakers. Pushing 27 years. Tweets and mids were rebuilt. I love these speakers but needed some bottom end for the large room they are in. I reached out directly to REL and was advised to try the S/510. HIT THE SWEET SPOT. No regrets on this purchase. Highly recommended.

Surprised Best Buy sells a product of this calibre - most of theur offers are mid to low level when it comes to hifi amd home theater. This REL is an amazing instrument that instantly adds depth and a floor to your system when properly set up (took 5 minutes or about 3 tries for me to get it right). You get what you pay for, and sometimes a little more. This sub is beyond compare at this price point based on my experience (I use it mostly for music). Wow.

I have Focal Kanta 3 speakers and spents months of research to make sure I hit the .ark. I learned the difference between subwoofers and knew I need great sql bass that was fast enough for my speakers. This rel sub enhances music perfectly. Perfect for my system.
