Percell at the Crabtree Valley location is THE BEST! I recently purchased the reMarkable tablet from Best Buy, and I can confidently say—it lives up to its name. I wanted a device that would help me stay focused, take notes more intentionally, and reduce screen time, and this delivers all that and more. The writing experience feels incredibly natural—almost like pen on paper—and it’s perfect for everything from brainstorming ideas to marking up PDFs. What I love most is how it encourages deep work. No distractions, no notifications—just me and my thoughts. The sleek design, seamless syncing, and long battery life make it an essential tool in my daily routine. Whether I’m working on real estate deals or journaling at night, this device has elevated how I organize my mind and my work. Huge thanks to Best Buy for making the shopping process so easy. The staff were knowledgeable and helped me find the perfect accessories, too. Highly recommend for anyone craving a minimalist yet powerful digital companion!

The reMarkable Paper Pro tablet is unique, in that it’s not what most of us think of when you think of a tablet. The reMarkable Pro does not have a LCD or other similar types of screen, but has a color “e-ink” display that uses a side light, completely differently than traditional tablets. It’s not like a monitor – more like digital ink on a slab that feels a little bit like paper when you write on it with an included stylus pencil. E-ink displays use tons of what are called “microcapsules” of white and black (and now, some color) in a liquid that change when a short electrical burst goes through the screen, to form images, shapes, etc. They don’t use constant battery power like a regular tablet. They just briefly flash, display text or an image, and don’t use more power until you make changes to what’s on the display again. For this reason, they are best suited for things like reading books, drawing, writing, but not good for viewing videos or web pages, where they’ll stutter and be sluggish. So the reMarkable Pro’s screen is 11.8 inches and has a resolution of 2160 x 1620 pixels. This works out to about 229 ppi (pixels per inch) – not very high compared to a regular tablet, but slightly higher than the standard 150 ppi of many other color e-ink displays. The screen has a texture on it that when you write on it with the included pen which reMarkable calls a “Marker Plus” (but I’ll refer to it as the Pen), feels, somewhat, like you’re writing on paper. My big (well no, huge) complaint is that the side light on the Paper Pro is very VERY dim, even at full brightness. Now again, you can’t expect this type of display to come close to a normal LCD or AMOLED display, but even compared to other e-ink devices, this one is very dim, making it (for me) very difficult to use in lower light conditions. In good light and especially in a brightly lit area or outdoors, the reflective display works great – it’s like you’re working on paper. But indoors in dimmer conditions, it’s just very poor. A menu will let you choose a larger variety of types of writing instruments with the pen, like a pencil, marker, highlighter, shader, technical pen, and more. Three thicknesses are available, along with a few colors you can choose to write or draw with (black, gray, white, blue, red, green, yellow, cyan, and magenta). Of note though is that these are muted colors, not vibrant. A variety of menus will let you select areas around handwritten text so you can convert it to typed text, or you can use a built-in keyboard to type notes if you prefer. Unfortunately, there’s no real choices for many different fonts or a variety of font sizes – just very small or larger, bold or not, or italicized, basically. From scratch, you can create a simple quick sheet to write some quick notes on, create a notebook to sketch with or write longer projects with, and create folders to keep things organized. You can freelance on a blank screen or there are a few lined pages you can choose from depending on your needs. The Paper Pro is primarily designed for writing or doodling ideas, but you can side load PDFs and certain other documents, books, or even comics via the app that you can download to your phone or desktop computer, or through a Chrome or Microsoft extension. So essentially, you can import and export documents to and from the tablet or email them, but of note, there is a monthly subscription fee of around $3.00 per month to use the app – and without this, you will be limited to only being able to store documents in the included 64 gigs of memory on the table itself. There is no memory card slot for expansion, and mine had about 46 gigs of usable storage space, presumably because the OS takes up some of it. I am not keen on having to pay monthly for an app to get full functionality, especially considering the rather steep overall price of the tablet itself. I’m not sure college students or those on a budget will appreciate this. The Marker (pen) attaches to the right side of the Paper Pro magnetically to charge and recharge. It doesn’t take long once the table itself is charged up via the USB-C port on the bottom, which in itself does take a bit. But due to the nature of e-ink displays, once charged, you’ll get quite a bit of use out of it before it needs charging again. The pen comes with some replacement tips/nibs, and the other end of it acts like a virtual eraser if you rub it over something you want to erase. I do like the pen, as it’s comfortable to use. Of note, when you use the colors, there will be a momentary flicker as each color is registered on the screen. This is normal, and knowing how e-ink works, this does not bother me, though for some it might seem like an irritation. When flipping through pages there is also a flicker. This is just the nature of e-ink as it is now. The colors are again, also very muted. You can blend them (a bit) by overlapping, depending on the writing instrument you choose in the menu. You can highlight text in various colors (handy). And you can do simple limited-color drawings. Color e-ink is still somewhat in it’s infancy, and the Paper Pro handles it very well, considering this (other than again, the backlight, so colors look better in brightly lit conditions). So, in some ways l like the reMarkable Paper Pro. It’s very solid and extremely well built. It has a nice large, color, e-ink display. The pen feels good when using it on the screen, and it has good battery life. However, the laughably dim screen light makes it so hard to use in dimmer conditions, and having to pay a monthly fee in order to be able to share and save your documents off-device is a hefty price to pay considering the steeper price of the table itself. Add on an optional keyboard case for typing or their official portfolio case, and you’re investing quite a bit of money for a limited-use device. I would recommend this for people who really, REALLY need a dedicated writing e-ink style tablet for business or private case-specific uses like that. But as a general quick note taking device, you can do the same with a regular tablet and writing or drawing app. So in general I cannot recommend the Paper Pro for the masses – just a specific niche audience.

Awesome for taking notes and keeping myself organized. I used to go through tons of paper to keep notes and they would get scattered, list, damaged, whatever... Now I can keep everything I need in one place without having to search. I do wish the colors were better but that's just a small gripe, I usually just write in black anyway. The fel of the tablet is great and the battery life is awesome. Rather expensive but worth it for the time savings and organization possibilities it offers me. Highly recommended

    Helped Organize a Messy Situation

I've had the reMarkable Paper Pro 11.8" for about 3 weeks now. What I like about I about it is the way it writes just like a 'pen/pencil and paper'. You can lightly rest your hand on the tablet and write like a regular pad of paper. I say lightly because it recently started to 'flutter' if you pressed slightly on the tablet while writing. It's also easy to create different notebooks in files. I use it for work and personal, so it's very simple to keep them separate. It's light weight, and I was able to find a pretty decent and durable cover on Amazon that secures the pen in place when traveling with it. The battery is ok. It depends on how often you use it and how long you have the 'sleep' mode on for. I have it set for 20 minutes, so I get about 4 days before I have to charge it. It comes with a USB C charging cord only, no plug. I use my computer to charge it and it takes about 2 hours to get a full charge. When going from file to file or notebook to notebook, it almost looks 'sloppy'. Meaning it's not a smooth transition from page to page or file to file. Doesn't affect anything, just annoying. This is the only reason why I didn't give it a 5 star rating. The one downfall, if you want the option to convert your writing into a font/type written, or email your page/file, you have to pay for it. There are different packages to choose from starting at $2.99 per month. For me, my job requires me to document everything in all different categories. I had multiple notebooks with multiple sections. Complete mess. Sticky notes everywhere. This has helped me organize in just 3 weeks, I can only imagine what it is going to do for me in 3 months.

RMPP - The Best Solution For Digitizing Notes

Having always been a pen and paper note taker (hate typing notes), I've been trying every possible solution to handwrite notes and digitize them. I was an iPad and Apple Pencil user with a screen protector for a while but it just wasn't a good experience. I ended up an RM2 person for a while and that has the very best writing experience there is. But, no backlight an the screen was just a little too small. Enter the RMPP. A different experience (it's better than the iPad screen protector and far, far better than straight up iPad glass), larger screen, backlight and color! I absolutely love it and can't recommend enough. It's a different writing experience, but another one that is inline with handwriting on paper, maybe closer to a ballpoint pen where the RM2 is more like writing with a pencil on paper, both pleasurable. Yes, it's expensive, so if you can live without a backlight, colors and smaller screen, go with the RM2.

Setup and connection to the reMarkable phone (Android) and PC apps was quick and easy. I used my Google login, and everything just automatically connected across devices. My wife spent some time with the reMarkable Paper Pro, and she immediately took to its size, look, and interface. Making new Notebooks and Folders is easy, and she is excited about the ability to attend a meeting, make as many notes as she wants, and have everything organized and easily retrievable. Thumbnails of multi-page documents makes it easy to jump to the desired page. She was wowed by the natural feel of writing on the surface and the variety of writing implements available in software. Even writing with a "pencil" is visually convincing. I do a lot of proofreading and marking up documents. It's not unusual to have hundreds of pages per week. My hope with the reMarkable Paper Pro is to stop the supplies consumption (paper, toner, felt-tip pens, electricity) and the wear and tear on my office equipment. I had every belief that the reMarkable Paper Pro will be the answer to that prayer; at this point, reality has set in. The best I can say is, "We'll see." I usually stand over my desk and read documents laid on the desktop. The reMarkable Paper Pro display is difficult to read when laid flat on a table. It lacks the necessary brightness/contrast to overcome glare from overhead office lighting, regardless of backlight setting. The glare problem improves while holding the reMarkable Paper Pro as I can angle it to reduce visible reflection. The detail of text and graphics is good. The contrast is probably my biggest complaint; if the "white" page was a more stark white, as opposed to its off-white/grayish hue, black text would really pop off the page. If I'm being honest, the screen backlight really doesn't add anything unless I'm working in a near-dark room. When exporting a file from reMarkable back to my PC, the PC app does not remember the last location I saved to; rather, it defaults to Personal\Desktop. I have to manually redirect the save each time. Colors as displayed on the reMarkable Paper Pro are very muted and difficult to distinguish. Even red notes against a black-and-white text document are hard to discern. Thankfully, when displayed on my computer monitor, colors in notes and highlighting are as expected. Still, it's a little disappointing that colors on device are not more vibrant. Whether the reMarkable Paper Pro fits your use scenario is going to depend. As I said, my wife loves it and took to it like a duck to water. For my use? The jury's still out. It's definitely worth a look.

I’ve been using the Remarkable Paper Pro for a few weeks now, and overall, I’m really impressed! The writing experience feels incredibly close to paper—smooth, responsive, and satisfying, whether I’m sketching or taking notes. The screen is highly responsive, and the stylus feels just right in my hand, which makes long sessions feel comfortable. The tablet itself is lightweight and sleek, and I love the fact that it's designed to minimize distractions by keeping things simple, with no apps or notifications to interrupt my flow. The ability to easily organize notes, sketches, and documents is also a big plus. That said, I’ve knocked off one star because the syncing process between devices can be a bit slow at times, especially when transferring large files. Also, while the writing experience is great, the screen could be a bit brighter, especially in low light conditions. I also have a Boox Note Air 3 C and the colors are not as bright on reMarkable as Boox Note Air. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Remarkable Paper Pro is a fantastic tool for anyone looking to go paperless or simply enjoy the feel of pen-on-paper digital writing. It’s a game-changer for productivity and creativity! Highly recommend it.

The reMarkable Paper Pro is the ultimate tool for focused writing, sketching, and note-taking. The E-Ink display feels incredibly close to real paper, and the Marker makes it a joy to use. It’s thin, lightweight, and beautifully designed. With weeks of battery life, distraction-free interface, and cloud sync options, it’s perfect for students, professionals, and creatives. The addition of subtle color support and front light makes it even more versatile. If you want a premium, minimalist alternative to traditional tablets or paper notebooks, this is it.

It's difficult to understand who this device is for exactly. for everything I absolutely love, there seems to be something that makes me feel frustrated using this device. It's the best Color E-ink on the market but to the average person they will find the colors muted if they don't understand the technology. It's a beautiful design, thin, sleek, a great size. The build quality is best in class and the writing feel is unbelievably good compared to writing on a glass tablet. However, the front light is extremely dim, even with it fully on, in a dark room it can still be difficult to read the screen. There seems to be a ton of defective devices (Just check the remarkable reddit page) Adding PDF's and documents can feel like a chore because the RPP doesn't allow you to use the device itself to add files, you have to do it through their MyRemarkable website or app. You cannot use 3rd party pens. You cannot download any apps that might be helpful. It's truly a device that is meant to be distraction free, which I think is actually a stroke of marketing genius phrasing for lack of accessibility and versatility. It may seem like I'm bashing the RPP, but I think it does exactly what Remarkable set out to do with this device. It's the best at distraction free color E-ink writing, drawing and note-taking. But for the premium price it feels like there should be... more somehow. But maybe I'm wrong. I've had the RPP for about 2 weeks now and I've been drawing more than I have since I was a teenager, learning to journal my thoughts, I use it for simple PDFs at work. And if it had apps capability who knows, maybe I would have been too distracted with other menial things. Or who knows, maybe it would have been a true gamechanger in the E-ink space. It makes you wonder every time you use this expensive device.

I’ve been using the reMarkable Paper Pro for a little while now, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best purchases I’ve made. It feels exactly like writing on real paper, but with all the benefits of digital organization. The screen is crisp and easy on the eyes, no glare, no distractions, and the latency is so low that writing feels completely natural. What really stands out is how it helps me stay focused—unlike a tablet, there are no constant pings or apps pulling me away. The Pro version is lightning fast, page turns are smooth, and multitasking between notebooks is seamless. Battery life is excellent, lasting me well over a week with regular use. I use it daily for brainstorming, journaling, taking meeting notes, and reading PDFs. Everything syncs perfectly to the cloud, so I never worry about losing my notes. It has completely replaced my piles of notebooks and sticky notes.

    Fun Digital Journal

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The reMarkable Paper Pro is a neat digital journal that offers lots of pen/marker styles, ink colors, and page templates. This is a very lightweight and thin option for a journal tablet. While it offers unique features as a tablet, this is first and foremost a journal and PDF viewer. The screen has a matte “paper” feel that is unique and different from a traditional glass tablet - not only in touch and feel, but in view as well. The nature of this kind of technology makes it so colors look desaturated on the tablet and way more vibrant on a computer. One of my favorite aspects of the reMarkable Paper Pro is the backlight - specifically how dim it is. It’s great to be able to use this digital journal in a cozy dark room - a traditional tablet is too bright for me even at the lowest brightness and a real journal can’t be used in the dark at all. As fun as it is to physically have different pens and markers, it’s convenient to have the reMarkable as an option to access all the digital features. What I like about the reMarkable Paper Pro: - I particularly like the calligraphy pen for cursive writing and the fineliner for regular notes. It’s fun to have lots of different pen styles and ink color options in just a few clicks. - You can make as many journals and pages as the storage allows, which feels like an infinite amount of pages (You can actually get unlimited cloud storage if you purchase the Connect subscription). This tablet originally comes with 46.32 GB and so far I’ve used 0.53 GB. - Google Drive integration is quite convenient. As a graphic designer, I make PDFs for clients, so I’m able to bring these PDFs into reMarkable to make notes, detail changes and ideas, etc. The highlighter will even conform to the actual text on the page, which makes it look very neat. I love being able to markup PDFs. The integration duplicates a file from your Google Drive, imports it to your reMarkable, then once you mark it up, you can export it back to your Google Drive. - Tons of templates to choose from. I like the lined journals a lot and you can change the template of any page you created. Even within a journal, you can have multiple templates for different pages. - I love the dim backlight, it’s very easy on the eyes. You can also choose to have no backlight. - The “convert to text” option is convenient, especially for longer paragraphs - this lets me write by hand to my heart's content, and not have to take the time to transcribe it. There is an option to save your writing and turn it into text on a new page as well as select any piece of writing and turn that into text on the same page. - It’s very easy to send pages via email as a PDF, straight from the tablet. - I like being able to access my files on the desktop and phone apps. What I don’t like about this tablet: - The screen often shows ghosting, meaning that you can see markings from other pages, when scrolling, or when moving text. The ghosting does go away eventually, but it’s a bit distracting at times. - The marker tip skips sometimes, especially at the start of a pen stroke. This issue can likely be fixed by replacing the marker tip (this set comes with 6 extra tips in a neat little case), but I’ve only been using this for a week - I don’t think it should need a replacement so soon. - Big lines can look wiggly, even when making a smooth pen stroke. - The undo button can be buggy. Pressing it multiple times in a row freezes my journals. Only restarting the tablet from the settings has fixed the freezing issue. - Writing with any color causes the live ink to blink and refresh, which is a bit distracting. You get used to it, but it’s an odd sight for sure. - The finger gestures aren’t as responsive as I’d like. Gestures don’t always register and the ones I use often are: single swipe left or right to flip or add pages, two-finger tap to “undo”, three-finger tap to “redo”, swipe to scroll, and pinch to zoom. Sometimes I’ll have to do these gestures multiple times to get them to work. - I wouldn’t use this for final drawings, only for drafts and sketches. Exporting vectorizes the lines, which makes some lines or corners jagged instead of smooth/round as originally drawn. Even some writing comes out a little jagged once exported. - I downloaded both the Mac and PC desktop apps. The Mac app has a bug where one of the templates is invisible, but I can see what I wrote on the page. The PC app does not have this issue. Suggestions for updates to the reMarkable Paper Pro: - I would like to have an adjustable grid view for the pages and files. Right now, it shows 5 pages across, but I would like to have 2 or 3 pages across for a bigger, more detailed grid view. The folders are also too small for my liking. - I’d love for the toolbar to have its own space separate from the page because it tends to cover integral parts of certain templates. The workaround is either hiding the toolbar, scrolling to the side, or zooming out a bit. I like having the toolbar open at all times. - From what I can tell, the Google Drive integration only allows you to export back into the main Drive folder. I’d like to be able to pick the folder I’m exporting to within my Drive.

This review is based on prior experience with the previous model of the Remarkable tablet, and since I don't have much experience with other paper tablets, there won't be any comparison. The feel and the stylus writing are a little different than the Remarkable 2 at first, but now, after 4 months of use, I'm more comfortable with this. I still feel noticeably different between the two, but it's not a deal breaker. The color screen and adjustable backlight are a great addition. Some PDF file with highlighted text seems more readable on this Pro version than the R2 version. Since this screen is bigger than the R2 version, if you create a notebook on the Pro and view it on the R2 tablet, the R2 will shrink it (0.8 or 0.9 ratio) so the whole page can fit in on the screen. So keep that in mind. The sync is seamless between the app and the 2 tablets. Both will show the same files and groups, and notebooks, etc. One subscription to the Connect works on both tablets. If you like the R2 version and want to upgrade or get an extra one (for yourself or a family member). This has good value.

I am a full time student and I have two years ahead of me. This digital notebook allows me to take my notes with me from multiple quarters without weighing my backpack down from the insane amount of paper I was going through. I love that I can write notes on slides and PDFs can be filled out. The distraction free experience is awesome. The battery lasts a long time. Feels like real paper when writing.

The reMarkable Paper Pro - 11.8" Paper Tablet has been a total game-changer for me! As someone who loves the feel of writing on paper, this tablet perfectly replicates the tactile experience of traditional writing. The texture of the screen combined with the Marker Plus stylus provides an incredible, natural writing feel that’s unmatched by any other tablet I’ve tried. The ability to sync all my notes seamlessly with the MyRemarkable platform is a huge plus. Whether I’m jotting down ideas, sketching, or organizing my day, I can access everything effortlessly on my other devices. Another standout feature is the color ink, which makes my notes and sketches pop without feeling overwhelming or artificial. It’s lightweight and easy to carry, so it fits perfectly into my bag and goes everywhere with me. I never feel weighed down, and the sleek design is always a conversation starter. If you’re looking for a paper-like writing experience with all the benefits of digital integration, this is it. Highly recommend to students, professionals, or anyone who values the art of handwriting in the digital age!

In my opinion the reMarkable is high quality and one of the best e-ink devices on the market. The writing experience is above average for the niche. I personally appreciate the heavier feel of the Marker Plus. For the price I was honestly hoping for more. The backlight quality of the Scribe exceeds the Paper Pro. While the Paper Pro’s color is a nice upgrade, the color quality does not meet the price tag. When the color and lighting improve the price would be more appropriate. This being said, I do not regret the purchase and use my Paper Pro almost daily for both of my careers. The options to keep all notes digitally with access to the records on enabled devices makes it very convenient. Also having the options to create multiple folders assist with the organization. (I know this is an option on other devices as well) The reMarkable’s main attraction for me was the limits. I have not been able to concentrate when using other devices for notes.

I upgraded from the R2 which I have had for about a year. The larger size for more writing area and subtle backlight for use in darker rooms, plus the color e-ink, were features I was hoping for. I am very happy with my purchase. This has been a great help in organizing and reducing the piles of paper notes on my desk.

I bought this for sketching and mocking up designs -- I enjoy the nice matte feel of it, love the built-in eraser of the pen, it's nice and light without feeling overly fragile, the different layers were a great feature to build up designs, and the relative responsiveness while writing made it feel very real and quality. However, I just cannot get past the price of keeping this thing with the other limitations I faced and how *slow* it is to render. It's really finnicky to scroll, zoom, and pan, and doesn't have any good flexibility for either 1) making infinite art boards both vertically AND horizontally, or 2) for clearly marking when a vertical page split WOULD/should occur when you export it to PDF when you start from a blank notebook. It's so many hoops to jump through to get it into a useable format in the end that I ended up just putting money towards other software on my computer to refine my designs instead (for a fraction of the cost). Since I have no use case of wanting this for taking notes, my primary hope was for a good drawing/sketching experience, which it was to a point but just doesn't meet the mark for me long term. I REALLY wanted to love this -- the UI is really simple and easy to learn, but especially upgrading to the color version (originally bought and returned the reMarkable 2 since I thought it'd be worth it for color), I was surprised that it was actually visibly (and painfully) slower, and rendering was a multi-step process so it took multiple seconds whenever it redrew the screen when there were color portions (first render black & white, then another pass for color). The actual color options for drawing were also SO limited... It was the same ~6 colors for highlighting (which I used to do some shading) on the reMarkable 2 as the Pro, which I was fine with on the 2 since it's only black & white, but was very surprised by on the Pro. I really, really enjoyed it at first, and like I mentioned above, certain aspects really are awesome, but for how much this thing costs, there is just no way I can personally justify keeping it when drawing on paper and uploading to my computer for further editing is honestly a near equivalent option for my designs. :(

A solid upgrade from the Remarkable 2

I love this tablet. The color is great and the ink responsiveness very similar to writing in real ink. I docked one star for a couple of reasons: I upgraded to this from the reMarkable 2, which was equally great. The Paper Pro feels a little more "slippery" when writing compared to the previous model, so the tactile response is not as "paper-like". It is also a little slower in responsiveness when waking up and during PIN input - Given the addition of color nad required processing, I can't fault it much for that, but it is noticable when compared to the prior model. All in all, I'm happy with it
