Great upgrade to the reMarkable 2!

I've had the reMarkable 2 for years and love it! The Paper Pro is a great upgrade in many ways - slightly larger size, high quality build, and now with a backlight I can use it in more environments. The colors are nice, but not vibrant on the device if you're expecting that. The keyboard folio is nice too -- also backlit and larger than the reMarkable 2's.
That all said, I got the very first batch of these from the official website and ultimately I've had to return 3 of them in order to get one that didn't have a defect like ghosting (which happened a month or 2 after I bought it).
However, if you have any issues with yours, reMarkable offers a really great warranty replacement service. So overall it's worth getting!

This has allowed me to keep all my notes in one place in different folders. No more losing notebooks! I’ve had it for weeks and am on my initial charge. It’s intuitive to use and I haven’t regretted it. I don’t really use the colors yet, but might eventually.

I love my new ReMarkable Paper Pro! I had the ReMArkable 2 before and really liked it too. But although I could highlight and mark up things in “color” on the Remarkable 2, it only showed up in grayscale unless I looked at it on another device. Now, I have a bigger screen and color!! What’s not to like!

Best Paper Replacement Ever!

Awesome product! I have been trying for years to find a suitable replacement for paper notebooks. I’ve used iPads, Surface Pros, Kindles-you name it; I’ve tried it. I even had the first generation of this product and it was pretty great. But this is what I have been waiting for. The color is such a huge upgrade. And the fact that my documents automatically go into the app on my phone and I can turn them into working documents is so convenient.

Remarkable 2 VS Paper Pro

I've used the Remarkable 2 for a while and now I ordered the newer one for my husband. He absolutely LOVES it! He completely replaced his huge notebooks with this skinny and light weight devise and it'd definitely very convenient.
I'd say the cool things about Paper Pro is the screen light. We are often on a plane and he deff has advantage using his tablet in darker scenarios. The Remarkable 2 doesn't have that. And overall feel of writing is different too, I like mine but this one is kinda better. Oh and it has color screen, mine is black and white. They both are cool and deff worth the purchase!

For some this is a love it, like it or hate it device. Somewhat due to the high cost and likewise the quick flashing right after you add color to a page (not so with just black color).
It is a trade-off of the tech now available in the e-ink world thu RM has it seems done the best job of getting color on an e-ink display. Be it somewhat muted in color brightness and reflecting true colors (red and yellow are the best then maybe pink).
Does color help, indeed it does I feel. The down side of e-ink is it is not user-friendly to move data...unlike a pc or ipad with a keyboard. Jury is still out if I will keep it or not. Even the fabric cover is expensive.
The pencil to tablet feel and sound is ok in my book. Different from the RM2 which I also own but that is fine.

I bought this after using my iPad Pro with a Paperlike screen protector looking for something that felt a little better.
The feel is great. The battery is great.
The software is very limiting. The pen often gets slightly off where you intend to write. I'm also not a fan of limiting the software behind a subscription with how expensive this product it.
Nearly the cost of an iPad... but nowhere near the functionality.

Great battery life, limited drawing tools

It’s tough to replace a notepad, this does have the right feel, accurate drawing capabilities, limited color options, and quite sluggish feel to the interface. It’s better than the amazon paper, and probably anything out there. I would like to see more integrations, basic apps for books, and alternatives for drawing. The drawing is quite limited, only a few colors, zoom works, you can cut and paste, rearrange pages. Overall good product, but replacing paper pads is difficult.

Upgraded from Remarkable 2 and the larger screen, added backlight and the color options are big improvements. I love the paper-like feel and sync across all my devices. The tablets have been a perfect solution for me!

Great device. Very user friendly, in terms of the interface does not do to much. Your focus on task will improve. I love it for studying and taking notes. I also have to say the battery is amazing I used for a full week and and only had to charge it once. I have nothing but glowing things to say about it.

This takes the place of lugging around multiple notebooks and a calendar. The choice of templates is wonderfull. They are all extremely useful. Using the convert to text feature really helps for sharing your notes with others.

Wow- no more notebooks all over the place- no more distractions while typing or writing. This thing is amazing. The accompanying app is easy to use. I was on the fence about black and white or color- but I love taking notes in my iPad so I knew color was for me. A little heavier and bigger, but still excellent.

Remarkable has done something quite clever. They have managed to use a marketing campaign touting a "distraction free" device. The build quality is premium don't get me wrong but the internals are low spec for the price. This however does not matter as there is very little functionality here. It's essentialy a eink notebook and that's it. You can't even change the sleep screen although on eink devices it uses no power to display a picture on it while it's asleep. This would be far too distracting of course. Reading books? Also too distracting! In the event you have a drm free epub or pdf you can import it. If the pdf is large it will take forever to load to the point you might think it's frozen. The case is 179$ , it's a basic thin leather case but again it's remarkable one of a kind distraction free ecosystem. The price of the case was distracting to me I have a admit. Writing is fine I have a boox go 10.3 as well which feels similar and has more clarity due to no color or front light though. Boox has a more powerful processor and more memory and can run android apps "distraction alert!". It's extremely thin and light compared with the remarkable but the pen is cheap feeling by comparison. Colors are nice on remarkable but I only use it for work and since it's such a pain to find a distracting illustration ridden drm free ebook it makes no difference. Best buy may want to rethink placing this near the kindle scribe which I also own as some people may assume they can easily read books on here too. If you are a kindle reader you probably should go with the scribe. It's all well made device with basic note taking functionality, the company was very clever in their distraction free marketing as they do not have to add any improvements apparently. Oh and they want you to subscribe to a monthly remarkable sync plan of sorts. If you are in the market check out the boox devices and scribe.

HI there! Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We hear your frustration, and it's clear our minimalist, distraction-free approach didn't align with your expectations for the price and overall functionality. We do appreciate you highlighting the premium build quality, and your candid comparisons to other devices are noted. Feedback like this is incredibly important for our development team, and we've passed your thoughts on pricing, performance, and features on to them.
