Disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have seen Rent on broadway quite a few times and it is by far my favorite show I've seen and I am moved by it every time I see it. I was however, slightly disappointed in the cast of the DVD with the exception of Tracy Thoms. I thought the interactions were forced and there was no intrinsic chemistry between any of the actors. I thought the cast tried too hard to encapsulate the vibe from the original cast. In trying too hard it was a little more over the top than it needed to be and a lot of the subtle nuances in the interactions were lost. Point being, don't try to hard to mimic a good thing, let sleeping dogs lie and let's remember Rent at its finest, not with this DVD rendition.
