If you are a fan of survival horror and / or have fond memories of the original Resident Evil 2 this game is a no brainer. The zombies and lickers look better than ever. The atmosphere is unsettling on its own only to have the tension raised to heart pounding levels when Mr.X starts his rain on your parade. Playing through both campaigns with Leon and Claire will give you the full story and it’s definitely worth your time to see it through to the end. Get yourself ready for a new take on an old classic that surpasses its predecessor in many ways. This game gets a bloody shotgun wielding recommendation. May not be for the feint of heart.

The original survival horror is back but better than ever. RE2 remake still haves the original vibe & atmosphere from the original 1998 version. The graphics are amazing with complete detail of characters, environment & gore. The gameplay is also a lot better & easier to control than the original. Overall, Capcom has done it again making this the best remake up to date.

For long-time fans of Resident Evil as well as new players, this is an excellent entry in the series with great controls and gameplay and some of the most beautiful graphics of any game. A return to the classic survival horror focus of the series, while vastly improving control mechanics and offering varying degrees of difficulty for every player. The game is still going to be challenging in any mode, but never feels unfair.

This game is simply awesome especially if you like Horror games. Pros it looks awesome and plays kinda like Resident Evil 4. Cons it can get pretty tough at times this is not a shooter it’s a survival horror game ammo is scarce the whole game & puzzles at times have to be done on the fly while being attcked at the same time. Definitely a game to own if you played the original it brings back so many childhood memories.

We all waited so long for this Remake and it’s finally here and it was worth it. Didn’t get the correct code for the pre order Samurai guns for it on release day for the code ( via email ) was 12 characters long but for all my Xbox owners we know it needs to be 25 so I called Best Buy and they told me to wait a day so I started playing while I waited for the DLC and man is this game awesome I got the Deluxe Edition and wow...the graphics, controls, gameplay, costumes, Albert Wesker’s gun and the soundtrack all outstanding. It’s just too bad I didn’t preordered sooner to get the SteelBook SMH but like Best Buy said to wait for the new code in a day sure enough it arrived this morning in my email and it worked. I am so happy with this game and Thanks Best Buy for keeping your word.

Remakes seem so hard to get done correctly, but this one manages to get almost everything right while staying largely faithful to the original. And that's coming from someone who was broken out of his Nintendo fanboyism by the original RE2 and loved the hell out of it. It is not a beat by beat remake at all, but it doesn't stray too far from the source material. The only real complaint I have is that the alternate scenarios for each character aren't very different from each other, aside from the starting point and couple of small things here and there. It's largely the same story with the same cut-scenes as the main scenario. Otherwise, a fantastic remake that has me anticipating the remake of RE3.

Even though this is a remake of the original 1998 classic, this could have honestly been an entirely new game. You can tell Capcom really put in a lot of effort into making it feel fresh for all of the folks that havent played the original, and it's refreshingly different for everyone that has. This game is going for a photo realistic look, and it works beautifully with the atmosphere and gives the game a very scary and intense feel. The different scenarios and play throughs give this game amazing replay value, and is definitely a must buy for mature audiences !

I absolutely adored my 20+ hours with this game. I’m a horror fan and have gotten desensitized to scary stuff over the years but this game made me jump my heart beat go faster multiple times and made me mad and frustrated but in a good sort of way because once you figure it out, it was very satisfying. Horror is top notch, gameplay is smooth and fun, story is decent but the characters are what lead it and you will come to love them and want them to suvive. I definitely recommend this to any horror fan and a fan old school type game design. This is a must buy.

Where do I even begin?! This game is almost perfect, the combat, the voice acting, the atmosphere, the cast of characters you all know and love (or loathe) is all here. The story is familiar yet different enough so that you cant just go on memory of the past to get you through the first playthrough or so. It's absolutely wonderful how Capcom took a classic from another era and made it look and play like something that totally would come out this era. Cant wait for this style of reimagining on RE3: Nemesis

I played the original when it came out and loved it. This is not a remaster, this game is a full blown remake of that classic sequel. It is bigger and better in every single way. They don’t make games like this very often. If you own a current generation console you are truly missing an amazing game if you don’t have this in your collection. You especially need to check this out if you have an Xbox One X, it looks unbelievable on my 65” 4K TV with HDR.

Great story, very challenging, tons of replay value, and lots of jump scares

RE2 remake is fantastic. The game feels new and fresh, with a familiar story. However, there are some new elements that make a familiar tale like Resident Evil 2 feel completely new and fresh to even the most seasoned Resident Evil veterans that know the original RE2 story like the back of their hand. This is how remakes should be made. 10/10.

Huge fan of the Resident Evil franchise. I have been playing since grade school and it has never been a let down. It is a nostalgic treat to see this game redone with the RE-Engine. Graphics are superb along with all the animations. The zombies are more gruesome and the campaign story won't disappoint. If you are fan, this should be a part of your collection.

This is one of the most anticipated games in the Resident Evil franchise and yes, were back at surviving horror. Graphics are 10/10 same as the gameplay. Back to were the number of items you can carry are limited and if you play in the hardest difficult, you in the need of an Ink Ribbon. Definitely one of the best games released this past month.

I played the original when I was younger and had high hopes for this game, I was not let down. Presentation is top notch and game play is fun. Don't let the fact that this is a remake of an older game make you think it was a cash grab, it's totally up to today's standards and hopefully leads to a remake of Resident Evil 3!

The 1998 classic gets more than just the upgrade treatment - Capcom revamped the entire story and, while paying homage to the original Resident Evil 2, has given us a truly haunting story with spectacular visuals, vicious enemies, plenty of gore, and an atmosphere of absolute dread. Perfect game.

I never played the original but I was completely immersed and impressed by this game. Fantastic graphics, good controls and gameplay, replayability, and challenging. Turn off the lights and put your headphones on for a spooky and fun experience.

I remember RE11 back in 98 and it was an awesome game I rank it up there in my top 10. Capcom could not have delivered a better remake and reimagined survival horror. This game is just amazing.

Good remake of Resident Evil 2, kept the game spiritually the same while adding enough enhancements to make it worthwhile. Good controls, graphics, gameplay.
