I use the full review scale so that is a very good score. There are a ton of experiences that I wouldn't waste my time on this generation, but RE7 is not one of them. And with the Gold Edition it's even better. The design of the game is great. You will frequently come across locked doors or things impeding your progress that you need something for. As you go along the other route, you find what you need and eureka moment, you now know what you need to bypass the barrier in true Metroidvania fashion. This extends into the DLC as well (at least with End of Zoe and Not a Hero). The game has excellent pacing and a cool, well thought out story. The pieces of the plot start to fall into place, shedding light on earlier details. Resource management is fun because you can save all your good stuff for the ending. Shame about the generic enemies, though. They also could've made the puzzles (if you can call them that) a little harder. Overall, it's nowhere near Resident Evil 4's level of quality, but like I said, it's a great game nonetheless made even better by the DLC. The DLC has the same great design as the main game, though with new mechanics. I highly recommend you play Not a Hero and End of Zoe. Even though their stories aren't all that, and they don't really add much to the main game as far as revelations are concerned (the files you can find are still entertaining, though), the gameplay in these DLCs is still great. All the DLC is on disc, except for Not a Hero which you need to download from the PS Store.

Though it features a new gameplay style for the series by featuring a first person perspective, this entry very much feels akin to the way most of the franchise played prior to RE4. This is mostly thanks to the way that the horror elements and tension compliment the slower, more methodical combat and puzzles that were overshadowed or fully missing from some of the later games in the franchise. The movement can feel a bit too slow at times, which is probably my only real gripe with the game so far. Otherwise the gameplay is thrilling, the scares feel well earned and the game looks grotesque in the best possible way with the PS4 pro enhancements.

A great turning point for the Resident Evil series. Whereas Resi 4 took the series too far into the third person action territory, Resi 7 brings it back to the weird, B-Movie horror/adventure game roots. This is the real step forward for the franchise. The first person perspective put you squarely in the character shoses and let you experience the world first hand. It does stumble with some of the design choices, characters, and enemies but it keeps it from derailing by having great graphics, controls, interaction and immersion. Resident Evil 1 light if you will. Not a perfect game but a step in the right direction.

I love that RE started off as a puzzle thriller/horror/OTS game but hated what it had turned into, basically a shooter with a little puzzle thrown in. RE7 takes it back to the horror roots in this game and the VR mode is freaky worth it. The base game and some DLC are well worth the purchase of this edition but I hate that there is a return to the almost run and gun that RE has become. The Not A Hero DLC just urks me. Get it and do not play the game in VR when you have cats in the room, or do, and have a heart attack.

I really enjoyed this game, and it was refreshing to get back to survival horror after several mediocre action games in the series. Some of that trademark hammy dialogue makes its way into the game, but that's kind of par for the course with RE. The dlc is all here in the gold edition, although it's more hit or miss. Some of the minigames are fun but nothing special. And the story dlc is a nice diversion after finishing the main game but also not really anything special.

I didn't have too much of a problem with 4, 5, and 6's action oriented direction but I did prefer the previous entries focus on atmospheric horror that 7 has returned to. Solid puzzle solving and item management while exploring a mansion type area. First person perspective took some getting used to but it added a more claustrophobic feeling. An overall back to form for Capcom and the Resident Evil series.

I used to be a huge Resident Evil fan (Resi4 is one of my top 10 games ever), and I was not disappointed. I had it on the normal difficulty and haven’t gone back since, didn’t play the included DLC. The game is almost perfect until the third act when numerous gross worm looking enemies spawn throughout the house, and they are just not fun to fight. If you like creepy games this is excellent.

This game is really scary. The visuals and especially lighting do a really good job of conveying this to the player. RE7 is one of the best games in the series. The Gold edition has some included DLC that really isn’t anything that special and isn’t worth the extra price unless you can get it on sale like I did.

I have played Resident evil since the ps1 days and this game is worthy to be included in the legacy unlike RE6. The game has higher resolution for the ps4 pro and supports HDR for your tv. The family in the game is creepy and scary when they start following you.

can't tell you how much I love RE7. it is not as similar to the origin playing as 3rd person with zombies surrounding you. this game gives more depth in the fright factor. plays especially well being in VR mode so get PSVR if you can. this gold edition has all the DLC on disc except for Not a Hero which is free on PSN

Loved playing game Story was good in beginning but towards end got dull. Found myself going around in circles looking for gun. Maybe just me because this is my first time with resident evil. But must say it deserves a 4 star for sure. If it had more weapons could of gave it a 5.

This game is pretty fun and I've heard it's even better with PSVR. It's decently scary and other people who don't necessarily play video games always seem to have fun watching other people play.

A great return to more atmospheric horror than the last handful of RE game. Although I personally enjoyed 5 & 6 and the Revelations games, I can understand why some didn't. If you have PSVR than you definitely should own this.

This game was really fun until the last third of the game were it seems the designers ran out of time. Walking through an empty salt mine was very bland and boring. Otherwise it was about 10 hours of fun puzzle solving and Boss Fights.

This is more survival horror than the action games that the series became. The graphics are outstanding. The first person viewpoint works well for this type of game (and you can play in VR). The DLC is alright.

You play as Chris to survive the latest outbreak and take out new enemies that pop up in swamp-filled areas. Resident Evil 7 Biohazard: Gold Edition includes two new games to increase play options.

This game is a return to form for the Resident Evil series. Less about shooting and more about horror and puzzle solving. The story is compelling and scary. If you love horror, this is a must have.

RE games have been pretty bad since 4 and 5, but things pick up again in 7. Got a great discount on this copy and would highly recommend. Great value and a lot of fun.
