If you're a hardcore fan of the series dating back to the first games and have carried that faith forward into the newer games you'll find this newest iteration an amazing combination of the old thrills and new combat. The game takes place in first person view for its entirety and keeps you on the edge of your seat, especially on initial dive. If you happen to have gotten it for PS4 and have a VR headset you can play it that way for extra immersion. Resident Evil 7 really showcases what PSVR can accomplish and what we can expect in the future. Overall I'd give it a 8/10 as it can use a few quality of life tweaks here and there as well as a few minor story depth changes but overall as a fan of the series it was definitely worth the buy with the first playthrough on normal netting about 12 hours of gameplay.

If you have the playstation vr you must get this title. It's super scary and super fun. My wife and I enjoy playing this game with friends.even without the vr this game is scary and a true resident evil game.

this game is awesome, it is beautiful and the graphics are breathtaking and there are quite a bit of scares in it, def worth getting, a tad on the short side but plenty of dlc to keep ya entertained and scared

This was one of the best gaming experiences I had all year. I played it the entire way through with my friend and we had a lot of fun. The game scares you quite a few times and there's a ton of spooky action.

I had already completed this on the Xbox, but after buying the VR system, this was a must have game. It very scary in VR, don't play if you have a weak heart. This is the only way to live this type of game.

One of the best Resident Evil games ever. The story is good the atmosphere is amazing and the VR is so good. Fantastic game.

After playing the RE7 beginning hour demo in VR, I wasn't sure I'd be able to play through RE7 in VR. A bit too intense. However, once I got RE7, I played through it all in VR and has one of the most terrifying, fun, and awesome gaming experience I've had in a long time. The sense of presence is unsettling and unforgettable. There aren't too many jump scares, but the scares are great and so is the gameplay. Story is pretty good with great gameplay to support it. Highly recommend.

Its a great game to play if you have PS4VR. I had to ish before I went into the first door. I was afraid I might ish myself when I slowly entered the pitch black room where who knows what went down. LOL

This game may be the 7th in it's franchise, but it has completely rebooted itself in th e best way possible. You will constantly move around the mansion in fear figuring out what happened in the house.

RE7 and RE8 is an amazing story both feed off each other

Even though it is a first person horror game, this has the original gritty eerie feeling the original resident evil games used to have. A welcome change to the action horror games they’ve become

SCARY SCARY SCARY....best Resident EVIL game in YEARS. Highly recommend for any one who is a fan of the series and wants to take the genre back to the old school creepiness that made it famous!

First off, I Actually was pleasantly surprised with this buy. I have really never played any of the resident evil games however I recently got a PSVR and decided I had to get a full length horror game with it. Honestly, it was really good in the VR mode. A little lacking in graphics however in terms of VR you don't think about it as it seems like you're there. In terms of story, I actually enjoyed it. Will be buying the dlc for this. I definitely recommend.

If you like vr games you should like this. Had the action and the scares

i've played the first game of the series way back when i was a kid and now this is the 7 in the series and it never disappoint. i will give the VR function a try when i have the chance

Resident Evil goes back to its roots and will not disappoint. Set in a Louisiana estate containing mansions, puzzles, keys, locked weapons and basement/morgue, it's as if the creators took RE1 & RE2 and combined it with the murderer's home from True Detective. The 1st person camera makes enemies more startling and avoiding damage more difficult. As always, ammo is scare; so aim carefully. I will not reveal any of the story, that is for you to unravel.

I loved the resident evil games, but after 5 they started to falter for me. This one brings back some of that original feeling I had playing the original resident evil way back when

Talk about immersive! You gotta play this riding the day and not alone. I have never experienced something quite like this game. Freaky, scary, mind bending. Worth playing for sure!

I've never played a game quite like this. It's the jolt in the arm that the series desperately needed. Just incredible so far, even though it reuses the tropes of keys, herbs, etc.
