Left my hair brittle. Don’t recommend. It may have to do with the fact that I have 4c hair

Mixed feelings

As the title says, I have very mixed feelings about this hair dryer. First thing you need to know is this is not at all like your typical hair dryer. That is both good and bad.
Let’s talk about the good first. It works. It does what it’s supposed to do. I have curly/wavy hair that frizzes and poofs out like crazy, particularly if I don’t dry it first. My go to is to just usually let it air dry (takes a while because it’s thick too) and then use a straightener on it. This is mainly because it’s quick. I work from home most of the time, so as long as I don’t have any meetings coming up, it’s not a big deal to let my hair dry and then run a straightener through it. I don’t fully straighten my hair, instead I use it to tame some of the wilder curls and cut down on the frizz and poofiness. The RevAir allows me to do all of those things while my hair is still wet. I used a low to medium intensity setting (as low as 2 and went as high as 4 – the highest setting is 7). It removed some of the crazier curls and calmed my hair down. As advertised, it was also very quick at drying my hair. I love all of those things and wouldn’t hesitate for a second to keep using it…if it wasn’t for the following issues.
The cons. One, it is huge. It reminds me more of a small vacuum cleaner than a large hair dryer. It has a base unit that by itself weighs several pounds. Connected to that is the hose, and it quite literally is like a vacuum hose, as big around and heavy, just not as long. The hose connects the base to the actual drying head, which also weighs at least a pound (maybe closer to two?) Between the weight, the bulk, and the vacuum hose, this thing is not easy to use. You have to feed your hair into it (because it works in reverse, it pulls your hair in instead of blowing it all over the place). Then you have to raise it high enough so that it gets to the roots and hold it there for a while to get the full effect. This was manageable in front but it got to be more and more difficult as I made my way around. When I got to the hair in back, it was very hard to get my hair in, hold the wand in place, and then do that over and over again to finish drying my hair. And speaking of vacuum cleaners, this is as loud as or louder than a vacuum cleaner.
So, all of this to say, yes, I have very mixed feelings. It does what I was told it would and it does do it well. But who has room for something like this? And even if you do have counter space, it’s not the prettiest thing to have sitting out all the time. It’s sleek and nice for what it is (well, except for the vacuum hose), but it doesn’t exactly fit my décor either. And then it’s so heavy and clunky to use. I have to be honest, I think this will probably end up sitting in a cupboard except for those times where I really want to make an effort. Ultimately, it’s nice and it works, but for the price tag, please work on making it smaller and more manageable. Until then, I don’t know that I’d recommend this product.

Big and Effective

For me, it’s the simplicity of it. Trying this out on my child’s hair was fun. It has some weight to it and it doesn’t get as hot, and it’s easy to put away.
The size is big, but it’s easy to handle. It reminds me of an elephants trunk or that car wash vacuum. In person it’s thick like your forearm. No child should handle this at all, maybe 12 and up.
For those with a lot of hair, just section it off.
When drying, you can put the rev air all the way to the scalp, well to the roots of your hair, and you will not burn that said person or yourself for that matter. For me with small twists, my hair dried up quick.
It’s very easy to put together. It is a little loud but not overly loud. Just sounds like a regular blow dryer. It flattens hair very well and you can comb right thru when you slowly pull the hair out of the Rev Air.
Suction 7 and high heat seemed to be the level that worked for me. The hair I used it on was 4c/ kinky shoulder length. Only took like a minute to dry the hair on this level. You won’t need a flat iron.
Overall time, it took maybe around 1hr max. So refreshing. You will not be disappointed!

I think it needs some rework or add ability to press on the hair. I bought it for my wife but it is just like a dryer.

Maybe if you had great upper arm strength you would like it. Doesn’t get the roots dry therefore it puffs up after your finished blow drying. I hate it.

A Must-Buy for Curly Hair

Drying and stretching my hair (Should Length Curly - Type 3) has always been a chore and I have tried so many products over the years to make this process easier and finally with the RevAir I have found the solution!
Right out of the box you can tell it`s a quality product that is built to last though I will say it is quite cumbersome in that the base unit is quite large. However, after getting enough space set aside for the base unit I jumped right into the instructions. At first I was concerned that it would be a complex process and was worried I`d end up pulling and ruining my hair, but the instructions are extremely straightforward and I was quickly up and running.
The process does take some trial and error to find that perfect setting for you as there are 3 heat settings and 7 tension settings, but after playing with it and going through a couple sections of my hair I was able to pinpoint the right setup for me to which I will note the tension aspect is definitely what I would advise tweaking first as that made the biggest difference for me. So after getting the right settings I was able to finish drying and stretching my hair in 15 minutes! I mean this used to be an absolutely grueling process, but in only 15 minutes I was done and my roots were even dry on top of it too! I really can`t stress how fast and easy this entire process was, especially after the 2nd time around once I had the right settings and motion down. Also I will say that my biggest fear of the RevAir pulling my hair and damaging it was laughable after using the product as I can assure you that is nothing to worry about as you can definitely notice the use of less heat on your hair and the usability has definitely been a key focus of RevAir in making the product.
Overall, I really can`t recommend this product enough. The ease of use and final results speak for themselves. I do have type 3 hair, but even if you had type 4 hair (coily/kinky) I can assure you that you would receive similar results as this is one of those products that is exactly as advertised. The size of the base unit is the only slight negative of this product, but as long as you have somewhere to store it then this hair dryer by RevAir is an absolute must-buy product!

Only blew air, but failed to do anything else. Which made it an extremely expensive hair dryer. Got a replacement today, so we're hoping this product will actually work with the second one!

No!! This is not worth the price. I have long, thick, wavy hair, and there was not enough tension to straighten my hair. This is so disappointing. I would still have to flat iron, which defeats the purpose.
