It didn't work!!! Save your money. Does not work for 4 c or 4 b hair. But if your hair is already straight it is fine.

In the box is the heat producing wand, reverse-air base unit, hose, removable basket, wand rest, owner manuals with quick guide and a quick informational card with a QR code, two RevAir hair ties and nylon covers for hose and the base unit. First impression, where am I going to put this thing. Taking the hair dryer out of the box and placing on the counter where I normally do my hair (the bathroom sink) but no room for no other tools. I was however able to move things around to place my combs and brushes. I immediately skimmed over the manual to make sure I do everything properly and washed my hair and started the machine. I kept the quick guide handy (which this is very helpful), and started on my past the shoulder 3B THICK hair. I sectioned my hair like the example in the quick guide and I started at tension 2 with high heat and then I gradually went up to tension 6 but it got to hot. So I lowered the tension and the heat setting to no heat and then low and worked my way back up for the rest of my hair. I figured out that I would start with tension 5-6 and end with around 2 with low heat and then start with another section. For the first time it wasn’t so bad. My dry time was way longer than I am accustom to so I was hesitant to use the product again but I read the instructions more closely and watched how my daughter used it and after by my 3rd and 4th wash I had a better routine and I was dry within 30-40 minutes. My hair was straight but I typically like my hair smoother than the lightweight blow out look but all I would have to do is take a few extra minutes and slide the flat iron through my hair with the heat protectant and my hair was smoother and straight. My daughter has shoulder length, thick 4A hair and she is in love with this product but it definitely wasn’t love at first sight. She does not normally press/straighten her hair because it takes her so long to dry and press/straighten out her curls. After the first wash, she followed the quick guide and sectioned her hair and adjusted the settings. She wasn’t fond of how heavy the wand was and the repetition needed for each section of hair to get it dry and straighten to the way she wanted it. Her roots still had a little bit of curl/wave but with more washes and trial and error she did quickly learned how to adjust and she uses the dryer often and follows up with the flat iron for her bangs and curls on her ends as needed. Overall, I do like this product but because of what it does for me, I would not purchase again. However, it works great for my daughter and I would definitely purchase again for her. I do wish the dryer came with a case of some sort to protect base unit from dust and to also neatly store the whole product when it is not in use. Would I recommend to friends and family? I probably would recommend to friends and family that are looking for this type of product to specifically straighten curly hair.

My wife absolutely loves the RevAir Reverse-Air Hair Dryer, she loves the amount of volume that she can achieve when using this and has absolutely fallen in love with this dryer. Others have mentioned the bulkiness and clumsiness of using this device and I would have to agree with them as well, the dryer base is fairly large, falls over easily, and the hose doesn't seem long enough to easily use this without pulling the base of the unit around sometimes. The plastic hanger that comes with the unit to hang the hose and dryer to the base unit seems absolutely useless as well just due to the design and it usually just pulls the unit over in my experience. I wouldn't let any of those issues deter you from using this though, like I said my wife absolutely loves this thing and uses it every time after coming out of the showers, after some experience she has gotten her drying time down to less than 10 minutes for her hair and then we just shove the unit under the sink out of the way. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a hair dryer, RevAir has made a really great product and anyone who gets this will not regret it.

My wife has long naturally curly hair and can spend HOURS with a flat iron if we have a special event or a date night. She was both shocked and elated when I handed her the box. She had been watching social media videos on these “reverse dryers” for a few months now. Setup took only a few minutes. While she showered, I read the instructions and got it set up. Because she has really thick hair, we did just a small section at a time. It literally took about a minute to ninety seconds a section. What used to take 2 hours was done and ready to go in 20 minutes. Results were fantastic. Hair had volume and felt healthy. There was none of the usual telltale signs of heat straightening being done. The dryer is quite loud, so I wouldn’t recommend using it if people are sleeping nearby. It’s similar to a small shop vacuum with sound. The results are definitely worth it though. My wife said heat and suction never hurt. She never felt it would burn her. The process was like going to an expensive salon. For me, it was definitely worth it, saving myself hours of waiting for her to get ready to go out. The results looked spectacular.

This is the best hair dryer that I have ever owned. One of the best features of this hair dryer is the drying time. The drying time is so quick that it minimizes the time I have to use other tools such as curling irons or flat irons. One thing I love about this dryer is the fact that I don’t have to hold my hands over my head which can be a fatigued easily. This dryer takes parts of the hair and it dries it fast and not only does it dry quick it stretches out my coils in my natural hair and gives it length. It helps to deranged it so I am not pulling my hair to deranged it. This dryer is lightweight and very easy to assemble. You only have to connect 2 pieces together and it’s ready to go . It’s not too big just a tad bit awkward to store. You can always put it back in the box for easy storage. This dryer works on all hair types but I am Especially impressed because my hair is course and curly. I highly recommend this dryer for an easy to use tool. You won’t go wrong with this dryer..

Rev Air reverse hair dryer brings an exciting concept to hair drying. It is a big setup, so you have to have a nice amount of room because the hose is pretty long, but it does straighten your hair. My wife was impressed with the packaging. The assembly was straightforward and quick, My wife's hair is very curly, and it did straighten it. One thing that she noticed was that it took a tad bit longer to dry the hair. It does the job. Your hair is straight as if you pressed it with a comb. And that was minimal shedding or damage to her hair which she liked. It's been proven that heat damages hair, so this is a welcome idea in hair care. But no heat does ad to the drying time significantly. And that's mainly due to the cold air process of drying and pulling the hair into the suction chamber. It had plenty of force on the hair to dry it, yet the hose was long, and the machine itself was space-taking. But if you're looking for straight hair and are manageable on time, RevAir does the job perfectly.

Rev Air is finally a hair dryer that is made for curly hair! It does not tug or damage your hair, which is so important for people who have curly and thick hair. It smooths out your hair to bring a shiny glow to it, No need to do anything more but let the dryer to do the work for you. A tip for those using it for the first time, DO NOT TUG AT YOUR HAIR. Place the handle at the base of your scalp and let it sit for at least 90 seconds. Why? The reason for this is that it needs around that amount of time to straighten your hair correctly and beautify it. It comes out not only shiny but also smooth! Do not put a thick lock of your hair instead create small sections of your hair and put in one section at a time. It very sturdy and well made, the instructions are easy to understand. Your hair should be damp, dry, not oversaturated with water or oils. The only con about it, it is very big. So if you travel a lot , it’s hard to pack. Overall I recommend it because it finally straightens hair evenly smoothly with no damage to those with curly hair.

I ordered this RevAir Reverse Air Hair Dryer for my daughter because she was blessed/cursed with curly hair. It is definitely a love/hate relationship because tending to curly hair has always been a chore for her. I have bought her expensive hair dryers, but the heat has damaged her hair. When I saw this Rev Air hair dryer, I had to give it a shot since it claims to dry and straighten one's hair with much less heat and in a shorter amount of time. Both of these claims were spot on for my daughter's hair. There is no getting around that it is a fairly large bulky appliance, but according to my daughter it is a fact that you quickly get over once you see what it can do. It was very simple to take out of the box and set up. It took my daughter around 10 minutes. Once she put it together, she put it to work on her curly thick hair. She put her hair into sections and went to work on her damp hair. Before you get started you will need to figure out which setting of tension you are ready for. You can choose between no tension at all to 7 on the scale. Next you will need to figure out how much heat you want by choosing high temp, no heat or low temp on the wand. Of you are unsure, the manual does a good job of guiding you through the process. My daughter was absolutely blown away by how effective this Rev Air hair dryer is! She was able to get her hair dry and straight in half the time it normally takes her. Plus she loved that it didn't make her hair feel like it was on fire, like it normally does with her previous hair dryer. It is a worthwhile investment that will make a huge difference with someone who spends a lot of time on their hair. My daughter highly recommends this Rev Air hair dryer.

Beauty Salon for your home, if you have space!

The RevAir - Reverse-Air Hair Dryer - Black brings the beauty salon to your home to bring quality and safe hair drying to without the normal risk of heat damage. The product takes a whole new approach to hair drying by pulling your hair into the unit, while channeling the air flow in such a way that prevents overheating, tangling, and damage. We found this product to be considerably larger than was expected and find it to be difficult to justify using on a daily basis without needing a separate table or large countertop. The overall effectiveness of the hair drying fell short of their claims to dry faster than traditional hair dryers. Yes, the unit did meet the expectations of drying hair, softer and straighter, and less heat than a traditional unit. Hair could be damaged due to heat if used incorrectly, just like any other hair dryer. Finally, the overall look was a bit concerning for my wife and daughter... PROS - Dries hair in an unique and innovative way - Strong build despites its size - Effect for not straight hair such as curly, kinky, or wavy hair styles CONS - The size! - Not really more effective than a traditional hair dryer

Actually works for my families 4C hair

I have to say I was a bit skeptical a put this dryer. I have seen it before, and it always piqued my interest, but I was a bit apprehensive with my particular hair texture. I and my family are black women with 4C shoulder length or longer low porosity hair. Wash days can be very tedious, strenuous, and sometimes I’d rather just let my hair air dry. I also try to minimum the heat I use on my hair. Enter this dryer. I will say out of the box it is heavy, and can be a bit overwhelming. For those with counter space you’re golden. Those who lack counter space, it might be a bit of an issue depending on where you plan on using it. I really like that I am able to control the temperature, which is ideal for me. I did this on freshly washed hair with leave in conditioner, I used the dryer on my mothers long braids, and the results were undeniable. Being able to have something that can get to my roots, without having to use really harsh heat is something you can’t beat, and I have never had the privilege until now. There is a bit of a learning curve with getting the right timing to ensure it’s dry, and it can be a workout. No different than any other blow dryer, but with less constant movement. Overall I am very happy with the results, and will continue to be able to safely and efficiently dry my hair.

Works - but large, awkward and bulky

The product works as advertised in social and on videos. However it is expensive, extremely bulky and awkward to use. For my young daughter, who cannot stand to have a blowdryer brush run through her hair, it works pretty well and is painless. But if you don't have these special conditions I think a cheaper option would do well and not take up so much space in your home

My wife is the one that used it... As described, this is a hair dryer and not a straightener. It does a good job cutting the time to dry my curly 3b hair but does not straighten it fully. It leaves me with a puffy finish on my hair ends but it does a good job straightening the roots which is sometimes difficult to achieve using hair iron. This will be ideal for those who have flat hair and wants to add volume. My hair is thick and frizzy and by using this , it did not achieve the sleeker hair I prefer. Other things to consider with this product is that it is noisy and bulky. So this will be hard to carry for traveling and it would take time to get use to the vacuum noise it makes. Overall, this product does saves time in drying hair and it dries it more evenly compared when using a blow dryer specially when you are doing it by yourself. In terms of the end result, I did not like it because of my hair quality that requires more heat and does not need added volume to it. But this will be more suitable for those who wants hair body and volume.

Not the best for my needs

I know the first thing come may notice is that I gave the RevAir Reverse Hair Dryer a somewhat low rating and assume that automatically means I must find it to be a bad product. It's not BUT for my hair and my needs it is definitely not a top pick. I wanted to clear that up immediately because I know the rating would be a little concerning to me. I was instantly intrigued by the possibilities of this machine, especially since it said it works well for coily and kinky hair as well as what is traditionally described as curly. I am always looking for the best options to safely dry my natural "ethnic" hair that is an interesting mix of corkscrew curly and coily without causing any heat damage and will allow my blowout to last through the humidity until my next weekly wash. I was surprised by the size of this device. If you don't have a lot of space to store this or even to use it in a decently sized are with counter space this may be the first obstacle you face. Not exactly a deal breaker but worth consideration and mentioning. Setup and use was fairly simple. As far as how it performs...it does do the main job of drying my hair fine. Not as smoothly as using a traditional dryer and paddle brush which would make my flat iron step much faster and healthier because I can use the lowest setting so that did make this something I wouldn't choose to use often except for times where I plan to forego flat ironing and choose to style my hair in a different way such as braids or twists. For those with similar hair (primarily 4b-4c) this may actually be a good thing if you are the type that doesn't want a smoother finished look or tend to avoid additional heat tools like irons. Which is why I stressed in the beginning that this wasn't a bad device it rated lower because of how it fits my needs. Would I recommend investing in this? Depending on your styling habits and needs, yes. But if you are like me and want the smoothest blowout that allows me to use my iron for completing my style (and guarantees I don't have to use the iron again until my next wash session in my humid area) then it may not be the best option.
