It dried my hair quickly even in braids. My hair doesn't also feel deficient in moisture even when dried. It removes the coordination involved with blow drying with a brush at the same time, although you need to detangle first. It is bulky and expensive, but might be well worth it.

Cumbersome Hair Dryer with Good Results

My daughter has very thick, very long, and very curly hair. It’s always been a nightmare for her to get her hair under control after a wash and usually involves blow drying it for a long time and then straightening it as well. We decided to give the RevAir Reverse Air Dryer a try since it’s been pretty popular with people that have her type of hair. I’ll give our overall impressions of the RevAir first and then break it down a bit afterward. Overall Impressions: The RevAir is a unique device that I believe will work very well for some people. The key to getting the most out of it is figuring out what settings work best with your hair type. In our case, a tension level of 4 and low heat gave us the best results, but it took a few uses before we got it dialed in properly. The problem with the device is how cumbersome and awkward it is to use. The unit can be a pain to use and will most likely dissuade some people from actually using it to its fullest potential. Unboxing/First Impressions: The RevAir comes in a very big box and that’s for good reason because it’s a very big unit. What you’re basically unpacking is a canister vacuum that’s meant for your hair. The unit is solidly built and I like the matte finish, has a long enough power cord and also a pretty long suction hose as well. Attaching the hose is easy and getting started with the unit is pretty straightforward. Ease of Use: The RevAir is kind of a pain to use properly. You’ll have to find a place to set down the canister and also make sure that you have enough hose length to use it comfortably. After you get situated you’ll have to hold the unit up to your scalp for 15-30 minutes as you dry your hair. The actually drying process is pretty easy. You get some hair and place it in the tube, it heats and sucks your hair straight and you move on to the next section. The issue with this process is the holding of the unit becomes pretty cumbersome after about 15 minutes and the end piece is very large. This may not be an issue for everyone, but you should realize that the process with the RevAir is going to be very different than using a regular blow dryer. Results: The results after the 3rd attempt at using the unit were good. It took a few tries to get this right and you’ll have to experiment with the settings depending on what type of hair you have, but overall the results speak for themselves. Curly hair comes out straight and with plenty of volume, without having to use a damaging straightener or blow dryers on high-heat settings.

    Game Changer Hair Dryer!

My wife has thick, wavy and curly hair and she absolutely loves using this device! I can’t tell you how many straighteners, curlers, blow dryers and other devices she has used. It seems like she’s looking for a new hair product every three months. She was very happy that set-up was very easy. Trust and follow the guide, because it explains it very well. If you have any questions, just look at the manual. It explains everything! Unboxing it was an experience. It is packaged beautifully. She felt like she was opening the prettiest hair product ever. It’s not cheap, so it’s wonderful the attention to detail and care. Instructions in the quick start guide are very straightforward and clear with great visuals. The “Setting up for Success” portion was especially helpful and allowed her to customize how precisely to use it for her hair type. The device is very easy to set in a way that is specific to your hair type. You can choose the particular strength and heat (cool, warm and hot). Here’s now my wife giving her honest feedback: My hair usually takes 20 minutes to blow dry and I need to use a hair straightener afterward to make it smooth and straight. This did it all in 15 minutes. My hair is naturally wavy and can be difficult to straighten. The results when using this device were soft, perfectly straight and dry strands. The entire process can be done with one hand. It is very simple to move to and from each area. When each area is complete, it creates hair that does not need to be further styled. Overall, the device is a game changer. For years I have spent so much time blow drying and then straightening my hair. This does it seamlessly in minutes. I did not have to do much but hold, wait and move the device. I especially like that it can be used on the cool setting for no damage. Drying and styling my hair takes a long time, but this did it effortlessly in under 20 minutes. It also did my daughter’s unruly, curly hair on the cool setting in under ten minutes. The results are so perfect for very little work. It is definitely worth the price. I will not be doing my hair any other way and will be recommending it to family and friends with difficult to style hair.

The RevAir Reverse-Air Hair Dryer promises to be a revolutionary product to dry and style your hair in a fraction of the time and with less heat damage than traditional hair dryers. I have to say, surprisingly, that the RevAir goes quite a long way to deliver on this promise. The RevAir comes off as a bit imposing at first. The whole system is quite large and there are multiple controls, but after connecting a few pieces together it is actually quite easy to use. The hendheld portion of the hair drier is very light and comfortable to hold compared to a standard hair drier. The vacuum portion is relatively loud but since it is not blowing air directly at you, it is quieter for the user. It's particularly effective for taming frizzy hair and reducing drying time. It took just about half as long to dry and straighten a full thick head of hair compared to a traditional routine. While the RevAir Reverse-Air Hair Dryer is undoubtedly an innovative product with many benefits, it's not without its drawbacks. It takes some practice to get the hang of using it, the suction can be quite strong, leading to tangling and discomfort if you grab too big a section of hair or leave the drier in one location too long. It's best to work in smaller segments and move the wand up amd down the length of the hair. This method will give the most even straightened look, it won't be quite as good as a flat iron but given the time savings and the improvement to hair health over time due to reduced heat exposure, it's a fair trade. Overall, if you're looking for a new hair dryer and are willing to invest in a higher-end option, the RevAir Reverse-Air Hair Dryer is definitely worth considering. Its unique technology and versatility make it a standout product.

Anyone with kinky curls knows what a pain it is to get those things straight. In fact, it may be worth the money and trouble once or twice a year. Chemicals to straighten or that lovely burning hair smell from the flat iron (not to mention the cursing as you singe your scalp every so often) makes it much more trouble than it’s worth most of the time. Needless to say I was extremely skeptical of the RevAir system. But we will try anything in search of easier straightening! The box is HEAVY! Obviously not just a hair dryer in there. My wife took one look and said “whoa! It’s a little shop-vac for my hair!” And she’s right, it totally is. Everything is nicely packaged and the directions for assembly and operation are well written and easy to follow. Yes, I said written. Not just a bunch of pictures, but actual steps written out to follow. I found that refreshing and it cut down on any frustration misunderstanding what to do. Oh, and there are photos of an actual person instead of a cartoon. I appreciate that. So once you have the little machine set up, hose and dryer attached, section your hair, choose your settings, and follow the exact instructions to suck up one section at a time. My wife’s took 90 seconds per section on high heat with level 4 tension. All dry and straight in ten minutes. We were both gobsmacked. No burning smell at all. No scalp burns. Just beautifully straight and dry hair. She’s in complete awe. She had friends over that evening and showed them all, claiming the RevAir her “new favorite thing”. We are having a straightening party with another curly-top later this week. In our forties. A hair party. Seriously. I don’t know why it took so long for this innovation to make its way to us, but if you have curly or kinky hair—it’s worth it to try!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Dry and straighten hair with less damage

I was very excited to try this new technology for styling my hair. I am constantly using a blow dryer and a flat iron because I like my hair straight (my natural hair is curly), so I was happy to find a method of straightening it with less damage. It works really great on my hair! My sister also tried it out, and it worked well, although it took more time because she has longer and curlier hair. In comparison to the blow dryer or flat iron, however, I would say it takes slightly less time. This dryer works like a vacuum: it suctions your hair, but you have to separate it in small sections. You don't need to use a brush like with the other hair dryers. I pass it through my hair a few times - around five times per section - from all the way up to the roots. It is important to note the size of this air dryer. It is big and heavy, which is the only thing I don't really like about it. It is not something you can take anywhere, but it works great if you are going to keep it in a fixed place. Another thing to keep in mind is that it has many parts to it, and it's very different from a typical hair dryer. Once you get the hang of it, though, it is a great way to style your hair so that it won't damage with so much heat. Overall, I am satisfied with the product and pleased to have tried it out!

“RevAir impressed me with its innovative design and fast drying time, but a few drawbacks kept it from being my top choice.” - Fast drying time - Gentle on hair with less heat damage - Effective for thick or curly and curly but it does not give you a sleek hair or silky hair - Bulky that take up space - Noisy operation - Doesn’t fully replace a flat iron for ultra-sleek - May not suit all hair types If you’ve used other dryers or styling tools, a brief comparison can add depth. - “Compared to my regular blow dryer, RevAir was faster and gentler—but it’s not as compact or quiet.” - “RevAir is a solid choice for reducing heat damage and saving time, especially for textured hair. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely a step forward.”

Worth the money! Ive been eying the revair since it first came out, and I watched SimplyNatural review it. I have been waiting YEAAARRRSSSS for a dupe with no avail. So I said screw it and bought one. Best $400 ever spent. I can dry my hair in no time and stretch it easily without damage. Only downside is it takes up quite a bit of real estate when storing in my closet.

Background: I have 3b bra strap length hair. I’ve had the Revair for 2 years. Overall thought: It has been a great addition to my hair care regime! Pros - Dries hair fast: It takes about 20 minutes for me to dry all of my hair. - Requires little effort to dry hair: Prior to purchasing the Revair I used a blow dryer with a comb attachment. Drying my hair used to take a lot of focus and manipulation to gently pull the comb through my hair. With the Revair I can suck my hair up in the tool, hold it there for 30-60 seconds and BOOM my hair is dried and super stretched Cons - The Revair is quite bulky making it challenging to store and not great for travel. - I’m not sure why but I can never the back of my hair as stretched as the front parts. This isn’t a deal breaker since I use a flat iron after drying my hair.

This hair dryer is great. It works just as intended and shortens the amount of time that I have to spend doing my daughters hair. We are natural and for most naturals we do not use much heat in our hair, simply for the health of our Godly crowns and to retain the beautiful shape of our curls. I’ve only straightened my daughters hair once since birth, simply because it was a tough and long job. Which included an inexpensive hot blow drier and flat iron (cringe), and a couple hours. She has beautiful long, thick curly hair with tons of shrinkage when in its natural state. She has begged me to make her hair straight since last year and although I’ve wanted to do it, I didn’t want to spend the time and risk further damage doing it. She has a tender scalp, which makes it even less fun, as she’s sensitive to detangling or heat near the scalp. Since I’m against tons of heat this unit has been a saving grace in the short time we’ve owned it. It’s unique in shape and operation but it’s allowed me to keep her scalp protected from the harsh heat and I’m able to adjust the heat settings. There were a couple times, as we were enjoying a movie together, as I did her hair in which I did allow (accidentally) for the wand mouth to get too close to the scalp and it got a bit too hot for her. That was user error so be warned that it still gets too hot if you’re not paying attention as to how close or long you’re holding it towards the scalp, as there are small openings that allow warm heat to emit to dry the roots. Other than that, she told me she was comfortable during the entire process. I was very impressed. So much so, I didn’t even bother with a flat iron and will continue to use this as the only method to “straighten” her hair. There was no stress or tension on her hair and it was a quick process. Her hair is just fine and her curls are still beautiful and bouncy. I’m very thankful to this brand for making such a device that’s easy to use and enjoyable for naturals to get a quicker, smoother, and more beautiful blowout without the added stress and unhealthy heat. My daughter loves it too.

I love this dryer for my frizzy, wavy hair. It leaves my hair smooth, straight, and noticeably shiny, with much less effort than traditional blow-drying and flat ironing. It takes so much less time to do my hair, and I don’t hate washing my hair anymore because styling it afterward is so much easier. It also helps reduce frizz and makes my hair look more polished and salon-finished. I do wish it wasn’t so expensive and bulky, as it can feel a bit heavy to handle and store, but for the results it delivers, I find it well worth the extra bulk and price!

The RevAir reverse hair dryer is a game-changer! I find the design uniquely efficient, allowing me to dry mine and the kids hair in half the time compared to other methods we’ve tried. I was pleasantly surprised by how gentle it is on our hair—no more heat damage or awkward contortions to reach every strand. Plus, the sleek and ergonomic design makes it easy to maneuver. Whether you have thick curls like my girls or fine hair, the RevAir adapts beautifully, delivering salon-quality results at home. The only con for me is that, I wish it was more portable. Overall, I’ll say if you are looking to simplify your home hair routine while achieving stunning results, this is the product for you, give it a try.

As a Husband buying this for my wife I never tend to get excited about anything she asks for no matter how much she hypes the items/things up. This truly was a game changer for not only my wife’s hair but also my daughter’s hair. It cut the hair process more than half the time. My daughter and wife are beyond satisfied and i will just say….. if this thing dies one day. I will be buying another one. This benefits them but benefits me and the time i have to wait. Lol. Game changer fellas and best gift I feel ive bought in over ten years. 10 stars. Forget 5. Im considering buying a second one for travel.

The reverse hair dryer is perfect for those who don't like air being blown on them. My daughter has sensory issues so doing her hair takes a lot of time. With this product, not only does it dry fast without damaging the hair, it's also quiet enough for her to manage. It's still loud, just not as loud as traditional dryers. Setup is easy and secure, instructions are clear and simple, and the functionality is safe and ergonomic. You have to section the hair out and dry the sections individually (Imagine sucking your hair through a vacuum tube). The heat settings (High, Low, and No Temp) are on the wand for easy transitions and it takes anywhere from 60 to 90 seconds to dry each section completely root to tip. If you put too much hair in the tube there is an auto-shutoff feature. Simply pull the wand from hair and reinsert the adjusted section. Speaking of pulling, there is also a tension setting to adjust the strength of the suction. The harder the tension, the quicker the hair dries and the longer it stretches out, again with no damage. Please don't use any oils in your hair when you use the dryer as you could damage the product. Only heat protectant is allowed.

It’s loud and it’s clunky. I can’t watch my shows without my headphones. But for someone that hates washing and detangling my 4c hair this makes is way less miserable. I typically wear my hair in a stretch state with a braid out or twist out. This thing is a game changer for that. I will repair a section and twist after and wake up with such a beautiful soft texture. This makes my hair feel so soft and smooth after using and it doesnt smell fried like a typical hair dryer would. I’m not a stylist I barely put heat on my hair but always use protectant when I do but I would always have burnt smelling hair. Probably too high of setting or too much time in one spot but I hate how frizzy traditional blow dyers would make my hair. Overall used it several times in the last 4 months and have been liking it!

My daughter loves this. She said it cut her time down sufficiently to what she used to do with a normal blow dryer. She said it doesn't get so hot that she worries about damaging her hair. It's pricey but if it save your hair from damage I guess it's worth it. I got on sale $100 off retail price. I was going back in forth about purchasing because why am I spending this much for a hair product.

I was excited to receive the RevAir-Reverse-Air Hair Dryer! My daughter has 3C hair that is about 18 inches long when straightened. The RevAir was delivered in a VERY large box. The box included the RevAir base, the hose, the wand, a detachable wand rest, a mesh filter, the manual and quick start guide. After washing and towel drying the hair, I sectioned the hair in 8 sections on each side. A total of 16 sections. No oils or conditioners were added prior to using RevAir Reverse Air Hair Dryer. Starting from the back I began to dry the hair. I started out with the setting on Level I low heat and 5 tension. My daughter said that it was too cool. I was truly amazed that it straighten the hair, however the ends were still fuzzy. I then upped it to Level II, which she said was comfortable. After drying a couple of sections, I upped the tension to Level 7, then went over the previous sections that I had dried. The RevAir did exactly what it said it would do. Although her ends were still a little fuzzy, it is due to needing a trim. Highly recommend.

This product is amazing. You can literally dry a very full thick head of hair in 10 mins tops. I would recommend using small sections if you have very curly hair. It will dry much better and faster. it can seem a little heavy holding the attachment part but its manageable since it takes such a short amount of time to dry.
