Does not work with Stage 2 adapter

This device is not compatible with Stage 2. I had issues at the EVgo public chargers when using the adapter. It was difficult to remove after charging due to overheating. Be cautious when calling Rexing tech support, as they may claim compatibility with Stage 2, but Tier 2 indicated it is not, after waiting a week. I return the item.

The Ideal CCS to NACS Adapter for your Tesla!

With this CCS adapter, and assuming you have the J1772 adapter and mobile charger that came with your Tesla - your Tesla can charge literally anywhere! Superchargers, EVgo, EA, Chargepoint, etc.
Pros:
-Rated for any Level 3 Fast Charging Station and offers charging speeds up to 250kW or 250A. Meaning you'll only be limited by the power source or vehicle, not the adapter.
-Anti-theft lock.
-Dual temp safe switch, stops when adapter reaches 200F.
-Can operate and be stored in subzero weather.
-IP54 rated (water and dustproof).
-Easy to use, just plug and play.
-Snug fit and OEM quality - doesn't look or feel cheap.
-Comes with a nice case for storage.
Cons:
-Adapter is a bulky/heavy, but that is true of CCS chargers anyway.
-NACS will likely become the EV standard within the next decade so CCS might become less common over time (meaning you won't need to use this adapter in the future)
In The Box: Adapter, Travel Case, and Manual
Note: Make sure your Tesla vehicle is CCS enabled as older model years may not support this adapter even if it has the same NACS charge port.
1. Turn-on your vehicle and open system settings on the front touchscreen
2. Choose "Software" from the menu
3. Then, choose "Additional Vehicle Information"
4. Under Additional Vehicle Information, look for "CSS adapter support: Enabled"

Solid CCS Adapter, but chargers are a crapshoot

The Rexing CCS Tesla adapter allows you to use CCS v1 chargers to fast charge your Tesla vehicle. CCS was identified as a standard here in the United States as opposed to the Tesla plug (now named the NACS) which is the defacto standard amongst due to the simple market share of Tesla. The thing is, a lot of money has gone into CCS chargers around the country, and sometimes they are the only chargers available. This adapter, allows you to use these CCS chargers with your equip Tesla vehicle. NOTE: Cars older than mid-2019 may require a retro fit kit from Tesla which already includes a CCS adapter. You can check your CCS support in the Software Update 'Additional Vehicle Information' screen under 'CCS adapter support' (Installed means you can use it, Not Installed means you need a retrofit).
So assuming you have CCS support on your Tesla, inconveniently Tesla does not include an adapter. They will sell you one but you can opt for a unit like the Rexing, which essentially supports the same standard and power, but you can purchase from Best Buy. That said, the Rexing and Tesla adapter look and function identically - with the same power rating (250 kW).
Despite its rating, I was only able to charge at 78kW at one Chargepoint charger. EvGO offered chargers locally too, but maxed out at 60kW. It's hard to find high capacity CCS chargers that will output reliably to an adapter. I don't blame the adapter as much as I do the CCS chargers. One downside of venturing outside the Super Charger network is the reliability of stations. Despite this, the adapter worked well and I was able to add quite a bit of charge in 10 minutes. DC Charging is much faster than AC Level 2 charging.
With the future of CCS looking dim, given the plethora of manufacturers going all in on NACS, an adapter like this makes sense if you road trip and like having the flexibility of choosing what charger you want to stop at beyond the super charger stations. I used this once because on a road trip there was a CCS closer to where my friends were vs the supercharger station. If you're a casual road tripper, or just drive locally I'd pass on an adapter like this. Overall, the Rexing unit is just as easy to use as any other CCS adapter I've looked at and appears to be high quality.

This is the Rexing CCS to Tesla (NACS) charging adapter. It pretty much expands the charging options for your Tesla to include effectively the only other high power (level 3) charging standard in the US and effectively the Electrify America charging network. Sure, you could have used it before with J1772, but now, you can get nearly the same kind of charging speeds that you'd see on a Tesla supercharger.
The adapter is a single unit, comes in a carrying/storage case, and plug directly into your Tesla's charging port, like a normal charger. The CCS charging connector then plugs into it. It looks sleek and not out of place with the car. It's also pretty robust. After about a week, I barely bothered to put it back in the case. The adapter itself is pretty sturdy and honestly bulky due to being a CCS adapter and so there was no real point taking up more space with the case.
Even though Electrify America can hit up to 350kW charging power, this adapter is limited to 250kW. just like the offical Tesla adapter. So, effectively you're limited by the vehicle, and not what the adapter can handle. Even so, you don't end up losing that much time, at least on a true 250kW capable station. Finding an operational one is still sometimes hit or miss. I found even with 350kW supercharging, the car only hits that for a short period of time at a low state of charge and it drops quickly to within the 200kW range within 10 minutes while trottling down. The high charging rates can be useful for grabbing a decent amount of charge within 15 minutes starting from a nearly drained battery, but if you're not pushing things to the wire on a road trip, you're likely barely tapping 200kW for your normal supercharging session.
As it turns out, my big interest in this was to open up charging at random grocery stores and parking lots where for whatever reason, the options are CCS/CHAdeMO or some lousy 2kW or less charging (effectively what you'd get on just a normal household circuit). Often, the lower power chargers are occupied by EVs or hybrids with small batteries which may not even support level 2 charging and so I'd not actually been able ot take advantage of charging at those locations. Having this adapter opens that up for me. On long trips, I'm likely still going to use the supercharger network over alternatives but having the option is great and there are some adventures where I'm eking out that last mile in some area where Tesla chargers are rare and previously just settling for finding something available supporting J1772.
TLDR, the charging adapter is robust, workings, and supports charging pretty much equivalent to Tesla's own.

So this is it, this adapter allows Tesla owners to expand their charging capabilities by now being able to access the CCS network of fast charging stations. Right out of the box I could tell this would be a quality adapter. It is very sturdy and well made. Having this additional freedom and flexibility of being able to use more chagrin stations makes taking road trips even more enjoyable now.
My initial testing was met with high marks. The adapter fits well at the CCS charging stations and communicates properly with my Tesla. Exactly what you would want from the adapter. It is easy to use and there is a peace of mind knowing it works well with out any complicated connections. I would suggest plugging the adapter into your tesla first, and then plugging the charger into the adapter after it is connected to the tesla. This seemed to work the best for me.
I would definitely recommend this for any Tesla owner, it is added peace of mind knowing you can access other charging stations while traveling. It is advisable before purchasing, to make sure your specific model tesla is compatible. And check in your menu settings that CCS is enabled.

Virtually everyone will agree that the Tesla Supercharger is unmatched in its reliability and ubiquity. It also tends to be much more reasonably priced than the CCS network. However, there does come some occasions where you need to charge CCS. The Tesla stations may be down or crowded. The CCS charger may be closer than a Supercharger. For example, the CCS network is just closer to me than the nearest Supercharger. Regardless of your situation, I do think that this is a much needed adapter for Tesla owners. My reasoning is that there definitely will be an occasion where you need to use the CCS network. You don't want to be out of luck when that happens.
Enter the Rexing CCS to Tesla adapter. This thing works great. It fits snug into the Tesla port. I had no issues with inserting the CCS. It worked great when I tried it on the EA network. Build quality seems solid and on par with the OEM one sold by Tesla. The OEM one is a bit cheaper so that does bring into question what Rexing is trying to do with this one. All in all, works great and I think all Tesla owners should have some sort of CCS to Tesla adapter.

This is a basic item, but it works well.
This CCS adapter lets you charge your CCS compatible tesla and not worry about charging locations.
The adapter comes in a very nice carry case that zips shut, and a manual that explains the order of plugging into a CCS charging station.
The quality feels nice, it has a heft to it that feels quality and durable, but not overly heavy.
The charging rate you get is what you would expect for a fast charging station. I did have a couple hiccups getting the charge to start, but I believe that’s more on the EA station I was using and not the adapter itself.
Charging with CCS is not nearly as easy to use as a supercharger that you are used to, but this adapter does make it as easy as it can be, and comes in a small compact package.
I throw the adapter in its case in the sub trunk along with my other charging equipment, and will use it when a supercharger is out of the way, or I just can’t find one.
Overall, this is a very simple, but effective product.

So first things first, this is a wear product, any adapter is going to wear out with time, just be cognizant of that if you are a road warrior and use it constantly, personally this is a backup and convenience adapter for me so for me this should last a very long time. If you are an EV enthusiast this probably isn't the review for you other than to sum it up that this works great and seems to be well built.
My daily commuter is an old leaf so I'm going to add a little context to non tesla charging as it is not as smooth and potentially people looking at this are considering using non tesla chargers for weekly use if they live in an apartment or roadtrip usage. Tesla chargers are extremely reliable, depending on how old your gas station is it might be more reliable than that, especially as almost always there are multiple stalls working if one is broken (like when you pull up at the gas station and one is taped off). The CCS network is… less reliable. I can usually get a charge session going but often I see other CCS cars struggling with charging speeds when they shouldn't be in my area. My leaf has 50kw charging so that isn't a problem. Another problem I've run into is that my leaf has a third type of charger, CHADEMO, as more people are using non Telsa chargers they are randomly choosing which stall, and seem to choose the CHADEMO stall, this is the stall to avoid if you choose to use a non Telsa charger as it is often slower than the other chargers and is the only one some cars can use while there are three or more other stalls for CCS cars to top it off non Tesla chargers have a habit of installing to cables per charger, both do not charge cars, only one works at a time, so if the CCS cable is used on the only one with a CCS and CHADEMO plug then the CHADEMO plug wont work. When road tripping in a Tesla to my Brothers house there is a CCS charger I like to stop at as it is perfectly located for what I need compared to the Tesla charger, however it is not always working at if I get to the CCS one without stopping like I like to do, I can't make it to the Tesla on further along if that CCS one isn't working. So, take a look at plug share or the specific charger app that you are wanting to use to confirm the charging station is up and running and hopefully at full speed, this isn't fool proof but has worked excellently for me. Also, it costs quite a bit more per kwh sometimes double the price, but depending on your region this still isn't close to the cost of gas. The last thing to hit on is plug and charge does not work, i mean I guess it works on some networks I hear, but you need to sign up through that network and that isn't something I have done. You'll want get the app for the chargers as sometimes the screen doesn't work on the charger but it'll still work through the app.
To sum this review up, this adapter works great and I absolutely love having it and wouldn't travel without one. Just be polite when choosing a charger stall if possible. And I would absolutely recommend this product and recommend people travel with one as more charging options is always better.

The Tesla Supercharger network is hands-down the best charging network on the planet for Electric Vehicles (EV), but as great as it is EV charging stations are still not as prevalent as gas stations. Tesla’s decision to not use the pre-existing CCS charging connector for its fleet of vehicles means Tesla drivers have one-less set of charging stations to use should a Supercharger not be available in the area of travel. There is nothing more terrifying to an EV driver than being at less than 5% battery, pulling into a charging station and finding it closed for maintenance and so having a backup option for charging is a vital component of owning an EV. I suspect this problem will mostly disappear over the next 3-5 years which I write because in the 5 years I’ve been driving Tesla, the number of Tesla super chargers along my usual driving route between Georgia and Tennessee has increased from 3 stations to 8 stations. But even with that improvement there are still dozens of areas around both states where the stations are not available. The ability to use an adapter for charging at non-Tesla stations is essential.
As to this specific adapter, wow it’s heavy and huge compared to the Tesla connector, now branded the North American Charging Standard, but I suspect its as small as it could be. Connecting and using the adapter is as simple as aligning the connectors and snapping the two together. When the charging session is completed, I found the Tesla didn’t often recognize the session was complete so it left the charging port locked, which just means you’ll need to manually unlock the charging port to disconnect the adapter from the car. I see this same experience with other charging adapters, just don’t go trying to yank this thing out of the car when the session is complete.
Rexing has included a nice carrying case for this adapter which is a bonus. Tesla never provides a case for their adapters. I appreciate Rexing for including a case which makes it a clean storage solution for keeping the adapter in the Tesla.
The biggest thing to keep in mind is that not all Tesla vehicles support CCS charging, so before purchasing it’s vital you check your specific Tesla to ensure CCS charging is supported.
Overall this is a solid, easy to use connector that gives me the piece of mind that wherever I travel I have one more charging option for the EV.

The Rexing CCS to Tesla EV charger Adapter allows you to charge your CCS enabled Tesla vehicle at one of over 5000 CCS fast charging stations. It is important to note that you must check in your Tesla settings to see if your vehicle is CCS enabled in order to use this adapter. I was able to charge my Model 3 using this adapter however an older model S could not be charged at the CCS charger.
Rexing is known to manufacture high quality automotive products and there is no doubt that this adapter is just that. Luckily I have both an EVgo and Electrify America charging station near my home. After setting up accounts for both respective charging stations via their apps I was able to seamlessly plug the CCS charger into my car by using the Rexing CCS adapters. The car was quickly able to reach level 3 charging speeds(my car's battery was already preconditioned). The main issue that you may have when arriving at the CCS charger is finding a free one that is working. Luckily the Electrify America station is right next to a Tesla supercharger so they are usually not busy. The Adapter has all of the safety mechanisms identical to the OEM Tesla adapter so you won't have to worry about someone being able to pull the charger off the car. One thing to note about CCS adapters in general is thar on 8/17/23 both Electrify America and EVgo changed their terms of service to indicate that only OEM adapters were approved to be used at their charging stations. Essentially there is no way for them to know if you are using a non OEM adapter however if you have any issue they simply won't be liable. That being said Rexing's CCS adapter rivals that of Tesla so I don't think you will have any issues

Well-built Adapter for Tesla That Supports CCS

First and foremost, your Tesla must have CCS adapter charging enabled to use this adapter, and subsequently to be able to charge at a CCS charger. Check "Additional Vehicle Information" under your Software in your car to be sure. I don't know if you can enable this if it's not enabled though.
I'll say up front that I was not able to charge my car with this adapter because the CCS charging station I happened to find nearby was occupied. There is another nearby on the turnpike that I was able to stop and look at briefly, but I didn't need to charge and didn't have time to stay. Regardless, I was able to at least try the plug at the FL Turnpike Service Plaza and everything fit correctly.
The adapter housing is made out of what seems like seriously tough polymer. It's also deceivingly heavy due to the conductors/contacts inside. It seems very well constructed and includes an over-temperature sensor. The manual says it will charge up to 250A/250kW.
This particular adapter includes a very nice carrying/storage case that is foam lined with a zipper and lanyard loop. This is a nice touch, because the adapter would otherwise be awkward to store and may not stay put due to its shape. The case allows it to fit in one of the cubbies in the trunk and it won't shift around while you drive.

I recently acquired the CCS to Tesla Adapter to expand my charging options for my Tesla electric vehicle, and overall, I'm quite satisfied with its performance.
The build quality of the adapter is top-notch, and feels like it'll hold up to bouncing around in the trunk just fine. It also comes with a nice zipper case for added protection. It's compact and easy to carry, making it convenient to keep in my car at all times.
Charging speed has been relatively good, though I did notice a slightly slower charging rate compared to using Tesla's proprietary Supercharger stations. This is an acceptable trade off for often lower cost per kilowatt and sometimes even free charging at local retailers.
The convenience of having the CCS to Tesla Adapter cannot be overstated, particularly during road trips or when my regular charging options are unavailable. It's a great tool for extending my EV's range and ensuring I'm not restricted to specific charging networks.
In terms of compatibility and functionality, the CCS to Tesla Adapter does its job well. It has proven reliable in various charging situations, and is a more cost-effective alternative to an adapter from Tesla.

The Rexing - CCS to Tesla Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger Adapter for Tesla Models S, 3, X and Y works quite well. The build quality is solid and the zipper base it comes in is very nice as well. The Supercharger network is one of the best around. There are times when a Supercharger is not in the area you are visiting or not near your destination. This is when this adapter comes in handy if there are other chargers nearby, such as Electrify America. The adapter connects to their connector and then connects to the Tesla port on your vehicle. This is unit is much smaller than the Tesla CHAdeMO adapter I purchased nearly 7 years ago for my Tesla. The Tesla CHAdeMO adapter was the only way to get high powered charging outside of the Tesla Supercharging network years ago. I’m glad things have changed over the years. Who knows, in the future there may not be a need for anything else other than the Tesla charging network. I’m not sure how often I will need it since the Tesla Supercharging network is constantly growing, but it’s great to have when needed.
